GENERAL RULES:
1. Drivers run at their own risk
2. Drivers must be 16 years or older, drivers under 18 must have notarized written consent of parent if parent is not present at check in.
3. No one is allowed in pits under the age of 16 - must have picture ID for proof of age.
4. Only derby vehicles and one tow vehicle in pits - no spectator parking in pits.
5. Drivers must wear a seat belt or harness, helmet, and eye protection at all times when in demo arena - long sleeves, jeans, and/or fire suit highly recommended.
6. No hot rodding in the pits, keep it at an idle.
7. DO NOT hit the driver’s door - it sometimes happens, but if it looks intentional or careless, you will be disqualified
8. Two fires in one heat you are done.
9. You are given 1 minute for aggressive hits, 1 minute for restarts and 1 minute if you are hung up - being hit, hitting the wall, or hitting disabled vehicles do not count.
10. NO sandbagging or holding!!! You will be disqualified!!!
11. All cars must enter west gate of fairgrounds at least two hours before event. Pit gate opens at 2 pm.
12. Judges reserve the right to disqualify any and/or all latecomers.
13. Drivers only must be present during inspection.
14. All drivers and crewmembers must attend the drivers meeting.
15. Judges reserve the right to re-inspect and disqualify any vehicle during event.
16. Any harassment of judges or Fair Board members by drivers or pit person will result in disqualification and being banned from any further Fair Board Sponsored events.
17. Disqualification results in forfeiture of entry fee.
18. Any questions: give us a call, if it doesn’t say you can do it, don’t do it - Call 1st.
19. JUDGE’S DECISIONS ARE FINAL!!!
GENERAL PREPARATION RULES: **These rules apply to all classes**
1. All glass, plastic, and pot metal must be removed from the vehicle - nothing may remain in the bottom of the doors or trunks and all outside hardware must be removed - i.e. mirrors, lights, chrome, molding, screws, fiber glass, etc.
2. All cars must be standard make with no reinforcement or alterations to the frame unless specified
3. All flammable materials inside the cab must be removed except necessary safety padding and seat
4. All vehicles must have a driver’s seat securely mounted to the floor
5. Safety padding is recommended around the driver’s area.
6. All vehicles must exhibit the ability to stop, THIS MEANS AT LEAST 2 WORKING BRAKES!!!
7. Vehicles must be safe to run and drive.
8. No dirty or vulgar language on vehicle.
9. Must have 12” x 12” (min) roof sign securely fastened with vehicle number visible or it will not run.
10. Vehicles may add protection over the driver’s window.
11. Original gas tanks must be removed from the vehicle.
12. Your fuel lines must be inside cab and may not go down through the floor and along the frame rail.
13. Electric fuel pumps are allowed.
14. Batteries must be securely mounted inside the cab and covered in a steel box.
15. Steel transmission coolers will be allowed.
16. ANY bolts, frame seats, battery boxes, fuel tanks, transmission coolers, etc. that extend through the frame or sub-frame will count as a body mount - please reference the class rules for how many are allowed.
17. Floor shifters and headers are allowed.
18. Trailer hitches must be removed.
19. Any attempt to cover frames by buffing, grinding, coating with grease, glue, mud, etc. will result in immediate disqualification.
20. Minimal pre-bending of body is allowed - NO tucking, wedging, or packing allowed - must have access for inspection.
21. Hoods must be open for inspection.
22. A 12” x 12” (min) hole must be cut above the carburetor.
23. NO split rims or studded tires.
24. Foam filled, doubled tires, and valve steam protectors are allowed.
25. Radiators must have a secured vented down and filled with water or ice only.
26. No snow, bar, or lug tires on drive wheels, regardless of tread condition.
27. Any combination of engine, transmission, and rear end may be used - SEE CLASS RULES.
28. Bends or bubbles on the frame or sub-frame may be fixed on pre-ran vehicles - it may not extend more than 2” past affected area. The frame may be patched with 3 gauge (¼”) or thinner. Check specific class rules for more instructions for that class.
29. If bumpers are removed, the bumper prods must be removed or trimmed.
BUILDER’S CLASS - Full Size

Cages
1. Cages are allowed, Dash bar 2” Min and 5” Max diameter is allowed with one kicker on each side to go from just behind control arms to dash bar, max of 1- 2x2 on each side.
2. Behind seat bars and door bars allowed 2” min and 5” Max diameter and cannot be attached to frame. Must be securely fastened or you will be told to remove it.
3. It is allowed to have 2” down bars from the Dash bar and behind the seat to the frame. Two off of dash bar and two off cross bar behind seat.
4. Dash bar may connect to the firewall in 2 spots 3”X1/4” max flat stock and cannot be placed within the dp. If you have a dp or mid plate, dash bar must be 6” away from firewall. Tranny/Bell housings must be at least 2” away from dash bar or any part of the cage. Dash bar must be at least 2” away from dp.
5. Halo bar no further back than 15” from center post on 4 door cars or 8” on 2 door cars. Can be welded to frame and bolted to roof. Hallo bar can be attached to the door bars.
6. You can have 4 down bars from the door bars only located within the front doors and straight down to rocker area to sheet metal only.
7. You can run a gas tank protector that must mount from the behind the seat bar 30” wide and can go to the sheet metal but must be within the frame rails and within cab compartment with no down bars and be off the floor 2”.
8. If you run a Halo bar down to the frame it counts as 2 of your down bars.
9. Total of 4 down bars to frame, and total of 4 down bars to sheet metal.
10. Extra reinforcing on drivers doors is mandatory. We want you to be safe and protected behind your reinforcement. All doors may be welded solid with 3” X 1/8” thick strap or chained shut.
Hoods and Trunk lids
1. Hood may be bolted in 8 spots; 4 to the frame and 4 to the sheet metal. The rod may run down through frame with washers on top and bottom. No larger than 4” x 4” washers.
2. The back hood bolts can have a 4” X ¼” thick triangle to help attach the rod to the frame on top.
3. Trunk lid may be welded solid with 3” X 1/8” thick strap or bolted every 3”. Trunk may be bolted in 6 spots; 4 to frame and 2 to sheet metal.
4. Trunk may have a 10” X 4” ¼” strap from bumper to the trunk.
5. You may tuck trunks. No sedagons, decking must be removed.
Frames and Body Bolts
1. Frame can be welded from the firewall forward, top and bottom. Body seams can be welded; 6 on, 6 off. K-frame can be welded solid.
