I've got a '73 Ford F-250 that's now pre-ran but I didn't get a chance to really lower the rear so I had a bit of a fold down on the bed in which the bumper is now under the truck. I was wondering what would be the best way to lower the rear on a pre-ran. Bought some heavy duty chain and was going to chain the frame down to the rear end and remove the bumper and roll the end of the bed back up but didn't want to go too far until I got other opinions. Thanks guys

Weld all-thread to rear axle, run it up through the bed, plates, washers, nuts. Tighten down to desired height. If you want it completely stiff, put a nut and plate on the bottom also.

Chain the rear-end or put rear-end on top of the leafs My original plan is to wrap chain around the axle housing on the tubes just below the frame rails then cross it mid-way and wrap it around the frame rails and put a remove able threaded link to hold the chain together then possibly tac weld the threaded piece in place

I don't recommend wrapping chain around your frame there's other options I would put the axle above the leafs then chain
