Are these any good to run and how well do they hold up

my last car was a 75 malibu wagon. Im not sure if these are different from the 73, but I loved mine. Look under the midsize tips to find out more info for them. crease the body, front and back. notch the frame in the back and flip the front bumper upside down. Good cars.

The frame will be c channel in the back, front bumper will be junk, but decent car other than that.

Really? ^^^ I was told that if I flipped it upside down it would be fine is that true?? Or are u positive bout that? Cuz if so I'm glad you said something bout it n ya I knew bout the rearend n the clip rearend I've got clip eliminators just for that ?

its a 73, the front bumper will be junk. a general rule of thumb, is that all bumpers pre-74(with the exception of a few poncho/olds) are basically chromed tin.

I have ran the rearend out of mine for a few years. Can't find axles for it though. 74-77 are good bumpers. 74-75 are better than 76-77

Sorry i didnt think about that with the bumper. the 73 and older are junk bumpers. mine was a 75, so it was still a decent bumper. Find a 74-76 GM bumper. Any steel backed GM bumper will do fine. Try not to use an impala bumper because it is a little too hard for this car though. Make sure to dimple the frame in the back, about 12 inches from the back. cut a " \__/ " shape out of the back tailgate so you can see when the back end starts to go up. These are the basic things i did to mine, and it held up good. I had a top 5 car at my derby(about 30 cars).

I'd personally remove the hatch all the way. These cars don't really have tailgates. I built mine pretty close to how I would build a metric gm wagon.

I'm trying to decide to leave hatch in or take out... Depends on your rules, if you can run threaded rod through it to the frame or floor, keep it. If not, I don't think it helps unless you can really tie it together..

Its too bad anything useful in this thread will be lost. To be fair the GM mid 70s midsize wagons and the squareback should have their own thread. To say they are basically the same because the fronts are the same as their sedan counterparts if like saying a 74 Caprice sedan is basically the same as a 74 Chevy wagon because the noses are the same.
