guess you got f--k big time !!! what a shame !! I wasn't the driver, just the guy that had a GoPro in his car. When I heard Tim say after "you gotta hit him" I was stunned. He hit the 31 THREE consecutive times! I don't understand what more they could have wanted. Hinen had this won, I feel so bad for him.

I watched the video. I get drivers use the door as a ploy, so it goes both ways. It's clear Hinen hits there intentionally to act like he's an aggressive driver, but braking or slowing the hit to be "safe". You blame it on the other driver as a door pull, so you have to brake on the hit or dont hit as hard. You have to be cautious, because it's a drivers door hit and you get blackflagged. He shoudn't have done that type of hit at the end. It's too obvious, and IMO, why he got Dq'd

My understanding from the video and Hinen himself was that Tim wanted him to hit harder and it had nothing to do with door hits. What I was told immediately after was that Hinen was DQ'd for not hitting the 31 hard enough. Hinen had no brakes and was trying to avoid a door shot and slow down on the last hit and Tim wanted him to hit Braun harder and that's why he had to break off.

My point is that he didn't hit worth a $hit the whole time, brakes or not. Call it smart driving, sure. When Hinen did hit, it was bunk as it was another deliberate door shot, that's what I'm getting at. Do I agree with how Smashit orchestrated the result, no, but I can see that side of it. The officiating of this event seems questionable. There is a long political history at Bash.

they broke 008 for safety, which i can agree with(it looked bad even from the stands)... his trans was ready to fireball.. it just so happened to be at the same time that hinen was broke off and 31 went from 3rd to first being stuck in a corner for a few minutes..
I definitely agree that tim needs to keep his ass off the wall. Don't get me wrong, they are really good promoters when it comes to organizing a show and getting things taken care of, but damn do they hire some "inspectors" and make some track side decisions....
Just saying, when IDENTICALLY built cars go in and one has to cut the car apart and the other is fine... won't even get into all of the hearsay, but its been the same hearsay for a few years and tyson combs mentioned something about it.
Glad the 1 shot classes have been keeping the show alive over the years, because the big 3 have been dwindling.

As far as inspection everything you heard was probably true they have way to many people up there with an opinion and no one fully in charge with a final say so besides russ and good luck seeing him in inspection. They made me and several people who were pitting around me cut the tilt out of our gas tank protectors and make it run up at a 90 instead of touching steel and remove the kicker from the GTP to the halo bar. Then right before I go back to reinspect a guy in the pits says russ says yall can weld everything back in if you wanna. So I go back to tech and the inspectors say yeah russ said everything is good yall can weld them back.So I guess the right group got it changed it's all in who you know. When I asked russ about it he basically told me that he can make whatever call he wants If that's the case he needs to be there when tech opens.

Wow. I didn't go this year, because I had better things to do... glad I didn't. Tim needs to stay away from the track. He has no idea how to officiate. Why did the 008 wagon get eliminated? The Brauns are good builders and drivers, but it also helps when you get handed wins... 008 had too much smoke, Tim said it was unsafe. Hinen refused to hit Brauns (or anyone) the whole time. He should have had his stick broke earlier but he shouldn't have had it broke when it did. Tim was trying to play to the crowd and it worked for a minute.

I had the same experience going through tech, I had to cut my GTP and rear end apart. As I was sitting in line for the heat guys have the same stuff I had and more not cut. Found out after the heat rules were changed half way through, no one came and told me a thing, nothing over the loud speaker. To me the issue is with the rules, poorly worded, hard to understand, "Unwritten rules" and the inspectors interpretation of those rules. If you have 8 guys inspecting and all those guys are on the same page on what is OK and what is not then I think things would run a lot smoother. However all 8 guys have a different idea of what each rules means and what is OK and what is not, and then Russ comes over and says something completely different.
I heard the tech guys don't even meet up and go over the rules before the show, they basically show up and start inspecting. These guys and Russ (Since he has the final say) need to go over every rule and have the same understanding them. Just my 2 cents.
