The only other demo game that I felt was a good demolition derby game was Test Drive Eve of Destruction for the PS2. That game was GREAT!
The one thing that surprises me is that after I made my donation to this game, was the lack of communication. I forgot what information I had to put in, but after I did, it made me wonder how the developer would be able to communicate with us. I thought sure we should get some kind of updates as we go sent to us since we are the early people to jump on. Oh well.

After playing the demo provided by Madmax1100 and then the updated demo from the developer I have to say this game is on the right track. For anyone that didn't download the updated demo yet there is the addition of apparent suspension damage / flat or locked up tires. In terms of funding I wish I could buy early access such as Bugbear has provided with "Next Car Game" which I believe is now called "Wreckfest". I bought their game at full price unfinished and they regularly update it through Steam. However, for all Wreckfest's pretty graphics and a pretty impressive soft body damage model (minus the car pieces falling off), it still doesn't hold a candle to the new Demo Derby demo I just played in terms of an authentic demolition derby feel.

No problem! I know what you mean I have been waiting for some time for a remake to bedone. With working on tracks I would assume the car designs would be next and possibly the last to do before alpha testing is underway. But time will tell. As an experienced modder of this game, I can say, the worst and most time consuming aspect are the tracks. There is a lot to do there, from the buildings, stands and various other track side objects, not including the wav points that the cars travel. That is not to mention the fact that the developer is going to have a moving Ferris wheel at a fair type derby. That for one is one I can not wait to see! Cars are easy to create and paint. Personally, I can bang out two or three in a eight hour day, depending on detail. The recent Psycho car that I made for the game took a little longer.

I don't have any doubt that there is a lot of work that goes into the tracks. I have looked into what goes into a game as I have always wanted to make a derby game of my own but got beat to the point by Game Mechanics lol I hope to see this game do great things and have done what I can to back the game up. I just wish there was more I could do to help with it. I am eager to see this game at its full potential!

Max...... I am probably jumping the gun on this one. Is he going to have separate class files as the original? Meaning, one of us makes a class file and it shows up in the compact derby. I would hate to see us go thru all that again.

I would hate to see us go thru all that again. That was a mistake made by BMELM who made an assumption back in 2003. But Bmelm was modding without information from the creator. This time, we will all receive the modding information and what does what.. also all mods will be tested as they will go into automatic updates which is pretty cool... if you ask me... Well that's the plan anyways...

Quote from Game Mechanics LLC page..... "The current schedule for Demo Derby is Alpha release Sept. 1st. That will include all the cars and at least one final map. Beta release and Steam Early Access is scheduled for October 1. That will have more if not all the maps. With final release coming December 1. All these dates may change but I wanted to give you an idea of what I am planning"

Have to say, I am a little disappointed. I invested a $100 in this game as a car designer and I have not heard ANY info except from Madmax1100 on here after I have posted a couple of months ago. I have also been on his web-site and no info. I guess I am just disappointed there has been no communication to the people who have tried to help back this game. Anyone else getting information that I am not?
