Do your rules say how much of the bracket/tubes can be welded to the frame? If not you are luckier than me and you have a lot of welding to do dissasemble the brackets from the tubes flip the brackets upside down and swap sides so the curve of the bracket matches the curve of the frame then shove them back so the tip of the frame horn touches the square shock tube support and weld it in place then you can run your shock tube on top of or inside the frame i suggest on top of the frame. then weld until you run out of rod lol. done correctly this is far better than simply hard nosing. Im building the exact same car right now ;D

Hey guys, just got a 78 grand marquis 2 door. Where is the best place to notch the back to prevent plowing? Maybe repost a photoshopped photo? Thanks! Attachments:

I got a 75 merc with the 3 link rear, I was planning on swapping it out and doing it like a newer ford watts setup but there's no package tray to bolt the brackets to just one single bar/ tube going frame rail to frame rail. It's a wire car and I dont wanna spend a lot of time on it so how are you guys setting up the rear or are you just running the factory 3 link. Thanks

I make a upper control arm for the drivers side and cut the bar out!

Derbyguy, if it were me, I would NOT hardnose it. I did it once and will never do it again. Welded a 74 Monte bumper that was all welded up onto the front of a 79 Lincoln which is pretty much the same front frame and it bent in ways I have never seen before! I have been running 70s Ford products since 95 and will never hardnose another one! Was the first front frame that ever went down on me on one side. Pretty disappointing and a waste of time for me.

77 LTD 4 door. Back bumper is rotten. How do these do with no back bumper?

C4, as long as the frame rails stay tied together and the frame is notched right, the cars I have ran with no back bumper tuck in and pack just fine.

Thanks. The rest of the cars is squeaky clean. Only the rear bumper is bad. Pretty stock rules. There is a support rail going from one side to the other right at the back. Is that sufficient to keep them tied together?
Also, is bolting a-arms a sufficient way to gain height on these?
I am sure a few more questions will pop up, as this will be my first non GM full size.
Btw, I did get lucky. It does have the 9" in it.

Based on the "drop it off at my house," I would guess it to be sarcasm
