First, I remember reading it somewhere but couldn't find it...
But I need a cable gas pedal. I'm from Canada and with the current exchange rate, customs clearance, shipping.... A vendor one is ridiculously expensive to get. So considering that, to me, it's only a cable and some leftover steel, so I want to built my own. My question is, what type and length of cable do you guys use? Is it something that you could get to the tractor supply store? An eBay link, or something similar would be very appreciated! Or maybe a vendor is selling only the cable?
Thanks!

Not super hard to make, just a decent cable and the rest is easy.
I should get pictures, scrap steel, a door hinge, a spring and a bolt made the base and a bicycle brake cable ran the throttle. Not the finest piece but it cost me 0 to make. And did it work? Your damn right it did.

Not the finest piece but it cost me 0 to make. And did it work? Your damn right it did. I already made one a couple years ago, but the cable was the problem. I was young and stupid at the time and I took a parking brake cable. It worked decent for some time, but with the car being store outside and under the elements, the cable started to rust quickly under the plastic sleeve, making it very hard to move... Oh well!
Now, I'm older and still stupid, but not enough to pay 300$ and plus for a cable and scrap steel.
But pictures could still help!
Thanks!

If you run Vics the fold down arm rest has the bolt and bearing you will need just rip all the foam off, shorten and attach it to some steel using the bolt and almost all the hard work is done.

Get ahold of rick Clarke. He's from Canada and builds pedals. Look up RnR derby supply on facebook.

I made a dash mounted gas pedal once from a Hyundai clutch pedal and a 4.6 throttle cable. It worked great and cost nothing.

So there is nothing to fix this king of pedal to... that is why I believe a floor mounted cable pedal might be my best option.. But thanks for the information!

Is there a tony Burkhart discount, and what is Facebook? I wish there was! It's just a good thing knowing that people are out spreading word of the products some guys like at great prices. The sellers keep that in mind for the traveling mouth and though I may pay now, who is to say the next item I purchase is discounted, and same goes for others that buy his products. Referrals do wonders.
