ok so beings how it was a nice day out and i got everything done , like fishing for awhile, and putting the shack on the ice for a fisheree next weekend, i decided to mess with the blazer for a bit because im not the fastest at getting a car built before the night of a derby, i ran the thing for a bit and now when you give it the nuts to take off it booges out , nothing has been unplugged or changed i just ran it for a bit to put it in the garage. its pretty snappy in reverse but not in the forward gears. any ideas?

Is it still street legal as in you haven't ripped anything off or cut the exhaust. If you got a plugged cat, it will run like crap when on the gas. If it's outta gear, will it rev fine? Could be many issues, just need more details.

Hmm. Could be plugged fuel filter also or even a vaccuum leak. I'd try spraying either in through the intake while holding throttle wide open. If it's not raising rpm, loot at spark. I'm guessing it's a distributor-less but you tell me.

I will check those things out and see what happens, It does have a distributor too so I will change plugs and stuff

So it's older. I'd check even to make sure all the plug wires are snapped in and in the right order. A vehicle can run perfect at idle if it is out of time, but as soon as you give it gas, she'll spit and sputter.

Dakotas with a 318 work well, older the motor the better. I had a quarter of a million miles on mine and beat 18 guys in a 27 minute long heat. Gonna run it again.

I plan to run my dakota again at the bash this year. really just trying to kill the darn thing...lol. We was going to scrap it after the second run and never got around to doing it and I convinced myself to just fix it up and crush it the way I originally planned on. I'll be in the pre-run dakota number 22 if anyone wants to stop by and say hi.
