I've read some of the mopar engine pages, and I've thought of a few things but I haven't really looked into it much. I just bought this car, 318/ Unsure on the transmission. (Haven't been under it yet). Car is getting fuel, but zero spark. New coil. I have no idea where to even start. Any ideas? (Lean Burn I think?)

Put a skip white hei distributor and whatever carburetor you know how to adjust and throw all the lean burn crap in the scrap pile. JMO

I don't think lean burn even qualifies as scrap does it?

You have a 904 transmission underneath they are decent but reverse will stop working after awhile

I have used the same one for years you have to make sure you set the kick down linkage correctly.

Only 904 I've had go bad was one I filled with ATF+4. Used Type F, and looped lines and its replacement works great still. The ATF 4 trans was also never ran, it failed as I was loading it on the trailer a few years back.

Its true the reason i lost reverse is a line busted and emptied its oil

Its true the reason i lost reverse is a line busted and emptied its oil If this is what really happened, why on earth would you withhold this information and why would you take a step further and tell someone that 904 transmissions have weak reverse?

im pretty sure all transmissions "stop working afterwhile" when they piss all the fluid onto the track.

Sorry I forgot to mention that but i know guys that run 904 and reverse just stops working without losing a drop of fluid aswell

I just broke a $600 rebuilt TH400 with a cooler and plenty of fluid because I beat the ever loving hell out of it. Does that make th400s junk?
