Why in the world do you have a small 2 barrel cards on that motor? Wouldnt you want to run a nice 4 barrel card so it can breathe or cant anybody tune there own card anymore? Just asking!

My 2g feeds my elephants just fine, got a 2g on my 406, 355, and 383 stroker, not to mention on my chrysler 360 and 400. Throttle response is awesome and its a built in rev limiter...think about it, would you want throttle response and reliability while limiting how hard you turn it? My motors range from 10.5:1 compression to 14:1 compression. Ran 4 barrels and had nothing but trouble, but there are people on here who have them figured out and love em. Not trying to persuade you into a carb, but dont think a 2g cant feed a powerplant.

How much cfm is necessary at 3000 rpm and how much power is lost and where in the rpm curve is it lost with only running a 2g? If you can answer those you'll have the answer to your question.

I will make this comment one last time and Im sure that Joker14 and some of the other engine guys on here know a lil more than me. I have been a mechanic all my life, along with my father being a mechanic for 30+ years. With that being said, I work in the marine industry and many many 300-320 HP sbc engines used in boats run a marine version of the 2G..... I absolutely kills me when people think that a bigger engine needs a 4 bbl carb. Heck some of the 454s had 2 bbls on them... anyone that is even the slightest bit familiar with a boat know that the engine is completely surrounded by interior parts and completely enclosed in a "engine compartment", this is way more confined than a vehicle engine.... THEY BREATH PERFECTLY FINE WITH NO MORE THAN 4-6 HOLES,EITHER IN THE SIDE OF THE BOAT OR THRU THE ENGINE COVER BOX, THAT ARE NO BIGGER THAN 4-5 INCHES IN DIAMETER..... its not always the bigger carb to feed an engine but more the right fuel to air mixture.... correct me if im wrong but a 2g is 500-600 cfm and a quadrajet is 600-625 cfm... and thats with the secondarys open!

I totally agree, besides a rochester 2g goes up to 800cfm if you find the right one. my dad had a friend that worked at joe gibbs racing do a 2g rochester for his motor before gibbs changed to toyota, that thing has yet to fail on my dad, heck if my holley keeps giving me trouble i am going to borrow my dad's 2g rochester and put it on my motor.

My Holley 2bbl flows more than most 4bbls. Thinking of trying a 1bbl Predator next season.....
