I find it slightly odd that you can add steel just about anywhere you want but when the rules get down to the engine specs. "stock means stock". ? Effing joke right there. You can plate the frame but you can't do hardly anything at all to the bumpers? Save this car for a show that will allow you to mod and fab the front bumper. jmo.

Save this car for a show that will allow you to mod and fab the front bumper. jmo. theres another one that i am planning on running next year, but i think their rules are similar. my new "home" derby is what goes from these rules, and im sure that its loosely followed, as i know of many people that swap bumpers (ie my brother in laws subaru that had a 76 caprice bumper) the other show, you can do what you want to the engine, bumpers etc, but no frame plate.

can you guys help me out with my 67 newport? im pretty new to mopar im all about chevy but idk anything about mopar haha i want to put my sbc in it. is it possible is it hard any tips? what about the sub where exactly would you guys concentrate on the most?

im not singling anyone out, but people need to quit asking questions till reading the last 5 PAGES! on the old wecrash when i got a new car i would read 50 plus pages before i asked questions!!! go back and read the pages, you will learn that you need to focus on the Ys

hey easy guys, I'm with you when guys come on here and just ask for "tips" but this guy actually asked for specific help. He said he wants to put a sbc in his 67 Newport, now I just went back through the pages and didn't see this explained anywhere so it's a legitimate question.
Can anyone help him with suggestions on how to do this?

alright cool thanks kinda nerv about the chevy in a mopar but hell its worth a try =) Nothing to be nerv about just get the robbo mount and canoe the trunk and close up the Y put a FLAT bumper on the front I learned that the hard way and drive forward all night...

Have always ran compacts but can get this one cheap and I have a drive train set up. \ 62 is not the best year of the y frame cars from what i understand, but if its a stock show, and you have a good dependable drive train then it will be a good car to go out and have some fun with. id be careful if you have fancy parts on your motor because it might be wrapped like a christmas present with sheetmetal when your done. just chain as much and as tight as you can, and spend your time making sure it will stay running since you can spend it welding....if its your first big and its cheap its always worth it!
