I am building a car for my first demo derby in Spicewood, TX. all i have left is making a gas tank and building a 4 point square cage for the drivers compartment.
Here are the rules posted for the drivers compartment.
- 4 point square cage only, no down pipes this includes to the floor, max 60 inch side bars 6 inch max, Must be mounted horizontally and 8 inches off floor. Gussets only in interior of 4 point cage.
- Halo bar allowed, only to the back seat bar or sidebars
So what does a 4 point square cage look like and what does all this mean? maybe if someone can post a picture? I am new to this, so sorry if this is a dumb question

A picture really helps explain cages best. I was confused about the many different cages when I first started too.

^ that is a four point cage, with downbars(going down to the floor). the tubing that runs out of the windows and over the roof is the halo(rollover bar), which is connected to the rear seat bar portion of the four point cage. The front tubing is the dash bar, and the side tubing are the door bars...all pretty self explanatory.
