I think you have one of the toughest mopars as your first car, LOTS of endless potiental in them. Read all 9 pages and you should have a pretty good idea on how build one.

For the ease of the build you did not pick the best Mopar......but for the finished product if you're not afraid of some work then I'd say you picked one of the best.

I crank up the torsion bars and let it be. It sits high enough. I have had zero problems with ball joints on these and have taken a fair amount of wheel shots. The one thing I would do though is weld two pieces of strap on each side of the torsion bolt on the bottom side and remove the shock and weld that gap shut. I have fold the lower arm into a pretzel because of the lack of support. Good Luck!

working on a 79 doba, k member sucked tight (not welded), top frame seems welded firewall forward and bumper shocks extended back to the a arms and bumper hardnosed.... will a seam welded gran fury bumper be able to hold up a full hard run on a car like this or should i put the 74 imperial pointy on it, seem welded only... how long will it stay down with the pointy on the front? never ran a doba yet but have had bad luck with shockers and pointies... itll be ran in a fast paced team derby

I say put the pointy on it. That way you eliminate the bumper from the question when you ask yourself if the doba stayed down longer than the shockers. Are you allowed any cable, wire, chain, bolts? Anything like that?

I can bolt fenders and hood, and have 2 wraps of wire per window opening from roof to frame... no protectors but it will have a slider under it

I read thought most of these pages and didnt see where its covered. Is there a spot on a doba that if its rusty there to just walk away? Like on a shocker or Y framer you dont buy one if the rear of the back door jam is gone. Little new to these cars and I thought I'd ask.