2. May take out pucks and replace with 1” bolts.
3. Y framer can plate the y’s with a ¼”X16” plate, top and bottom and must touch the bumper.
4. 03 and newer can do a cradle swap with no torsion bars added.
5. Body bolts > You may remove pucks, front &back. You may add 3 extra body bolts per side which can also go to frame with a max of 6x6” washer. All bolts can be a max of 1”.
6. All Frame holes must remain open.
Core supports and cooling
1. Core support may have a 2X2 ¼” angle iron on the top of core support from fender to fender.
2. Radiator barrels or water barrels are okay.
3. Radiator Barrels must be factory size; cannot touch the frame in anyway; cannot be welded to the angle iron at all. Radiator protector plate can only be not more than ¼ thick plate and must be attached in the same manner as a radi barrel.
4. Bolted in 4 spots to core support or 4-4” welds to core support to hold it in place. Water barrels may be used but not both.
5. Max size of water barrel is 24” x 24” x 24” must be able to see all the way around barrel for inspection. Mounted by bolting through floor with washers- No welding washers.
6. May be braced forward to cage bar, no bracing to rear of car.
7. Must run vent tube under the car.
Fenders
1. May bolt fenders to wheel well up to 3/8” bolts, front and back. May fold fenders and weld. If you weld them, you can’t use the bolts. If you bolt them, you can’t weld them.
2. You may weld the front clip solid.
3. The fenders can’t be welded to the frame.
Windows
1. Windshield may have 2 bars 3” wide 3/8” thick max. no more than 6” on the firewall and 6” on the roof. May connect with 2 bars 3” by 3/8” max.
2. Cannot be connected to any hood or trunk bolt. Rear window may have 1-3” C channel by 3/8” max. No more than 6” on roof and 6” on the trunk or speaker deck.
3. You may have 9 wire in 2 spots in each window.
Bumpers
1. Bumpers may be bolted or welded solid. You may fully weld bumpers and brackets. Brackets on one side of frame only, either factory or 4” x 3/8 flat stock that follow the contour of frame to the furthest forward point of factory location of A arms.
2. Nothing can be put inside of frame to mount the bumper unless it came from the factory with it.
3. Bumpers are interchangeable with any mass produced car bumper.
4. Stock appearing bumpers; we will allow you to take any bumper apart, weld any material you would like to the inside of bumper and weld the chrome back on. Everything must be done inside of bumper, nothing on the outside.
5. No Home made pointy bumpers.
6. Old style Birds may add a 4 x 4 beam between frame rails but in line with core support. Beam cannot go farther back than factory core support location.
Drive Train
1. Motor and tranny of choice; in stock location.
2. Maybe welded or chained, the motor tie-down cannot exceed in front pulleys or 2: behind the heads to top or side of frame, 2X3/8” flat stock and cannot be laid flat on frame.
3. Mid plates cannot be tied to the frame in any way or be wider than the motor.
4. If you have a tranny brace, it must be mounted to cross member with factory tranny mount, free floating or 1 bolt or chained and dash bar must be 2” away from tranny tunnel.
Suspension
1. Rear suspension must remain stock, 80’s and newer may leaf or run a 22” hump plate that has to follow the outside contour of the frame.
2. Full floater rear ends are okay, double coils are okay on coil cars. Leaf spring cars have up to 9 leafs per side and may be clamped in 6 spots per side.
3. Must be factory springs out of a car and cannot be home made.
4. Rear end may be chained in 2 spots per side of car.
5. Coil springs may be wired in.
6. Upper and lower trailing arms maybe reinforce, but they still have to function in a factory manner.
7. The front suspension may be welded with 2 -2”X5” straps, Do not strengthen frame you can bolted or use spring spacers for height.
8. Tie rods may be reinforced, but must function in a factory manner.
CHAIN CLASS RULES

1. Chain only, no 9 wire or cable (3/8 chain Max).
2. If it is not specified in rules, don’t do it.
3. Cars not passing first inspection will have 1 additional opportunity to meet judge’s standards, no more.
Engine
1. Motor swaps are allowed.
2. No Engine cradles or engine protectors of any kind.
3. Motor mounts must be chained or welded as close to original location as possible.
4. Plates on frame cannot be more than ½ inch thick and not used for extra strength to the frame.
5. One strap or chain per side to tie motor down is allowed.
A. Straps can be no more than 2 inches wide and ¼ inch thick (No over welding).
B. Straps must stay flush with rear of motor mount and not extend beyond front pulley.
6. Front distributor guards can be used but must be attached to tie down straps (protecting distributor only).
7. No rear motor tie downs allowed (none).
8. Any motor mount or front distributor guard that is deemed extreme by the judges will be cut or trimmed or car will not participate.
