We are allowed to fold the top of our door skins down and weld them. What is the benifit? And how hard is it too do?
Thanks for any info. Wreckage.

I do this on every car on the driver's door to make it easier to get in and out of. Also I do it to all my compact doors when allowed. Idk how much it actually helps but I figured with a car held together with sheet metal the more you can tie together the better. It's pretty easy to do with a hammer pry bar and a couple c clamps. Start with the inside skin beat it down trying to make it fold outwards til it's flat. Then beat the outside skin down and towards the inside till its touching. Doesn't always come out pretty but I'm used to filling gaps with the welder. If you're allowed to use strapping it makes a lot easier.

That can be the practice door.

Ever notice how the tops of the doors look after the body been tweaked? Imo helps the body stay straight so the rear will role like a tube of toothpaste.

If you ever have a fire, you'll find out why it's a good idea. I roll ever door down as much as I can, so there's as many ways outta a car as possible. Don't do it for the cool guy points but it can't hurt the structure of the car any either

You'll see that the door is much stronger folded, especially folded+welded. Oh, and getting in/out of the car and working on it is easier too.

First time you rip your brand new drivers suit, you'll fold the doors over next time........
