Should be a thread dedicated to midsize wagons, *rolls eyes* completely different than the montes/ Grand Prix/ leaf sprang full size wagons.

When it comes to building the back. I've read through that thread 8 times. There isn't much insight on how to set up a midsize wagon. And I would presume it's a lot different than setting up a tucked coupe.

They are HARD in the rear if leafed, otherwise double dimple/notch and pretend the roof up. I'd build them something similar to an 80s gm wagon.

The front end of the car will be the same as whats discussed in the thread. I realize the back will not be the same as a sedan/coupe, or a fullsize SPRANG wagon, but the info from when he builds and/or runs his can be saved in that thread.... *eyes rolled* And yes, as 513 said, if you can't hump plate or leaf, I would build the rear pretty similar to an 80s GM wagon. Roof up, quarters dimpled down, notch, pre bend up.

Front of an impala wagon is the same as a impala sedan . Those wagons have there on thread. It's only fair to let the whittle wagons have their own too lol. Rolls eyes!

Least I got you fired up enough to give the kid some insight. I would agree with what you said about the back. Helped a buddy build a 79 gm wagon, IMO he made both his notches too similar, the one closest to the back bumper should give in easier than the second one. His car got tracked hard and it whale tailed bad because the second notch blew way before the first had the chance to pop up and start packing in.

I think the fullsize wagons get their own thread because the rear suspension has nothing in common with the sedans/coupes.
The midsize cars share coil springs on every body style.
So what it comes down to is using the tips from the midsize thread on the front and the 77+ wagon thread on the rear I guess.
In the typings of STROMI... IDK.

Here's a good example, last year in the tbtc class 2 midsize wagons ran, I'm pretty sure both were built close(didn't check dimples/notches although I did notice one was notched about 10 inches from the tailgate(guessing end of shock), with roof bubbled) and the one in this years stock class was strictly double dimpled. I checked out the one in the stock class this year and it had identical size dimples that weren't deep enough...it plowed. What all 3 had in common though Is that they took a pounding to the rear, and I was impressed with both of the tbtc heat cars for the abuse they took(hump plates went a long ways).
IMO these would be an excellent car to take to a show where you had front kickers, a arms forward plated and allowed leafs with a hefty cage and GTP. Plus tilting these to get rid of the s curve seems to be slowly catching on so I see a lot of potential in them for the "right" ruleset.