9. After market throttles may be used as long as mounting brackets do not reinforce car in any way.
10. Stacks/Headers may be used.
11. If you don’t want to wreck an expensive motor, don’t put it in.
Transmissions
1. No transmission cradles, guards, bridges allowed.
2. Transmission cross members can be slid forward or back to accommodate transmission swaps.
3. If cross member is replaced - tube, channel, angle no larger than 2 inch x 2 inch by ¼ inch thick may be used.
4. Cross member must be bolted in or 2 inch max weld to frame on ends.
5. No adding extra cross members to extend short members from frame to frame.
6. After market shifters may be used as long as mounting brackets do not reinforce car in any way.
7. Transmission must be bolted or chained down.
8. Transmission coolers may be used, bolted or welded to floor only- not the frame.
9. No Steel or competition bell housings.
Rear Suspension/Differentials
1. No Leaf spring, coil spring swapping.
2. Coil spring spacers may be used.
3. Coil-over shocks may be used.
4. No Adding coil spring between third member and body.
5. Broken leaf’s may be replaced, no adding of leaf’s.
6. Factory width, thickness, length.
7. No solid suspensions.
8. Rear end housings may be interchanged.
9. Factory auto rear ends only; 5 bolt max.
10. No pickup truck or other differentials.
11. No plating, bridging, reinforcing of housings in any manner.
12. Factory Axles only.
13. Factory posi or welded third members are allowed.
Drive shafts
1. No slider shafts.
2. Any OEM factory combination can be used.
Wheels and Tires
1. Factory Wheels only.
2. No Aftermarket, reinforced/homemade wheels.
3. Valve stem protectors allowed.
4. Heavy ply tires are allowed.
5. No traction/digger tires allowed on drive axles
6. Tires may be tubed/screwed to rim.
Gas tanks / Fuel pumps
1. Steel, stainless or aluminum tanks only.
2. No plastic or boat tanks allowed.
3. Tanks must be securely fastened in back seat area without reinforcing car in any manner.
4. If gas tank protector is used, it must be to protect the tank and driver, not to reinforce car in any manner.
5. Gas tank protector must be no more than 2 inches larger than the tank.
6. Electric fuel pumps may be used.
Steering/ Front Suspension
1. A knuckle may be added to OEM shaft.
2. Removable steering wheels and/ or padded/ taped wheels may be used.
3. No Aftermarket columns except for top half for removable wheel.
4. Front A-frame cannot be reinforced.
5. No filling with round stock, angle, tube, etc.
6. A-frames may be welded/bolted to frame to hold up suspension or strapped down if upper A-arms are aluminum.
7. Any welding deemed excessive by judges will be cut.
8. Factory OEM steering boxes and tie rods must be used.
9. Torsion bars may be turned up for height.
Rear bumpers, Trunk lids and Rear frames
1. Rear bumpers must be chained to trunk lid or removed.
2. Two loops of chain from bumper through trunk lid must be used.
3. Four more chains may be added from trunk lid to fenders (Not down to frame).
4. One ¾ Max diameter threaded rod from center of trunk lid through trunk floor may be added (Not to frame) if trunk floor is rotted out, no bolt.
5. No notching, pre-bending or welding on rear frame.
6. No trunk lid or fender tucking or folding.
7. No bars, tubes or chains in back window opening (period).
8. Cars must remain as stock looking as possible
Front bumpers
1. Any factory OEM car bumper may be used.
2. No angle, channel, tube or other homemade bumpers allowed.
3. No stuffing, filling or tweaking bumpers.
4. Bumpers must be welded to front of frames only.
5. No extending bumper out.
6. Must be welded as close to front of frame as possible.
7. ¼ inch max thickness tabs may be added from frame to bumper on each frame side (Only 4 inches can be welded to frame on each side, 8 inches per side total.
8. Any amount of welding or steel the judges deem excessive (will be cut).
Hood, Front Fenders and front clips
1. 2 chains through hood around front bumper allowed.
2. 4 more chains may be added from hood through fenders (Not to frame).
3. Hoods may be tucked over core support to bumper.
4. One bolt 6 inches by ¾ inch max with 2 washers ¼ inch by 4-inch mas allowed through hood and top of fender on each side to help keep hood down is allowed.
5. Bolting hood to fenders only.
6. 2 front core support bolts may be changed out with ¾ inch max diameter bolts or threaded rod used only to hold core support down to frame, 6-inch maximum length, cannot extend along radiator mount. Nothing through hood.
7. Front clip cannot be bolted, welded or chained down to frame Period.
8. Hole must be cut in center of hood at least 2 inches larger than air cleaner for fire purposed.
9. No additional steel, tube, angle, channel etc. added to top of core support, fenders or stuffing of fenders allowed (none).
Batteries/Battery boxes
1. One or two (MAX) batteries allowed.
2. Batteries must be in a steel box, covered and secured to the judge’s standards.
3. Battery box must be welded or bolted to the floor securely (not to or through the frame).
Cooling
1. Radi barrel may be used no more than 3” thick and can only be bolted to core support and must be min of one inch off the frame (No water barrels)
2. Radiators must be bolted to core support only (no welding).
3. Bolted in with four ½ inch diameter bolts only.
4. If steamer is used, it must be securely restrained downward under the engine cross member toward the front of the vehicle.
Inside safety cage/Roof
1. Dash bar with kicker on each side running to bar behind seat is allowed.
2. Six-inch square/round diameter material max, ½ inch thick max.
3. Nothing running forward from dash bar anywhere or to anything except 2 tabs going up to the dash, 4-inch-wide max, 10 ga thick max.
4. Bar behind the seat cannot extend more than 12 inches beyond back of seat.
5. Bar behind seat can sit on tranny hump or be up to 12 inches up on door posts.
6. One kicker on each side can come from door post to bar behind seat at angle to center of bar 4-inch weld (pad) at each location (door post/hump) may be used.
7. Door bars cannot extend beyond dash bar or seat bar.
8. No down bars to floor from cage in any location.
9. 1 tube/pipe may run from bar behind seat to roof in middle of car.
10. You may gusset corners of cage to itself for strength.
11. Six-inch max square, triangle, flat gussets may be used 3/8-inch-thick max.
12. If roll bars are used roll bars must be inside of the roof and attached to floating cage only.
Doors
1. Drivers door must be welded.
2. Rub rail may be welded to driver’s door not to extend more than 1 inch onto front fender or 3 inches back from driver’s door, not to extend more than 2 inches out from driver’s door.
3. A cage or mesh should be welded on driver’s side window.
4. Steel mesh or bars are recommended for windshield opening (for driver’s safety, not reinforcement).
5. All other doors must be chained shut (securely) minimum 3 chains per door, Bottom chain may go around frame and rocker.
6. Front passenger door should have chain from roof to door on the inside, may attach to bottom chain.
7. Chains must be bolted together, not welded to door or each other.
Frames/Floors
1. Frames must be stock (No Tipping, bending or Modifications).
2. No filling, plating, bridging rear frame hump.
3. No frame swapping.
4. Four ¾ inch max diameter bolts may be added from floor through frame/subframe in drivers and front passenger area using no more than two ¼ x 4-inch washers per bolt, No welding of washers.
5. Body bolts may be replaced but must be in factory position, no larger than ½ bolts.
6. No frame patching.
7. Minor floor patching allowed, up to 12-inch patch, 10-gauge max.
8. Must leave what is left of bad floor under patch for judges to see, weld over – don’t cut out (one-inch lap on to good metal only, do not attach to frame).
9. No welding, stuffing, plating, tilting, doubling, lapping, filling, lengthening, shortening frame.
10. No extra welding, bolts, chains, wire etc. allowed.
11. If car is too rusty, leave at home.
Station Wagons
1. Tail gates must be chained to fenders and around rear window posts.
2. No pre-bending or creasing roofs.
3. No chains, wire, threaded rod from roof to rear floor or hatches nothing going to or through frame.
COMPACT/SMALL TRUCK RULES

1. Welding from center of front wheels forward permitted. This is the only frame welding allowed.
2. Patch and pucker frame. 6” long ¼” thick plate outside of frame only, 8”between patches.
3. No frame swaps. No Imperial sub frames, K frames, etc. Stock only!
4. Stock bumpers only. Make sure bumper can cover your beam. No pointy bumpers.
5. Must have a hood and must be bolted down in max of six places using 1” rod, 6” washers max. 12” x 12” opening in the hood above the carburetor. All doors must be welded shut. Eight 4” x 4” pads per door.
