I really like the idea of running a small rear tire but cant get past the 4 ply rating that tires this size come with. What are you guys doing to make these tires more durable. Doulbling, foam filled or stock? Thank you.

I know they make a 23 inch skidsteer that is 8 ply but it is for a 12 inch rim. I am wanting to use a 14 inch rim and the only 23 inch skidsteer for a 14 inch rim I have found is 4 ply. If you know where to find what I am looking for please share. Thank you.

Or share where I can find some 5 on 5 big GM 12 inch rims that aren't chinsy and made for a quad and wont break the bank like a tractor wheel costing several hundred dollars each.

I had 12 runs on my last set of 23x14 4PR skiddys before finally cutting one in half. At that point it would not have mattered what ply they were.

You can double them way more of a pain then a 15 in. I mounted my 14 in Carlisle skids on a tire changer just fine.

I have a set of the 5.7x12 skids mounted on Ford Festiva rims with full weld in centers for my bolt pattern. Festiva rims are 4.5" wide though, dont know how well theyd work for the 8.5 skids.

Thanks for all the info guys. Looks like I will be contacting Mr Buzzkill Rubber when my next paycheck comes. And Lincoln thanks for the info on the festiva rims but I do think it would be tough to mount the 8.50 tire on them.

I bought a set from haystire about a year ago. I run compacts but ive never had one pop off the bead and they are just the tires (nothing inside). sidewalls are really thick for a 4 ply. worth the money
