I don't even know how you would use a truck pan... I used a truck pan (318) on a 74 imperial shocker last year (with m1 cradle) and setting it between the steering and crossmember set it way to far forward... Then went behind the steering set it way to far back... So I ended up jacking up the front and setting it over the steering... Definately use a car pan

Iv ran a 318 and 360 in BB mopar cars too many to many times to count .. 318 was never put in a c body shocker from factory. 360 mounts will bolt to the block but need to be spaced with some washers.
That being said iv never heated and bent a center link or used a truck pan. I carefully dented the oilpan for clearance. Do it once and done. 360s drop right in with no pan mods. The firewall has to be cut or hammered back particually where window wiper motor mount and especially with a HEI cap.
You must use a trans mount if you want to save the ears on your block.

no 318s in Chrysler 74-78 C bodies but they did appear in the Dodge and Plymouth shockers. Uncommon but they do exist.
guys, lots of responses, all pointing to the same thing. The mounts are in a different place on big blocks than they are on small blocks. Several different strategies are presented for dealing with it.

Man, my robbo cradle worked great. Screw the mounts, the pans, the tranny mounts, the steering arms. My sh*t is in and rockin'...LOL