6. Roll bars allowed inside the cab only, can be attached to floating cage, cannot be attached to frame. In the box can be attached to floor of the box, cannot attach to cab cage or frame. Kickers can go back to front of rear axle.
7. Dash bar 3” max, door bars and rear cab bars are allowed. No kickers down to the frame.
8. Cab reinforcement must remain separate from the box.
9. Gear protection in the box cannot be attached to the cab, box front, sides or rear.
10. Tailgate must be welded to the box. Factory tailgates only.
11. No stuffing of body panels (fenders, box sides, etc.)
12. Rear bumpers that are removed, must have frame rails capped using channel or angle, not to extend further than frame rail width.
13. Prior run trucks must meet rules.
14. May add an additional eight body bolts total, other than factory locations in cab and box. 6” washers max.
15. 4 x 4’s must have front driveshaft removed.
16. Dodge Dakota’s are allowed. No full size trucks allowed.
17. Motor mounts may be welded. Two additional straps or chains can be added. Must be behind water pump, but in front of the carburetor.
18. Radi-barrels must be inside frame rails (top and bottom) may be welded or bolted in, 3” thick outside to outside max and vented down.
19. No homemade spring packs – leafs only.
20. If it doesn’t say you can do it don’t! (It is not allowed!)
21. Look at the general rules as they apply to every pit person and the driver.
SEMI-STOCK BIG TRUCKS
1. Up to ¾ tons. Frames under 7” tall, not more than ¼ thick. No Imperial subs, K frames, etc. No double frames, 4x4’s must remove front drive shafts.
2. Welding from center of front wheels forward permitted. This is the only frame welding allowed unless stated.
3. Driver’s door may be reinforced, but not to extend more than 2”from original body or 5” past front and rear door seams.
4. Must have a dash bar and door bars. Bars may be attached to each other and to frame. Three down bars allowed per side. Front bars can angle to firewall, others straight down. Up to 5” diameter tubing with 6” mounting plates. May have a bar outside of both doors not to exceed 4” past door itself. Get carried away and you will cut.
5. Cab may be fastened down with additional bolts.
6. Box and cab may be bolted together, with six bolts maximum (doesn’t count towards the 12 box bolts). Up to 1”in size with a maximum 4” x 4” washer.
7. Box may have up to 12 bolts to frame. U-bolts count as two bolts. Up to 1” in size with a maximum 4” x 4” x ¼” plate.
8. Box and cab can be seam welded.
9. Tailgates must be welded on and in stock position. IF TAILGATE FALLS OFF, YOU ARE DISQUALIFIED! Factory tailgates only, No flapping of boxes.
10. One strap per side may be welded over taillight holes. Max of 4”wide, ¼ thick. May not exceed 3” beyond each side of light hole.
11. Radi-barrels must be inside frame rails (top and bottom). They may be welded or bolted. The barrels can be up to 3” thick outside to outside and must be vented down.
12. Hoods must have 12”x12” hole in the center. Held down with six 1” rods and only one bolt on each frame rail behind center of wheels can be welded to frame rail with not more than 6” to be welded to frame. That one bolt must be in front of the most forward place of the firewall Must have hood on truck!
13. If floor is not there, you may weld in a floor not to exceed 1/8” thickness and may not be welded to the frame. Judges will have a drill and if in question, it will be checked.
14. Gas tanks: stock tanks must be removed. Trucks must have tank in the box and in front of the rear axle. Max 6 gallon tank and must be securely fastened. No plastic tanks, No ratchet straps, bungee cords or zip ties allowed.
15. Engine in vehicle does not have to be of same manufacturer as the body. Motor mounts may be welded. Any attaching of motors or cradles must be in front of center of front wheels.
16. No pointy bumpers!
17. Rear bumpers that are removed must have frame rails capped using 4” channel or angle, not to extend further than frame rail width.
18. Suspension welding allowed- NO LIFT KITS. Suspensions must be in stock position. May build leaf packs but must be of automotive type.
19. May have roll bar behind cab, Roll bar can be bolted to frame but bolts count as part of the box’s 12 bolts. May have two angled down bars no further back than the front of the rear wheel wells. Nothing past the front of the rear wheel wells.
20. Patch and pucker frame. 6” long ¼” thick plate outside of frame only, 8” between patches.
21. No stuffing of frames, side panel box, fenders, etc.
22. Look at the general rules as they apply to every pit person and the driver.
23. 30” is the Max height to the bottom frame in the front and the rear can be no more than 6” lower than the front.

Engine
1. Motor swaps are allowed.
2. No Engine cradles or engine protectors of any kind.
3. Motor mounts must be chained or welded as close to original location as possible.
4. Plates on frame cannot be more than ½ inch thick and not used for extra strength to the frame.
5. One strap or chain per side to tie motor down is allowed.
A. Straps can be no more than 2 inches wide and ¼ inch thick (No over welding).
B. Straps must stay flush with rear of motor mount and not extend beyond front pulley.
6. Front distributor guards can be used but must be attached to tie down straps (protecting distributor only).
7. No rear motor tie downs allowed (none).
8. Any motor mount or front distributor guard that is deemed extreme by the judges will be cut or trimmed or car will not participate.
