Im running a stock 93 crown Vic and put my 302 in it and the alternator sticks up a little was wondering if anybody ran without one. And what kind of belt did you guys use.

shim up the core support a bit,,, bend the hood a little, ya can cut a hole in the hood,,

I believe that only the early years of the 4.6 like the ones that came in the 91 and 92 town cars kept the sbf tranny pattern. The rest used the new modular pattern

The rest used the new modular pattern Ford went to the AODE (electronic OD tranny) in 4/92 IIRC. Before that the early model '92 Vics and Grand Marquis still had the AOD. I had an early model '92 Vic for a driver which getting starters for was sometimes "fun." Good news was it was still a 2 bolt starter. Ford guys called that early 4.6 the "bastard block" for a reason.

Im running a 302 carburetor with a stock 89 crown Vic trans and it went in the 93 with new motor mount.it will bolt up to the trans all I did was fliped my trans mount around and it goes in

Ford guys called that early 4.6 the "bastard block" for a reason. Yep, 91 Town Cars and early build 92 Vic's and Marq's used the "bastard block" 4.6 with the old SBF bell housing pattern.

Yes I always ran my 302 with no alt. Single deep cycle battery would last all season on a charge. A good running engine only needs to start once per derby
