All the Fomocos are rear steer until the panther platform I believe.

So, I have a few questions, very well could have missed them but are the 78 Lincoln’s rear steer, how much of the rear frame is c channel, are people switching out spindles for height? I don't believe a 78 has c channel rear frame. They did like gm an only early 70s has c channel

As far as spindles I've wondered if you could put Vic spindles on them and swap them side to side, but I have no idea if it works or has been done.

I had a 78, rear frame was not c channel. It was rear steer. We were fine height wise with factory components so I can't answer that.

If I was going to guess with out measuring the bolts the only ones that will bolt on will be 60s through 70. The 70s up to 90s look like bolts won't line up. But a 70s caddy should fit an they are rear steer so could swap everything.

With a SBC the fuel pump hits the engine cross member and the steering is close to the pan. I have set the engine back further and I've bent the steering down.

If your talking mark 5, the rear rails are fully boxed. Yes they are rear steer and vic spindles will help a little and will work just flip flop sides. We built one last summer and used suicide spindles and 7.00 15 on the front. Car at very nice.

No. Take your stock lower mounts and weld them to a piece of channel, like 1 1/2 inches tall. This will clear the steering, and allow the clearance for fuel pump mentioned elsewhere. I think I just centered mine on the engine cross member, but you could use this method to move engine back farther if needed. This was in a "stock class", so if you are going to run a dp, you will probably need an alternate method. On the two I have built, I tucked truck with a simple 90, and notched the frame where the rear frame gets taller somewhat near the bumper shock if I recall correctly. If you read through the thread though, I believe different methods of doing the trunk have been discussed.

Does anyone have any advice on the optimal rear bumper height of a leafed 75 Ltd? Mine appears to be somewhere lower than the front. In this thread it suggests that it should be level with coils, but nothing is mentioned about leafs. Thankyou.