9. After market throttles may be used as long as mounting brackets do not reinforce car in any way.
10. Stacks/Headers may be used.
11. If you don’t want to wreck an expensive motor, don’t put it in.
Transmissions
1. No transmission cradles, guards, bridges allowed.
2. Transmission cross members can be slid forward or back to accommodate transmission swaps.
3. If cross member is replaced - tube, channel, angle no larger than 2 inch x 2 inch by ¼ inch thick may be used.
4. Cross member must be bolted in or 2 inch max weld to frame on ends.
5. No adding extra cross members to extend short members from frame to frame.
6. After market shifters may be used as long as mounting brackets do not reinforce car in any way.
7. The shifter must be mounted out of reach of the person running the steering wheel.
8. Transmission must be bolted or chained down.
9. Transmission coolers may be used, bolted or welded to floor only- not the frame.
10. No Steel or competition bell housings.
Rear Suspension/Differentials
1. No Leaf spring, coil spring swapping.
2. Coil spring spacers may be used.
3. Coil-over shocks may be used.
4. No Adding coil spring between third member and body.
5. Broken leaf’s may be replaced, no adding of leaf’s.
6. Factory width, thickness, length.
7. No solid suspensions.
8. Rear end housings may be interchanged.
9. Factory auto rear ends only; 5 bolt max.
10. No pickup truck or other differentials.
11. No plating, bridging, reinforcing of housings in any manner.
12. Factory Axles only.
13. Factory posi or welded third members are allowed.
Drive shafts
1. No slider shafts.
2. Any OEM factory combination can be used.
Wheels and Tires
1. Factory Wheels only.
2. No Aftermarket, reinforced/homemade wheels.
3. Valve stem protectors allowed.
4. Heavy ply tires are allowed.
5. No traction/digger tires allowed on drive axles
6. Tires may be tubed/screwed to rim
Gas tanks / Fuel pumps
1. Steel/stainless steel or aluminum tanks only.
2. No plastic or boat tanks allowed.
3. Tanks must be securely fastened in back seat area without reinforcing car in any manner.
4. If gas tank protector is used, it must be to protect the tank and driver, not to reinforce car in any manner.
5. Gas tank protector must be no more than 2 inches larger than the tank.
6. Electric fuel pumps may be used.
Steering/ Front Suspension
1. A knuckle may be added to OEM shaft.
2. Removable steering wheels and/ or padded/ taped wheels may be used.
3. No Aftermarket columns except for top half for removable wheel.
4. Front A-frame cannot be reinforced.
5. No filling with round stock, angle, tube, etc.
6. A-frames may be welded/bolted to frame to hold up suspension or strapped down if upper A-arms are aluminum.
7. Any welding deemed excessive by judges will be cut.
8. Factory OEM steering boxes and tie rods must be used.
9. Torsion bars may be turned up for height.
Rear bumpers, Trunk lids and Rear frames
1. Rear bumpers must be chained to trunk lid or removed.
2. Two loops of chain from bumper through trunk lid must be used.
3. Four more chains may be added from trunk lid to fenders (Not down to frame).
4. One ¾ Max diameter threaded rod from center of trunk lid through trunk floor may be added (Not to frame) if trunk floor is rotted out, no bolt.
5. No notching, pre-bending or welding on rear frame.
6. No trunk lid or fender tucking or folding.
7. No bars, tubes or chains in back window opening (period).
8. Cars must remain as stock looking as possible
Front bumpers
1. Any factory OEM car bumper may be used.
2. No angle, channel, tube or other homemade bumpers allowed.
3. No stuffing, filling or tweaking bumpers.
4. Bumpers must be welded to front of frames only.
5. No extending bumper out.
6. Must be welded as close to front of frame as possible.
7. ¼ inch max thickness tabs may be added from frame to bumper on each frame side (Only 4 inches can be welded to frame on each side, 8 inches per side total.
8. Any amount of welding or steel the judges deem excessive (will be cut).
Hood, Front Fenders and front clips
1. 2 chains through hood around front bumper allowed.
2. 4 more chains may be added from hood through fenders (Not to frame).
3. Hoods may be tucked over core support to bumper.
4. One bolt 6 inches by ¾ inch max with 2 washers ¼ inch by 4-inch mas allowed through hood and top of fender on each side to help keep hood down is allowed.
5. Bolting hood to fenders only.
6. 2 front core support bolts may be changed out with ¾ inch max diameter bolts or threaded rod used only to hold core support down to frame, 6-inch maximum length, cannot extend along radiator mount. Nothing through hood.
7. Front clip cannot be bolted, welded or chained down to frame Period.
8. Hole must be cut in center of hood at least 2 inches larger than air cleaner for fire purposed.
9. No additional steel, tube, angle, channel etc. added to top of core support, fenders or stuffing of fenders allowed (none).
Batteries/Battery boxes
1. One or two (MAX) batteries allowed.
2. Batteries must be in a steel box, covered and secured to the judge’s standards.
3. Battery box must be welded or bolted to the floor securely (not to or through the frame).
Cooling
1. Radi barrel may be used no more than 3” thick and can only be bolted to core support and must be min of one inch off the frame (No water barrels)
2. Radiators must be bolted to core support only (no welding).
3. Bolted in with four ½ inch diameter bolts only.
4. If steamer is used, it must be securely restrained downward under the engine cross member toward the front of the vehicle.
Inside safety cage/Roof
1. Dash bar with kicker on each side running to bar behind seat is allowed.
2. Six-inch square/round diameter material max, ½ inch thick max.
3. Nothing running forward from dash bar anywhere or to anything except 2 tabs going up to the dash, 4-inch-wide max, 10 ga thick max.
4. Bar behind the seat cannot extend more than 12 inches beyond back of seat.
5. Bar behind seat can sit on tranny hump or be up to 12 inches up on door posts.
6. One kicker on each side can come from door post to bar behind seat at angle to center of bar 4-inch weld (pad) at each location (door post/hump) may be used.
7. Door bars cannot extend beyond dash bar or seat bar.
8. No down bars to floor from cage in any location.
9. 1 tube/pipe may run from bar behind seat to roof in middle of car.
10. You may gusset corners of cage to itself for strength.
11. Six-inch max square, triangle, flat gussets may be used 3/8-inch-thick max.
12. If roll bars are used roll bars must be inside of the roof and attached to floating cage only.
Doors
1. Both drivers and passenger door must be welded.
2. Rub rail may be welded to both driver’s and passenger doors not to extend more than 1 inch onto front fender or 3 inches back from doors, not to extend more than 2 inches out from driver’s door.
3. A cage or mesh should be welded on both driver’s and passenger side windows.
4. Steel mesh or bars are recommended for windshield opening (for both operators safety, not reinforcement).
5. All other doors must be chained shut (securely) minimum 3 chains per door, Bottom chain may go around frame and rocker.
6. Chains must be bolted together, not welded to door or each other.
Frames/Floors
1. Frames must be stock (No Tipping, bending or Modifications).
2. No filling, plating, bridging rear frame hump.
3. No frame swapping.
4. Four ¾ inch max diameter bolts may be added from floor through frame/subframe in drivers and front passenger area using no more than two ¼ x 4-inch washers per bolt, No welding of washers.
