try not to grip the wheel too tight on big hits, just let the seat soak up your body mass. the only times I bent wheels was in my early years when i was using the wheel as holy shit handle as if it were the only thing in the car that was a solid object to grip onto. tightening up my muscles so much that i was holding my body off of the seat. when you do that the wheel turns into a noodle real quick.

I took one I bent straightened it out the best I could and then welded 1/8 inch plate on to it. Didn't bend on me last year.

I have bent every steering wheel I have ever ran. I even ripped the center out of one of those fancy solid aluminum racing steering wheels. I run a racing seat and four point harness but inertia is a bitch. Newton was on to something...
