So is it worth time and effort to crease fresh 74 impala fenders for a limited weld class? Or just run it first and let it bend in? Im open for answers.

There are people for it and against it. Anything old iron (besides roundbacks) I feel like it makes the rear too "hard" and either helpsthe humps blow earlier or belly faster. JMO but I wouldn't crease it.

Anyone team 34 style the rear of these cars? And I'm also wanting to hardnose but it's a limited weld show. I'd like to hardnose strait to the frame(duh) but if the horns are taken off the frame is nearly under the radiator core support. Should I just drill the shocks, compress then weld? We can build a bumper as long as the outside skin looks stock. I know these cars aren't nosers but I would like to make the front as hard as I can. Thanks for any advice guys and gals!

Just a dumb question...... Is there and difference in Buick or olds bumper shocks vrs a Pontiac? Also I read that you dip the shocks does that also mean flip the bumper? Sorry if they are dumb questions not used to these styles of cars

I have a 76 impala im going to be running in a stock class. Just curious what to do with the trunk. Cant change body bolts, can wire trunk down and prebend. Was just worried that the trunk would mash up and get in the way of view. Any thoughts? Maybe just ditch the trunk lid?

Its unlimited so put it everywhere. U should use at least have 8-10 spots on the front and rear. Corners are a must and couple on the middle of each side. If u can't use all thread through the core support add a few more spots on the very front. Hope this helps Bart 2525

If you can't change body bolts I'd be wrapping it around the frame as much as possible.

Hey guys, I want to put a bar in my rear window from the top of the window to the seam of the trunk and the trunk deck. I have a bunch of old cutting edges laying around. I was just curious if you guys ever used cutting edges for this? It seems to me that a cutting edge might snap rather then gradually bend. Whatcha think? Would I be better off using angle iron. Rules allow "3 inch wide by 2 inch thick strap" whatever the hell that means.

cutting edge as in grader blades? they do snap, and are dangerous despite what people on here will try to argue. go with angle, really thick strapping or tube.

Other than being boxed in the middle, no they are the same. There is NO benefit to swapping a regular for a convertible.

unless you can run a crapload of protectors and/or kickers. that helps from bellying under the doors(as fast).