5. Body bolts may be replaced but must be in factory position, no larger than ½ bolts.
6. No frame patching.
7. Minor floor patching allowed, up to 12-inch patch, 10-gauge max.
8. Must leave what is left of bad floor under patch for judges to see, weld over – don’t cut out (one-inch lap on to good metal only, do not attach to frame).
9. No welding, stuffing, plating, tilting, doubling, lapping, filling, lengthening, shortening frame.
10. No extra welding, bolts, chains, wire etc. allowed.
11. If car is too rusty, leave at home.
Station Wagons
1. Tail gates must be chained to fenders and around rear window posts.
2. No pre-bending or creasing roofs.
3. No chains, wire, threaded rod from roof to rear floor or hatches nothing going to or through frame.

GENERAL RULES:
1. Drivers run at their own risk
2. Drivers must be 16 years or older, drivers under 18 must have notarized written consent of parent if parent is not present at check in.
3. No one is allowed in pits under the age of 16 - must have picture ID for proof of age.
4. Only derby vehicles and one tow vehicle in pits - no spectator parking in pits.
5. Drivers must wear a seat belt or harness, helmet, and eye protection at all times when in demo arena - long sleeves, jeans, and/or fire suit highly recommended.
6. No hot rodding in the pits, keep it at an idle.
7. DO NOT hit the driver’s door - it sometimes happens, but if it looks intentional or careless, you will be disqualified
8. Two fires in one heat you are done.
9. You are given 1 minute for aggressive hits, 1 minute for restarts and 1 minute if you are hung up - being hit, hitting the wall, or hitting disabled vehicles do not count.
10. NO sandbagging or holding!!! You will be disqualified!!!
11. All cars must enter west gate of fairgrounds at least two hours before event. Pit gate opens at 2 pm.
12. Judges reserve the right to disqualify any and/or all latecomers.
13. Drivers only must be present during inspection.
14. All drivers and crewmembers must attend the drivers meeting.
15. Judges reserve the right to re-inspect and disqualify any vehicle during event.
16. Any harassment of judges or Fair Board members by drivers or pit person will result in disqualification and being banned from any further Fair Board Sponsored events.
17. Disqualification results in forfeiture of entry fee.

GENERAL PREPARATION RULES: **These rules apply to all classes**
1. All glass, plastic, and pot metal must be removed from the vehicle - nothing may remain in the bottom of the doors or trunks and all outside hardware must be removed - i.e. mirrors, lights, chrome, molding, screws, fiber glass, etc.
2. All cars must be standard make with no reinforcement or alterations to the frame unless specified
3. All flammable materials inside the cab must be removed except necessary safety padding and seat
4. All vehicles must have a driver’s seat securely mounted to the floor
5. Safety padding is recommended around the driver’s area.
6. All vehicles must exhibit the ability to stop, THIS MEANS AT LEAST 2 WORKING BRAKES!!!
7. Vehicles must be safe to run and drive.
8. No dirty or vulgar language on vehicle.
9. Must have 12” x 12” (min) roof sign securely fastened with vehicle number visible or it will not run.
10. Vehicles may add protection over the driver’s window.
11. Original gas tanks must be removed from the vehicle.
12. Your fuel lines must be inside cab and may not go down through the floor and along the frame rail.
13. Electric fuel pumps are allowed.
14. Batteries must be securely mounted inside the cab and covered in a steel box.
15. Steel transmission coolers will be allowed.
16. ANY bolts, frame seats, battery boxes, fuel tanks, transmission coolers, etc. that extend through the frame or sub-frame will count as a body mount - please reference the class rules for how many are allowed.
17. Floor shifters and headers are allowed.
18. Trailer hitches must be removed.
19. Any attempt to cover frames by buffing, grinding, coating with grease, glue, mud, etc. will result in immediate disqualification.
20. Minimal pre-bending of body is allowed - NO tucking, wedging, or packing allowed - must have access for inspection.
21. Hoods must be open for inspection.
22. A 12” x 12” (min) hole must be cut above the carburetor.
23. NO split rims or studded tires.
24. Foam filled, doubled tires, and valve steam protectors are allowed.
25. Radiators must have a secured vented down and filled with water or ice only.
26. No snow, bar, or lug tires on drive wheels, regardless of tread condition.
27. Any combination of engine, transmission, and rear end may be used - SEE CLASS RULES.
28. Bends or bubbles on the frame or sub-frame may be fixed on pre-ran vehicles - it may not extend more than 2” past affected area. The frame may be patched with 3 gauge (¼”) or thinner. Check specific class rules for more instructions for that class.
29. If bumpers are removed, the bumper prods must be removed or trimmed.
BUILDER’S CLASS - Full Size

Cages
1. Cages are allowed, Dash bar 2” Min and 5” Max diameter is allowed with one kicker on each side to go from just behind control arms to dash bar, max of 1- 2x2 on each side.
2. Behind seat bars and door bars allowed 2” min and 5” Max diameter and cannot be attached to frame. Must be securely fastened or you will be told to remove it.
3. It is allowed to have 2” down bars from the Dash bar and behind the seat to the frame. Two off of dash bar and two off cross bar behind seat.
4. Dash bar may connect to the firewall in 2 spots 3”X1/4” max flat stock and cannot be placed within the dp. If you have a dp or mid plate, dash bar must be 6” away from firewall. Tranny/Bell housings must be at least 2” away from dash bar or any part of the cage. Dash bar must be at least 2” away from dp.
5. Halo bar no further back than 15” from center post on 4 door cars or 8” on 2 door cars. Can be welded to frame and bolted to roof. Hallo bar can be attached to the door bars.
6. You can have 4 down bars from the door bars only located within the front doors and straight down to rocker area to sheet metal only.
7. You can run a gas tank protector that must mount from the behind the seat bar 30” wide and can go to the sheet metal but must be within the frame rails and within cab compartment with no down bars and be off the floor 2”.
8. If you run a Halo bar down to the frame it counts as 2 of your down bars.
9. Total of 4 down bars to frame, and total of 4 down bars to sheet metal.
10. Extra reinforcing on drivers doors is mandatory. We want you to be safe and protected behind your reinforcement. All doors may be welded solid with 3” X 1/8” thick strap or chained shut.
Hoods and Trunk lids
1. Hood may be bolted in 8 spots; 4 to the frame and 4 to the sheet metal. The rod may run down through frame with washers on top and bottom. No larger than 4” x 4” washers.
