What are the advantages of welding your A-Arms down solid! Is there any disadvantages if you don't weld your A-Arms down?

It simply lifts the front end as high as possible, no popping out coil springs or swaps or any messing around. just jack the front end off the ground(by the crossmember) and weld a strap from the arm to the frame. instant lift kit

Thanks for the feedback. I'm just asking cause I didn't tilt my 85 Lincoln quite enough and it's pretty level without jacking it up and welding arms down. If I jack it up and weld them down then the frame isn't going to be level.

depending on the build and type of car it can help the spring pockets from collapsing.

The advantage to welding them down is increased ride and front bumper height. The disadvantage is additional stress on uper ball joint.

It is full weld. Tranny protector, Distributor protector, 5x5 square tubing front bumper 1/4" thick. I'd say it's tilted 4" and I'm wishing it was tilted 6" or 7".

I mean no disrespect by saying this, but if you dont know the advantage or disadvantage of welding a-arms down maybe a full weld type build is getting a little in over your head.

This is not my first weld car. I ran all last year as well and I did have a arms welded down. I know why you do it. I just wanted to know if it would hurt anything if I didn't do it?
