In my experience they don't belly like a 73-74 will. They pinch the frame inwards in between the a arms and the firewall. I just wrecked my second 75 caddy last night and they both bent the same way they bellied between the firewall and crossmember. Nothing moved in front of the firewall on either one. I ran a pointy on both of them. Seems strange that you haven't had the 75s belly. The only welding allowed was top seam firewall forward. Maybe I just got lucky I don't know

Just got one home and got it on lift just a quick question. Do they all have a goofy pinion angle or is something messed up with mine. Seems to really be faceing down its nothing i can't fix just wondered if they are all this way

Or so I was told

Pinions point downward because under torque they go up. I had a street stock car I set the pinion too straight and it beat a hole through my driveshaft tunnel.

Doubled or taller/stiffer springs and shortening the lower control arms 2 inches will fix that problem.

75 coupe Deville Stock motor and build Would this rearend hold up to foam-filled 16" tractor tread tires. They weigh over 100 lbs each. Obviously would try to brake before changing directions. I skimmed the whole thread and read this is a tough rearend but crappy gears.

Should be ok for the rear. I think the foam filled you have are too much for ANYTHING. Especially will make the trans work harder which could lead to it failing. Might not be so bad if they're low profile.

Motor got hot and wouldn't run. Front of car is only bent in front of the A-arms and the rear is trashed.

Put your engine in the same place with or without a dp, just open up the firewall. And 75 and 76 just use a normal crossmember.
