When notchin 70s Impalas whats everyones opinion on where to put the 2nd notch. 1st goes rite behind bumper bracket but what about the 2nd one. On the hump side of the body mount or bumper side of the body mount

I have 76 Buick 2 dr and I tuck and notched it the first time but after the first run the passenger hump has a tiny kink and went down a little. I squatted the rearend about 3 in. this year I was thinking plate the hump that's kinked and rolling the rear up to the tuck and welding together the trunk and the bumper. Then maybe dropping the rear a little bit more. What do u guys think? Any advice would be great

Personally I never run them low. But we are not allowed hump plates or leaf spring conversions either.
To answer your question I would pull the rear frame back up, plate the humps, get the ride height up higher, and notch or dimple the rear frame.
On a stock type build, if the rear is a little higher than stock and the frame is notched or dimpled the bumper usually rolls and packs in nicely. Also the increased ride height helps once the car starts to belly out.
How you set it up the rear has allot to do with your rules on items like, hump plates, gas tank protectors, kickers, leaf springs, frame seam welding, ect.

So no one ever answered the question about the second notch/dimple, the first right behind the bumper bracket and the second on front(hump) side of the body mount or the back side?

Hump side, 6 inches back, small slit. Any farther back the trunk folds too high.

Any more pictures on what you guys do with your trunks. Our rules state the trunk cannot be attached to the floor and must remain in the stock location. : ( I need some ideas. I think what 23c did with that pontiac would work pretty good.
