The 307s that I ran in the past had computers. I just left that harness unplugged. It will still run but it wont have any timing advance which is what the computer controls on the distributor. You will need to swap to a non electronic carb of some type. the computer controlled q jets are junk. They will run fine until they get hot and then will not refire, in my experience. it will often flood out to. i think the computer controls the idle mixture or something also.

They're junk. Haha had one in my wagon. Always ran great for me until a week before the show and decided it did not want to start. Messed with all sorts of crap and then gave up and put my sbc in it. Best decision I made

For anyone who ask what to do, it would be easier to just change the carburetor. Now days I change drivetrains, however years ago I ran what was in them. Just put a different carb on it, chain the motor down, and go have some fun. JMO

Just run a hotwire to the distributor cap/coil. Adjust the timing so it starts good when hot, chain the motor down good, and go have some fun. JMO
