ok i need some help from you mopar guys got a truck with a 318 tbi im a chevy guy and cant motor swap so need to know what i can do if anything to swap it to carb and get rid of computer crap is there any way you can run it like a hei chev? and toss all the junk.... ;D

put a points style distributor in it.

id swap out the intake and drop a points dist and done... 30 minute job... ;D

ok....sounds easy enough ;D ill do some junk yard diggin and see what i can come up with that sound be the easiest and cheapest way.....thanks guys

if you get an intake off a 360 you can bolt a 2brl chevy to it if your a gm guy.... if you get a 318 youll need an adapter or a 318 carb which kinda suck

If I'm not wrong the 305 and 350 carbs are different and the 305 Rochester bolts to the 318 and the 350 Rochester bolts to the 360

chevy 307 is also a small base carb

Mr Gasket has an adapter for it, they only drill it for one pattern but the blank is there so you can drill or mill it to accept both.

Change timing covers also, unless they made tbi timing covers with a block off plate for the mechanical fuel pump.

I just bought a 318 it came out of a 1988 dodge ramcharge I was think about leaving it Throttle body has any 1 ever ran the throttle body or should I just change the intake an put a Eledbrock on it?

I TOOK MY WIREFEED AND BUILT THE CORNERS OF THE STOCK 318 INTAKE UP THAN WELDED 5/16 STUDS TO THE TOP,SET A GROPP 2G CARB ON WITH DOUBLE GASKETS AND THE REST IS HISTORY...

I have a blue block 318 that someone modified to run in a 92 tbi truck. We made an adaptor plate to use a carb and points distributor, but looking back, it would have been easier to change the intake, which I finally got around to doing.
As for the fuel pump block off plate, should be able to make one, or buy one from an auto parts store or ebay.
