There's a good thread on derbythis.com. I think it's in the beginner tips section.

Wrap it around several times then stick a tire iron( the style with a blade type screwdriver lookin thing in one end) in between the strand of wire and twist it till its tight, then twist it a couple more times. That style tire iron let's you slide it out easier.

wear gloves and get a small set of bolt cutters to cut it with, also I've wrapped the tips of any cut wire with duct tape........buddy of mine years ago got a nasty cut from a cut wire end.

How do wrap the end? I'm wrapping it from the door post down around the frame. But I'm not sure what do when I cut the end. Just wrap it around till there's none left?

Double the wire over fasten one end a vise fasten the other end in a drill. That will twist the strands together then when you twist the ends together you can use a big screwdriver or locking pliers. After its tight bend the ends as flat to the sheet metal as you can.

Open the chuck up all the way, stick both ends in there, tighten the chuck, hold the opposite (looped end) pull the trigger till both strands get tight, badda bing .
