i picked up a brand new never used donut tire from the junkyard and it had all the hairs on it and the color. During the first run my uncle blew a tire and i didnt want to pay to replace it so i slapped this donut on there, the wheel was rubbing the strut before, so this donut gave my uncle tons of clearance and good grip. Had a few guys ask the derby if id ran a donut on the front before, and i said nope just trying stuff. The track was pretty muddy from the rain that day and my uncle said he had amazing grip and the donut never got popped, maybe because it was small ? IDK might be something to try again, maybe with on of those 2000's impala donuts that have the valve stem behind or under the rim, it looks like it would be hard to pop. Let me know if anyone else has done this before, thinking of trying it again with those kind of spares. Attachments:

I just worry about front bumper height if you had donuts up front.

i guess, but as long and the donuts are just as high as the regular tires you might be OK, but then again i can't be positive because i had one good full size tire and a donut on the other side. Didn't see to be to much of a difference but i guess someone else will have to try it as well.

Sounds ridiculously heavy to " me I wasnt sure how heavy they would end up being for the front there cheap cheap but if they would cause more problems than dubbled and foam filled skids then ill spend the extra money

Unless your allowed built suspension and steering components I wouldn't do it. I run 23's flapped, tubed and valve stem protectors. Lost 1 tire this season, outta 7 runs.

Tirerecappers are now doing a 205/75-14 mud tire in 8 ply. That's pretty cool
