This could probably go in a couple different threads so bare with me. I am building a super clean 75 regal and am almost complete. I'm running the low mileage Buick 350 that was in the car as it runs great. I realize clearance is an issue with these motors and had DEC make me a set of forward off set turnouts. Still have clearance issue with the steering shaft etc on driver side. I have been wanting to purchase steering components anyway so figure now is time to do so however the rest of my cars are big GM products and I wanted the parts to be somewhat interchangeable. The question is what are the differences between big GM and mid GM steering. The boxes look similar but I hear the splined shaft is either 3/4 or 13/16. I am unsure what steering joints and slider shaft to get or should I go with a complete full column set up? It looks like the column set ups don't come with slider shafts and I would prefer the slider shaft and 2 unjoints because the stock set ups have broke on me in the past. It is hard to get any answers from vendors who are selling these products as I'm sure they are super busy. Just hate to order parts and have to return and re-order. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Boxes are the same other than the output shaft size just like you mentioned. I always make my own steering shafts with a dodge truck or similar slider and a few parts from speedway or wherever.

Thanks Stromi. I was actually able to find all the parts I need for a reasonable price from Borgeson Universal. Those guys are great and I recommend them for any steering issues that may arise for other drivers. Borgeson.com.

Is a midsize g body regal/cutlass box from the 80s interchangeable with a 70s /80s Caprice box as far as bolting it up?
