First post here so I'll introduce myself. I'm Matt and I run a small tire and auto repair shop in Lacon IL. Here in town we have a track that does different events like mudbogs tuff trucks etc. Well one event is the Autocross. Best way I can explain it is it's Dirt track racing meets demo. The track is an oval with a few small jumps a mud pit in the center you can push people in and usually a large water filled area. Last month I had a customer sell me a 99 Lumina because the trailing arm had rusted away from the unibody. So I took my $100 car and ran it. I had a blast and actually won, so I'm going to keep running in it. Well I just wound up with a 96 Grand Caravan that's not in bad shape besides the customer stripped the threads for the brake line out in the ABS pump. We can run vans in the Autocross but the run with the regular front wheel drive cars. Will the van hold up with the cars? Any tips on it are appreciated. The race rules are only remove glass etc. and secure the battery. No moving the fuel tank or anything.

you may have better luck getting opinions in the figure 8/enduro section? could be wrong, just don't think in this section too many guys are going to be familiar with that type of format to give an accurate response. welcome to wecrash though! do you run derbys as well?

I also agree with boom about the thread location, but I also thank you for not throwing it in the general board and having us yell at you. But, my two cents, in my eyes, its a time to just throw a car into an arena with very little money stuck into it. I'd do it just to have fun, rather I have a chance to win or not. That's the reason I derby, not to win, but to have fun. But it does suck when you junk a car in one hit because you got ticked off.

Ok I'll post there. I don't run derbys. This was the first one I ran just to go out and have fun on just a little $. I may run derbys in the future though.

Run it, you already have it so go have fun with it until it breaks. Scrap it when it breaks.
