The youth class is intended for young kids that to have a fun and safe time. This class got out of hand in the first year. For example... full engine cradles 24 inch bumper shocks Beadlocks, frame plating, etc.
This is not setting a good example nor allowing a fair/competitive sport. Also, we do not need 10 year old kids driving through people with midsize cars and built up 6 cylinder engines. A few of these cars ran in 4 to 6 youth shows and won midsize derbies. Good for them whose parent can afford it and put the money and time into the car, but bad for all the other kids.
If the car count suffers from these rules, we will simply not have this class moving forward.

This class is for fun. If you don't understand that, then don't argue. This isn't a class to build a mod-car and crush the competition. This class is just to get a child's feet wet in a derby car. Whether it be a cavalier, taurus, vw, or whatever, it shouldn't matter. There is no reason to build an indestructible lumina for a 12 year old. They are kids, not 30 year old men. Do you want a kid getting hurt because there car is slightly underbuilt compared to kid who's father spent 6 months building a foxbody or lumina. If that was so, then why have a youth class. Might as well run them with the compacts.

My question to you Bill is who's fault is it that the youth class got out of hand ?

GUESS I GOTTA SET EVERTHING STRAIGHT I AM STILL IN CHARGE OF ALL SHOWS WE DO. I CHOOSE TO BRING BILL & WHOEVER ELSE HE CHOOSES IN TO HELP WITH HOPES OF HIM BEING IN CHARGE AT SOME POINT & TIME. I FEEL BILL DID A VERY GOOD JOB WITH HANDLING ALL DERBY ISSUES WE HAD LAST YEAR.THE NEW RULES FOR 2015 WERE WRITTEN BY MYSELF,BILL,AND U THE DRIVERS WE TOOK ALOT OF INPUT FROM DRIVERS ALL YEAR LONG AND SAID WE WOULD HAVE THE NEW RULES DONE EARLY FOR 2015.I FEEL THE RULE FOR ALL CLASSES WILL HELP CAR COUNT IF ALL THE DRIVERS I HAVE SPOKEN TO STAND TO THERE WORD. AS FOR THE YOUTH CLASS I DONT WANT TO SEE ANY YOUNG CHILD GET HURT AND I AM SURE NOBODY ELSE DOES EITHER YOUTH CLASS WAS NOT PUT TOGETHER TO SEE WHO CAN BUILD THE TOUGHEST COMPACT CAR THAT WAS WHY WE CHOOSE TO GO WITH THE RULES WE DID.WE DID LET ALOT GO IN THE YOUTH CLASS LAST YEAR BECAUSE WE DID NOT HAVE A SET OF RULES THAT IS WHY IT GOT OUT OF HAND[SO WHOS FAULT IS IT I GUESS IT WOULD BE THE PARENTS FAULT FOR TAKING THE FUN OUT OF DERBYING BEFORE THERE CHILD COULD EVEN HAVE FUN].ANY QUESTION EVERBODY KNOWS HOW TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ME.

I'd be nice if there was more then 5 days between Huron and Erie. Doesn't give a whole lot of time to fix a car if you want to run both. You have two weeks between the shows. Erie is August 9th, Norwalk is August 22nd.
