Do u not chain your body to ur rearend? On my leafed cars it's flat stack them chain them an let it go an they roll right behind the leafs. Are the 80 up mopars different?
Unfortunatly, I cant chain the body to the rearend to the body for this show... But usually, I always do it when I'm allowed to.

Adjustable shocks could help hold the body down. That way the rear dont tee pee. Just a thought on shows like that

if you check out the tips section for that car type. dimpling the trunk and loosing rear bumper is a common build strategy for those cars at least in the more stock builds. just because its leafed doesn't mean it wont screw ya. brother got a lebaron so I did some research. Was a little surprised by that at first myself.

I'm sayin adjustable shocks for the rear to hold it down since he can't chain it down. They r very easy to make. Or if u have no fabrication skills they sell them for 80 a set

I'm sayin adjustable shocks for the rear to hold it down since he can't chain it down. They r very easy to make. Or if u have no fabrication skills they sell them for 80 a set I know but they are usually more expensive then just a generic shock. I just put in a cheapo shock that is the length I need. For example if the normal shock is 12 inches long and I want to drop it 4 inches. I just go buy a junk shock from the junk yard or a cheap new one and make sure it is 8 inches. If they push the rear end down it will still compress but it will not allow it to pull out for a long time. Or do it the old cheater way and take a set of old rusty shocks hollow them out weld a nut in one side and all thread in the other and thread them in to the height you want.

Ya new way is all thread with 6 nuts an 4 washers an some heavy flat steel an ur set. Then u can go from that 12inch to tires rubbing the inner wheel wells if u really want to.

Ran this last weekend. Found out I didn't have reverse morning of derby. Tried to go out and make some big hits but ended up with my nose in the wall in heat and consi. Took a nose to nose shot that bent it at the firewall. Might pull down and plate it, not sure yet. Maybe time to move on to another lol

My first mopar. So far been in two derbies with me. Front end is HARD but back end is garbage. I love to use the front end of the car the most. More fun blasting people. I dont have any pictures from after the second derby, but the front is still pretty much straight at firewall, but in front of control arms its starting to bend up bad. I snapped the leafs on the rearend and uncurled the eyes on the front of both springs. Back is starting to fold to ground. 87 5th ave, mild built 318, 904 tranny, homemade Carb/distributor protector, and set up with a ford 9 inch rearend. Other than that its just basic build. Not the best picture, but im on the far end. Getting ready to go nose to nose with a built 1964 oldsmobile 88

Well I ran this one on the 16th and it never bent but let me down. The day of the derby I broke a u bolt that holds the axle to the leaf spring loading it on the trailer. I changed it in the pits but had to bolt it down with out the rubber that goes around the leaf so it was a little loose. I made a few good hits with it and it never bent but then the u joint snapped at the rear end. I think the fact that the drivers side was a little loose put too much stress on the u joint and broke it right where the cap goes on.

This car hates me.....day before first run I had to swap motors, day before second had to swap 3rd members, 2nd run ended up busting the top out of the rotor in the distributor.

Technically a compact but here is a pic of my valiant after its first run this year. Ran it again the next week. Back folded up and started whale tailing, front still hasn't moved.
