My fords seem to keep bending behind the crush box. It takes a while to bend but thats where everyone of them bends. I usually tilt at the box till they are level. Im not using a pulley protector or dp maybe thats why. Just kinda wondering if Im missing something. 2 letters: D-P Itll still go there but itll slow it down Pulley protector helps in front of the A-arms if you have a sway bar.......

I'm sure this has been talked about many of times but were do u tilt mostly, the crossmember or the crush boxes? I've always done it at cross member just cause I don't like touching the box, and what's a easy way to get the rear end down? All our shows u couldn't run low but this year they changed the rules.

Boxes are easy to tilt at, three tabs and she falls right down. And to get the back down squat it down and run chains around the rearend through the spring perches to hold it solid.

What's most of u Tilting these too? Have seen some 8 inches and some only 4 inches, just didn't know if it mattered if u went more or just a little bit It all depends where you set your azz. The lower you set your azz the more you have to pitch it to get it level. X2

Get your back set where you want it, then tilt. I would choose the box method, I think it's easier

Anyone have pics of the chain holding it down? Is it really just that easy? Figured there would be alot more to having the rear low. Makes me want to stick to running old iron like I always have haha

If I wasn't on my phone I'd post the link but go to the GM section and look at the tow package pic thread. There's a pic there with the hump chained.

The ZTR brackets are exactly how they need to be. No modifying them. All those do is make your 98+ a traditional 4 link system like a 97- Vic or a GM.
Once you have your rear in then you set your bumper height with the chain or all thread shocks. Once you have your bumper height, pitch the front to desired height.
I prefer to pitch at the boxes so the body bolt location stays the same.

If i could post pic on here i would but we weld a piece of pipe to the rear-end that the coil spring sets over and drill a hole threw it and bolt the chain to it. Then we run the chain up through the spring and spring tower and do the same on the other side. Then we bolt the chain together in the middle. This way you can adjust the height of the rear if you need too.

Your screen name is lowvic but you don't know how to make them low? Lol
No, you don't "need" the chain but if something happens to where your all thread breaks or stretches, etc it would be a good idea to have the chain so your car doesn't become a dragster in the azz or your springs don't go flying out.
