I've run electric pumps in the past and had problems. I ran Holley blue pumps and had delivery problems. What I wanted to know is has anyone ran 2 pumps with check valves and separate switches.

Don't need check valves. 2 pumps, separate switches, 1 regulator. Split the fuel line from tank, run to pumps, run pump outlets to a t-fitting for a single outlet to the pressure regulator. From regulator to the carb.

I was reading an article that said it could lose pressure without a check valve. Just wanted to see if anyone has done it and how it worked. I know how to plump them, but just wanted to know about if they would back feed and lose pressure. Thought about even putting shut off valves in each line.

What kind of delivery problems did you have?

Pumps would lose pressure or lock up. Changed to mechanical pump because of the problem. Changing set ups and a mechanical pump isn't a option now.

The back-flow issue depends on the pumps you use. Some are not a flow-through design, so if it's not pumping, nothing can get through.
