Go figure. I can only laugh at the bad luck, guesstimates, and decisions I made and had with this build. Luckily this won't be a showstopper. Just another less than perfect part. lol

You do want a low stall but if its the factory options and nothing way off like a street stall or bigger you wont notice a lot but heat will be more of an enemy. Make sure your cooler is good and you should be just fine.

Cool thanks, I do have a trans cooler. As soon as I saw fordpowers post, I tried to change order, but I was too late.

I am confused why you pulled engine for torque converter? Why not pull the trans instead?

Was just the route I went--Partially ignorance, but Transmission would have been harder to pull with my lines ran and cooler hooked up; shifter is in and partially connected to the body as well as bolted to the trans tunnel bolts; wanted to do some frame work as recommended in another thread that I can do with motor out.

Well she is all back together and runs. Thanks to all. Now I gotta figure out a carb choke issue. If its not one thing its another....

right, you don't need or want a choke on a derby car. I don't even run them on my street cars, just work the accelerator pump for 5-10 seconds and it will run even on the coldest day

Running good now. Turns out it wasn't a choke issue, but my points were all outta whack. As you all know it's an electric choke and it is disconnected just like last year. Just when I played with it it seemed to run at higher idle. Confused me. All makes sense now. Points LOL
