Ok I got a question and some might think it's a stupid question but I'm just curious...has anyone welded there centers in with tires already on the rim? I'm thinking that it's a horrible idea but just curious if anyone has done it and it worked

Just did it last week on doubled skids with tubes. No problems yet!

Pull The valve stems the heat from the hot air can swell and blow a tire, if have tubes I wouldnt, speculate the weld will compromise the tube
Just because it has worked doesnt mean I'd try it

It works but take a soaked rag an put over stem to keep it cool. I have popped a tube once but was full center. A small center don't heat it near as bad.

I assumed small centers haha. Done it with the tubes fully inflated on about half a dozen tires now with small centers

Oh ya I forgot to say this is for small centers I wouldn't even try it with full centers lol Lol it was a compact ddonut rim. Wasn't a solid center. Didn't even check to see if the old 4.00 12 farm tire was tubed bv I had to put tube in them any way. But did pop it. It wasn't all melted like you'd think it was only a very small hole that it ended up putting in it. I wouldn't try it with my 3/8 full centers at all.

I have done it. Just threw a bag of ice on the rim and started welding. Pulling the valve stem is a good idea as well. But I didn't because I didn't want my tube to fall inside the rim.

Never done it before but I have 2 centres hanging on a nail in the shed waiting for my buddy to bring his torches over to cut them out. I would pull the centre out of the valve stem before I welded them in so they wouldn’t explode. Imo
