Proctorville got 15 cars for $10,000 to win show. $75 entry fee. Joey Braun snags another win.
15 cars.
Promoter needs a strong pit gate to make it. 15 cars won't pay a lot of bills.

dan 383 , u are a mopar fan (lol) !! so that explains why u dont win !!!!! rules to any class is the rules!! my point was , if you dont put time and pride in your car and run like you should you wont place !!! its funny on here people are like singing in the shower !! it sounds good there , but you will never go nashville!! cars look good or sound great in garage , but if dont build to compete or drive to compete , you wont win or place !! i'm not sayen go out there and sandbag , but drive like you want it !! this is just a hobbie or a sport !!!! then last year , sounds like people was afraid to run against certain drivers( drivers that put time& pride in car ) . they took time to build their cars to the extreme!!! you didnt , thats your fault!!! mod rules where good , some people just think they are golden in the shower, when in time they should have just saved their money !!! bradley23 , not cussing no one , just sayen last year all that was talked about was everyone goen stock rules , now it seems people are liken the mod rules to get more the 1 run out of cars !! here to say promoting a derby is a hell alot tougher then everyone thinks. car prices goen up , ins pymt is high , trophy money not cheap, plus your time . it dont matter what you do everyone will never be happy , there will allways be a bitcher or crier because they didnt win or place in top 5 ( not callen you that in means no how )!!yes i would like to see bigger tracks and bigger payouts , but the time and cost in todays econemy wont allow it !! so this is just a hobbie to everyone that does it !! so if you like derbien , just build a car and run for fun !!some will win and some will lose!!

When guys build semi-outlaw cars that run all season and get them thru tech at a mod show, they get in but it only hurts the class. The same applys when mod cars pass semi-stock shows. Do you blame the builder or the promoter? Depends I guess but we see where it got T and E. Promoters want counts, i get it. Drivers want to build a car the way they want, I get that too. Word is out, we all talk and we all know what is getting thru the gates and on the track!!! Quit pretending that its not!!! We all know each other well enough and have seen everyones stuff up close and personal. The cars T and E were letting in were borderline OUTLAW. The cars we've seen get in at other shows are not much different. Last year and this year alone at Jr shows, I've personally seen stuff get in and even place with "in your face stuff" like aftermarket tie rods and completely welded trunks. If the rules say "no welded trunks" why would even show up with it welded? Sure he had to cut some of it but not ALL of it. Are we gonna miss stuff, sure but when there are double skins, multi hybrid frames, un-godly amounts of plates, tilted "stocks", aftermarket stuff in stocks and we all know what else, what do we really expect. If you point it out, your a whiner and a non builder. If you sit out, you're hurting the count. If you go to the promoter, you put them in a bad position. If you over build to compete, you're the one that gets caught. If you divide us all up into different classes, you thin the heard. We're all in a bad position right now!!! All of this whining, moaning and finger pointing is OLD. How about facts! We weren't getting killer counts when the mods were the thing. We're not getting killer counts with the stocks now either. You can throw huge money out there and you WILL NOT draw a 30 car count unless its a stand alone event and even then you'll be lucky. County fair counts SUCK no matter what the rules are. We're all split down the middle and we cant be happy either way. Its not just here, its other states as well. Sure, you will occasionally see descent counts here and there but its not anywhere close the numbers we're all used to seeing a few years ago. Promoters will try do adjust or bail all together when they cant get numbers. What will we see next? I predict that we will see events that consist of a few one and done classes all added together to form a show. Mod, stock, gut-go, mowers, trucks and stuff like that. Put together 5 classes, wow the crowd and go home. Here is the glitch, how do you divide the purse? Do you give it the the class with the most cars? The fairboard isn't going to add more money. We're not going to run for 500 bucks when we're used to getting a grand. There isn't enough of us left in one class to be the headliner anymore. Rule changes aren't gonna cut it for anyone. We're all too bull-headed. As for the Toast, Jones, Hickman, Patton, Sitlow, Woodward, Moss, Dunn or whoever it is, I dont care who I run against! I respect all builders for simply supporting the sport and taking the track. Ran against them all. Beat some and got beat by some. Toast doesn't always win just by showing up (Columbus last yr) but he will sure make every attempt to, the same for the others. When we lose respect for each other, we lose respect for the sport because we are the sport. We could easily be replaced with a concert, tractor pull, mud bog or whatever. Might not be a bad thing, maybe that would get us more together at a few other shows. I guess its just gotten to the point where its too much to ask that we ALL build legal, to the rules, in a common class, have the promoter stand by his rules, pay us good money, pack the pits, pack the stands, get along, help one another out.........Yes, there was actually a time when this DID HAPPEN for the most part. What is the answer for us now.........I DONT KNOW AND NEITHER DO YOU! We all have suggestions but until we all agree, nothing is gonna change much. I dont see much changing, sad to say. Nothing personal to anyone. No finger pointing. I tried to stay factual. If I have offended anyone at all, you're taking me the wrong way. Peace. The only person we haven't blamed is the announcer.....Anyone??? Love ya Torry

I already know of a couple new drivers coming to the area that will be running JR shows starting next season. Just keep hanging tight everyone. We will keep getting more new people as time goes on. On a side note, got my next FWD gut-n-go car done. See everyone at Franklin!

Well here's my rant. The boys have a gut n go car!!!!isn't it great to see brothers friends family of any kind out in the drive cuttin up with each other and getting there hands dirty. Not just rotting away working them thumbs to death in a dimly lit room. Man do I love derby!!! Hopefully my sons and daughter will grow to love it the way I do. Let's all try to remember fun is what it's all about, instead of whatever it takes to win. Have fun and let's try to support our local fair, before we don't have a derby anymore.
