Does anyone know or has ran an 80's GM front clip (doghouse) on an box Ford? I need to replace the un-repairable doghouse on my 81 Town Car and there's an 83 Olds 88 with good front sheetmetal and core support that I can have for free. I don't want to spend a lot of time on it since it's for a small local show. Is this a simple quick thing or shouldn't I waste my time and try to locate a Ford front end? I haven't measured the Olds yet since it's about 10 miles away. They look like they would be close but thought someone here made have done this before.

Saw a 80s caprice body on a square Vic frame once.... It was ugly but didn't look any different than a Vic after a few runs

Hey thanks for the info guys! I took measurements last night. Turns out there is only a difference of 9/16" in width and 1/2" difference firewall forward between the two. Looks like it will be a pretty easy fit.

Not that anyone probably cares but I thought I would give an update on this. 80's GM front sheetmetal is almost a perfect match on an 80's FoMoCo. It was almost scary how well it actually fit on there. The core support flanges are close enough to the holes in the Ford horns that a 1/2" bolt drops right down through. The only thing that needs addressed is the front wheel center on the GM is slightly more rearward. A sledge to the bottom of the fender at the wheel-well takes care of that. Other than that... Good fit.
