Car was very rusty. Sat in the woods for 15 years with no windshield. We were going to get it just to keep the 9 inch and decided to build it. In the pics the horns and bumper were already torched off to get it off the trailer.

wow chief.. next time build a cage or leave the dash in her.. if shes that rusty.. or it may not be a next time leaving a dash in isn't always a bad thing if your not running a dash bar.. but from the picture I'd almost say you had a mopar in her which means cutting the hell out of the dash if you get another one of them cars hit us up.. with alittle work.. you would have won that derby, cause to get beat up that bad and keep going you got a good running motor.. now you got to get a car to hold up to the motor

Rules don't allow for a dash bar. Most of the severe damage came at the very end of the feature from the ass end of a 63 galaxie.

you'll should make a stand.. that cage is for drives safety.. I've never seen a cage win a derby.. it's down to skill of the drivers and who can keep it going the longest the sad thing is alot of derbies wont change there rules until someone get hurt.. and to tell you the truth..I'd look right at them and tell them a dash bar is the same thing as a dash in a car, but its safer cause it can't catch on fire and easyer to get around if there is a fire and if its like alot of derbys with low car count.. you tell them you'll load it up and take it home.. they change there minds alot of time.. they can't have a show without cars and safety is very important just my 2 cents
