Maybe it's already been covered elsewhere but didn't see it Anyways, question is how much force, either winch or porta power, would I need for pulling front ends back down ? I'm building compact unibody cars but I'm kinda asking generally speaking. Got a 12k winch, with a snatch block would that be enough to pull most front ends down ? Also considering adding a 10 ton porta power with a 5 ton pull back ram to my tools. Thanks in advance.

Good porta power and winch in the pits or at home are a great investment.

Using floor pots on anything 'stock' 10 ton bottle jacks and the correct tie downs and special made tools pulls easy....on frame racks with towers I think (don't quote me) those towers are generally only rated at 10T.....
even more important than that is tieing everything down 'correctly' so that you are accomplishing something....
AND it's real easy to break motor mounts, motor blocks, tranny's

That's how winch cables get destroyed, I would use a beam underneath the car and a bottle jack. Sometimes you need to pull the frame out too. I get what your saying tho.

the other thing....if you (anyone) are a complete dumba$$ DO NOT attempt to even try to pull anything straight....between chains breaking, cars moving, jackstands busting it's a script for getting hurt or as my friends of color say....killt

I've pulled a lot of cars out with the winch on the rollback. I've also bent them back down with the bed and towbar. I wouldn't recommend doing it if it's an aluminum bed though.

Chains in floor in c-ment to pull frames down or even to prebend. An then if u need to pull frame out take it to body shop pay them money under the table an they will pull it right out....

Got a 10 ton porta power and a fairly stout skid steer trailer so I'm pretty well setup now. Had a "friend" with a roll back I used to call on to bend cars back down but here lately he don't want to bend em anymore so I got setup to bend my own, when it's convenient for me and when I need it done. Future plans do include a very think floor setup to bend frames and what not, but for the time being this well due.
