I cannot weld anywhere on the trunk. I also must leave the speaker deck where it sits. I run Rouse Promotions' stock class rules. I have an idea of what to do, but any more advice is appreciated.

Hey guys my brother and I finally have the chance to run in a derby we were given a mid 70s lincoln and a early 80s lincoln they both have rusty rears the frames are ok but the sheet metal is semi screwed. These cars were free and we just want to have fun in them for our first demo. We are running wire class and can tuck the trunk and prebend and notch but no creasing. What do the fellas of wecrash suggest? Thanks

Try to tie everything together the best you can, and give yourself plenty of tire clearance. Maybe kind of wedge them and prebend the bumper to encourage it to go up.

Is it even worth it to notch or tuck trunk?

Tuck the trunk lid, use a cutoff wheel and remove the lower quarter panels behind the wheel well from the seam down (likely the rotted part). Then wrap the remaining quarter panels around at a 90 deg. angle. Pre bend your bumper upward and drill and run Alot of 9 wire to tighten it all up. Don't forget to dimple the frame to encourage packing.

Yes i would probably notch the 70's linc, and put a good size dimple(s) in the town car. check out the crown vics threads for the 80's linc.
This should have been asked first, what year/model is the 70's?

We are guessing a 74 lincoln continental its a fourdoor with a 460 and its stripped to the bone so I'm guessing on year there was nothing on or in it except a steering wheel so not much to go off of

Go to your PC's search engine, and look up Lincoln Marks. See if you can find one that looks like yours. That should help getting a better year of them.

I think Jimmy has used box Town Car trunk lids from some of his pics. Never had the privilege of getting to build a Mark 6 but I dont see why a box Townie or Merc trunk lid wouldnt work decent.