2. The back hood bolts can have a 4” X ¼” thick triangle to help attach the rod to the frame on top.
3. Trunk lid may be welded solid with 3” X 1/8” thick strap or bolted every 3”. Trunk may be bolted in 6 spots; 4 to frame and 2 to sheet metal.
4. Trunk may have a 10” X 4” ¼” strap from bumper to the trunk.
5. You may tuck trunks. No sedagons, decking must be removed.
Frames and Body Bolts
1. Frame can be welded from the firewall forward, top and bottom. Body seams can be welded; 6 on, 6 off. K-frame can be welded solid.
2. May take out pucks and replace with 1” bolts.
3. Y framer can plate the y’s with a ¼”X16” plate, top and bottom and must touch the bumper.
4. 03 and newer can do a cradle swap with no torsion bars added.
5. Body bolts > You may remove pucks, front &back. You may add 3 extra body bolts per side which can also go to frame with a max of 6x6” washer. All bolts can be a max of 1”.
6. All Frame holes must remain open.
Core supports and cooling
1. Core support may have a 2X2 ¼” angle iron on the top of core support from fender to fender.
2. Radiator barrels or water barrels are okay.
3. Radiator Barrels must be factory size; cannot touch the frame in anyway; cannot be welded to the angle iron at all. Radiator protector plate can only be not more than ¼ thick plate and must be attached in the same manner as a radi barrel.
4. Bolted in 4 spots to core support or 4-4” welds to core support to hold it in place. Water barrels may be used but not both.
5. Max size of water barrel is 24” x 24” x 24” must be able to see all the way around barrel for inspection. Mounted by bolting through floor with washers- No welding washers.
6. May be braced forward to cage bar, no bracing to rear of car.
7. Must run vent tube under the car.
Fenders
1. May bolt fenders to wheel well up to 3/8” bolts, front and back. May fold fenders and weld. If you weld them, you can’t use the bolts. If you bolt them, you can’t weld them.
2. You may weld the front clip solid.
3. The fenders can’t be welded to the frame.
Windows
1. Windshield may have 2 bars 3” wide 3/8” thick max. no more than 6” on the firewall and 6” on the roof. May connect with 2 bars 3” by 3/8” max.
2. Cannot be connected to any hood or trunk bolt. Rear window may have 1-3” C channel by 3/8” max. No more than 6” on roof and 6” on the trunk or speaker deck.
3. You may have 9 wire in 2 spots in each window.
Bumpers
1. Bumpers may be bolted or welded solid. You may fully weld bumpers and brackets. Brackets on one side of frame only, either factory or 4” x 3/8 flat stock that follow the contour of frame to the furthest forward point of factory location of A arms.
2. Nothing can be put inside of frame to mount the bumper unless it came from the factory with it.
3. Bumpers are interchangeable with any mass produced car bumper.
4. Stock appearing bumpers; we will allow you to take any bumper apart, weld any material you would like to the inside of bumper and weld the chrome back on. Everything must be done inside of bumper, nothing on the outside.
5. No Home made pointy bumpers.
6. Old style Birds may add a 4 x 4 beam between frame rails but in line with core support. Beam cannot go farther back than factory core support location.
Drive Train
1. Motor and tranny of choice; in stock location.
2. Maybe welded or chained, the motor tie-down cannot exceed in front pulleys or 2: behind the heads to top or side of frame, 2X3/8” flat stock and cannot be laid flat on frame.
3. Mid plates cannot be tied to the frame in any way or be wider than the motor.
4. If you have a tranny brace, it must be mounted to cross member with factory tranny mount, free floating or 1 bolt or chained and dash bar must be 2” away from tranny tunnel.
Suspension
1. Rear suspension must remain stock, 80’s and newer may leaf or run a 22” hump plate that has to follow the outside contour of the frame.
2. Full floater rear ends are okay, double coils are okay on coil cars. Leaf spring cars have up to 9 leafs per side and may be clamped in 6 spots per side.
3. Must be factory springs out of a car and cannot be home made.
4. Rear end may be chained in 2 spots per side of car.
5. Coil springs may be wired in.
6. Upper and lower trailing arms maybe reinforce, but they still have to function in a factory manner.
7. The front suspension may be welded with 2 -2”X5” straps, Do not strengthen frame you can bolted or use spring spacers for height.
8. Tie rods may be reinforced, but must function in a factory manner.

8. Hole must be cut in center of hood at least 2 inches larger than air cleaner for fire purposed.
9. No additional steel, tube, angle, channel etc. added to top of core support, fenders or stuffing of fenders allowed (none).
Batteries/Battery boxes
1. One or two (MAX) batteries allowed.
2. Batteries must be in a steel box, covered and secured to the judge’s standards.
3. Battery box must be welded or bolted to the floor securely (not to or through the frame).
Cooling
1. Radi barrel may be used no more than 3” thick and can only be bolted to core support and must be min of one inch off the frame (No water barrels)
2. Radiators must be bolted to core support only (no welding).
3. Bolted in with four ½ inch diameter bolts only.
4. If steamer is used, it must be securely restrained downward under the engine cross member toward the front of the vehicle.
Inside safety cage/Roof
1. Dash bar with kicker on each side running to bar behind seat is allowed.
2. Six-inch square/round diameter material max, ½ inch thick max.
3. Nothing running forward from dash bar anywhere or to anything except 2 tabs going up to the dash, 4-inch-wide max, 10 ga thick max.
4. Bar behind the seat cannot extend more than 12 inches beyond back of seat.
5. Bar behind seat can sit on tranny hump or be up to 12 inches up on door posts.
6. One kicker on each side can come from door post to bar behind seat at angle to center of bar 4-inch weld (pad) at each location (door post/hump) may be used.
7. Door bars cannot extend beyond dash bar or seat bar.
8. No down bars to floor from cage in any location.
9. 1 tube/pipe may run from bar behind seat to roof in middle of car.
10. You may gusset corners of cage to itself for strength.
11. Six-inch max square, triangle, flat gussets may be used 3/8-inch-thick max.
12. If roll bars are used roll bars must be inside of the roof and attached to floating cage only.
Doors
1. Drivers door must be welded.
2. Rub rail may be welded to driver’s door not to extend more than 1 inch onto front fender or 3 inches back from driver’s door, not to extend more than 2 inches out from driver’s door.
3. A cage or mesh should be welded on driver’s side window.
4. Steel mesh or bars are recommended for windshield opening (for driver’s safety, not reinforcement).
5. All other doors must be chained shut (securely) minimum 3 chains per door, Bottom chain may go around frame and rocker.
