But here's my opinions and suggestions (1) not everybody gets a good run or a lucky streak every time it's totally not the cars fault no need to be pissed. (2) take the huge super swamper things off the rear throw them away. Very far AWAY. (3)y framers take some serious time to learn how to build them. The guys that have them figured out can make them very strong. Us that don't suffer the consequences. My brother and I haven't figured them out yet either. (4) take the rear short leaf/trailer leaf deal pack thing off. Throw them away. It's just asking for a trunk disaster (E) I personally think dimpling/creasing a y framer sub was a bad idea. (7) you had some serious torsion bar issues going on that caused you detrimental problems before the car ever hit the arena. (8)the car just flat didn't run right. Me personally I woulda never pulled it off the trailer that day. (9) a y framer is not a gm. I suggest not trying to build it as if it was. I'm by no means a pro with gm stuff but I have been around the sport long enough that when I do see a gm go as many runs as that car did and I see video of it nosing a caddy I do start to wonder a bit. Case in point is video below. youtu.be/EOT5j2UenQo watch at 5:30 ok yes the caddy is already starting the upward motion. But moving it that much farther in one hit? I mean c'mon am I missing something? Is a cutless that bad ass?

yes on a bunch of that.... a Y Framer you really need to drive different than most cars... if your the kind of guy that flat foots it, y framers arent for you.. I like to run them backwards until i cant see then turn it around... but i NEVER take head to head shots with anything mid 70s... and i dont drive them straight in ther rear either...
A V-bumper on one is WAY TO MUCH...flat bumper and let it all push in and up...you can do a million diffent things on the ys... but they bent RIGHT behind the y everytime..

Anything to be worried about with the front suspension on these? Ball joints tie rods ect i rarely have problems with any suspension parts, once in awhile break a stock tie rod end, but usually old worn out stuff. just wiggle it and change anything that has a bunch of play....

will a SBC with a DP and tranny with with a tranny brace fit in a 71 fury without cutting out any firewall or tranny tunnel? does a guy dare space the sub any further form the body than he has to?

I know this has probably been covered before but please refresh my memory. I have a 63 newport and I know that it is basicaly the same as the Y frame chryslers but the Y is shorter and shaped way differant. What is the best way to set these up a pic or 2 would help alot. and dont say exactely the same as a Y frame, cause with the shape differances it wont be exactely the same. Just searching for input. I know these can be very strong cars so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Suck sub as tight as possible Team Seek and Destroy Well in most cases you would be right. Sucker down as tight as you can get. But if you need the room why not space out the mounts at the firewall? Have solid mounds that are tight but the mounts are 3" tall. Now look at how flat your frame sits infront!

I know these can be very strong cars so any input would be greatly appreciated. they may be dimensionally different but all the same strategies apply. You still would want to do things like plate the Y's closed, or stuff a bumper shock inside, or weld a bumper shock to the outside, etc etc depending on your rules and what you think would work well
