I wasn't getting defensive or anything Stromi, just trying to explain the situation. That is one problem with the internet, you can't tell the tone of someones voice. lol
Alex, I had a 73 Rivy that I parted out. Coulda swore that it had a boxed frame, but I could have EASILY been wrong. Way too many head injuries. Lol

Depends solely on your body mount rules and hump plate rules honestly. Directly under the second trunk mount the frame will try to push down while the body pushes up. Behind the mount the c-channel will go up, in front of it to the humps will push down. The body will tent above that mount almost every time with stock mounts regardless of notches or dimples.

I have 1/2 in. All thread in body mounts with hockey pucks for spacers. And the body mount at end of full frame where it meets c channel have 3/4 allthread up thru trunk lid tucked.

Pics of my most recent 73 impala are in the 71-73 GM pics thread. You can see what happened to my trunk with 3/4" all-thread, no spacers and hump plates. The trunk ended up over the speaker deck, slightly up but mostly in, and the frame went down under both 2nd rear mounts and broke off when the section behind that went up. It waffled bad with no notches and a dry black frame with zero rust. They are unpredictable, but this almost always happens eventually.

Do not use the stock 73 cups to mount your front bumper. They put side to side stress on the frame rail and are apt to twisting the rail sideways in front of the a-arms, especially with loaded bumpers. Use 74-76 horns or hardnose without the horns.

I can't hardnose and I dont have the horns. Have a 74 impala bumper tho.

Look in the parts section. They are cheap and worth the purchase.

Stock class 71 Impala. Dimpling at the c channel. Notch closer to the hump or leave it? Will it roll? Thought maybe of doing a notch halfway across the top inside half of each framerail.
