Takes a little redneck engineering to get a foxbody strut mounted, but it is doable.

The camaro rears are ok,not too weak. A chevette motor would be fine.Remember it's not the fastest or the hardest hitting car that wins,it's the car that stays together and stays running.Build it tough, they are good cars.

I just went to look at it and theres really nothing to derby. I was really looking forward to the looks and glares for driving one out on the track but I guess that will never happen.

Bummer. That's the only reason I haven't run a Fiero...fiberglass. I would like to try a Toyota MR2 though....same concept...mid engine, rear wheel drive, but with steel panels.

I've seen them run before. Much to my surprise it held its own for a quite a while. A buddy of mine drained all the fluids out of one to see how long it would last... 6 hours of hot rodding later with no belts the battery died. Motor was still fine but they gave up and crushed it.

Well, 5 runs in......not really impressed with either end of the car overall. On about the 10th nose hit, the right side frame rail did the accordion thing from the back of my bumper bracket to the front of the a-arm. Stretched that out & plated it. A few hits later, it dumped right behind the firewall. Pushed that back up and double pinned it. On the back, I dimpled and pre-bent. It started bending like it was supposed to, but then the left side dumped at the hump. Stretched that back out.Oddly enough, the spindles are about the only thing that has not given me any trouble. They are still perfect. Will hang onto it for next year, as the patched up nose still has life.

^^^^Build c-channel brackets to hold another control arm, so it would be like any other 4 link suspension, getting rid of the cock-eyed 4th link.......just a thought.
