I have a 904 with a TCI reverse manual valve body... can I run that in a Derby? I've been getting mixed answers from friends... some say it'll be fine.. others say I'll blow the tranny apart due to high pressures... thanks in advance

I HAVE BEAT THE PISS OUT OF IT WITHOUT A PROBLEM.

Good deal... thanks alot guys.. that saves me from having to go buy a stock valve body.. I like the manual valve bodies because I hate messing with kickdown..

OK.. my uncle put together a 360 LA , with a cable shift 904 in his 65 dart gt... with a torque converter from a slant 6... the set up won't move the car and he claims that when he bolted the flexplate to the converter it pulled forward quite a bit... which would probably disengage it from the pump...my question is, is there a difference in depth from a v8 converter and a slant 6 converter? The setup should have never been put together like that, but that's what he had laying around so he used it..

I don't know what a "tune up" would be, but I buy the rebuild kits from TransStar. The complete kit with bands is usually around $120. You can buy all kinds of parts and rebuild kits from ebay too, also a great source for Mopar transmission parts is CRT (Cope Racing Transmissions) you can find them in a Google search

The setup should have never been put together like that, but that's what he had laying around so he used it.. first off the slant six is internally balanced and the 360 is externally balanced (this is a problem) and i am not 100 % sure but the slant six has a diff. size crankshaft hole for the converter to center in. the 67 and earlier trans. has a 19 spline input shaft and the later has a 24 spline input shaft the converter will go in but the splines will not turn the input shaft you need to get the right converter.

I have a 3.91, 4.11, and a 4.56. I like the 4.11. We use a pull type slave cylinder for the throwout bearing and a clutch from an Ag tractor. It's a 10.5 clutch with the metal buttons. Drill the center out and put in thechrysler splines with a stock pressure plate. Works flawlessly.

What are you guys getting the 3 speed trans' out of? I've thought about going to a 3 speed set up but want to do it all right when I do.