6. Front passenger door should have chain from roof to door on the inside, may attach to bottom chain.
7. Chains must be bolted together, not welded to door or each other.
Frames/Floors
1. Frames must be stock (No Tipping, bending or Modifications).
2. No filling, plating, bridging rear frame hump.
3. No frame swapping.
4. Four ¾ inch max diameter bolts may be added from floor through frame/subframe in drivers and front passenger area using no more than two ¼ x 4-inch washers per bolt, No welding of washers.
5. Body bolts may be replaced but must be in factory position, no larger than ½ bolts.
6. No frame patching.
7. Minor floor patching allowed, up to 12-inch patch, 10-gauge max.
8. Must leave what is left of bad floor under patch for judges to see, weld over – don’t cut out (one-inch lap on to good metal only, do not attach to frame).
9. No welding, stuffing, plating, tilting, doubling, lapping, filling, lengthening, shortening frame.
10. No extra welding, bolts, chains, wire etc. allowed.
11. If car is too rusty, leave at home.
Station Wagons
1. Tail gates must be chained to fenders and around rear window posts.
2. No pre-bending or creasing roofs.
3. No chains, wire, threaded rod from roof to rear floor or hatches nothing going to or through frame.
COMPACT/SMALL TRUCK RULES

1. Welding from center of front wheels forward permitted. This is the only frame welding allowed.
2. Patch and pucker frame. 6” long ¼” thick plate outside of frame only, 8”between patches.
3. No frame swaps. No Imperial sub frames, K frames, etc. Stock only!
4. Stock bumpers only. Make sure bumper can cover your beam. No pointy bumpers.
5. Must have a hood and must be bolted down in max of six places using 1” rod, 6” washers max. 12” x 12” opening in the hood above the carburetor. All doors must be welded shut. Eight 4” x 4” pads per door.
6. Roll bars allowed inside the cab only, can be attached to floating cage, cannot be attached to frame. In the box can be attached to floor of the box, cannot attach to cab cage or frame. Kickers can go back to front of rear axle.
7. Dash bar 3” max, door bars and rear cab bars are allowed. No kickers down to the frame.
8. Cab reinforcement must remain separate from the box.
9. Gear protection in the box cannot be attached to the cab, box front, sides or rear.
10. Tailgate must be welded to the box. Factory tailgates only.
11. No stuffing of body panels (fenders, box sides, etc.)
12. Rear bumpers that are removed, must have frame rails capped using channel or angle, not to extend further than frame rail width.
13. Prior run trucks must meet rules.
14. May add an additional eight body bolts total, other than factory locations in cab and box. 6” washers max.
15. 4 x 4’s must have front driveshaft removed.
16. Dodge Dakota’s are allowed. No full size trucks allowed.
17. Motor mounts may be welded. Two additional straps or chains can be added. Must be behind water pump, but in front of the carburetor.
18. Radi-barrels must be inside frame rails (top and bottom) may be welded or bolted in, 3” thick outside to outside max and vented down.
19. No homemade spring packs – leafs only.
20. If it doesn’t say you can do it don’t! (It is not allowed!)
21. Look at the general rules as they apply to every pit person and the driver.
SEMI-STOCK BIG TRUCKS
1. Up to ¾ tons. Frames under 7” tall, not more than ¼ thick. No Imperial subs, K frames, etc. No double frames, 4x4’s must remove front drive shafts.
2. Welding from center of front wheels forward permitted. This is the only frame welding allowed unless stated.
3. Driver’s door may be reinforced, but not to extend more than 2”from original body or 5” past front and rear door seams.
4. Must have a dash bar and door bars. Bars may be attached to each other and to frame. Three down bars allowed per side. Front bars can angle to firewall, others straight down. Up to 5” diameter tubing with 6” mounting plates. May have a bar outside of both doors not to exceed 4” past door itself. Get carried away and you will cut.
5. Cab may be fastened down with additional bolts.
6. Box and cab may be bolted together, with six bolts maximum (doesn’t count towards the 12 box bolts). Up to 1”in size with a maximum 4” x 4” washer.
7. Box may have up to 12 bolts to frame. U-bolts count as two bolts. Up to 1” in size with a maximum 4” x 4” x ¼” plate.
8. Box and cab can be seam welded.
9. Tailgates must be welded on and in stock position. IF TAILGATE FALLS OFF, YOU ARE DISQUALIFIED! Factory tailgates only, No flapping of boxes.
10. One strap per side may be welded over taillight holes. Max of 4”wide, ¼ thick. May not exceed 3” beyond each side of light hole.
11. Radi-barrels must be inside frame rails (top and bottom). They may be welded or bolted. The barrels can be up to 3” thick outside to outside and must be vented down.
12. Hoods must have 12”x12” hole in the center. Held down with six 1” rods and only one bolt on each frame rail behind center of wheels can be welded to frame rail with not more than 6” to be welded to frame. That one bolt must be in front of the most forward place of the firewall Must have hood on truck!
13. If floor is not there, you may weld in a floor not to exceed 1/8” thickness and may not be welded to the frame. Judges will have a drill and if in question, it will be checked.
14. Gas tanks: stock tanks must be removed. Trucks must have tank in the box and in front of the rear axle. Max 6 gallon tank and must be securely fastened. No plastic tanks, No ratchet straps, bungee cords or zip ties allowed.
15. Engine in vehicle does not have to be of same manufacturer as the body. Motor mounts may be welded. Any attaching of motors or cradles must be in front of center of front wheels.
16. No pointy bumpers!
17. Rear bumpers that are removed must have frame rails capped using 4” channel or angle, not to extend further than frame rail width.
18. Suspension welding allowed- NO LIFT KITS. Suspensions must be in stock position. May build leaf packs but must be of automotive type.
19. May have roll bar behind cab, Roll bar can be bolted to frame but bolts count as part of the box’s 12 bolts. May have two angled down bars no further back than the front of the rear wheel wells. Nothing past the front of the rear wheel wells.
20. Patch and pucker frame. 6” long ¼” thick plate outside of frame only, 8” between patches.
21. No stuffing of frames, side panel box, fenders, etc.
22. Look at the general rules as they apply to every pit person and the driver.
23. 30” is the Max height to the bottom frame in the front and the rear can be no more than 6” lower than the front.
2 MAN CLASS RULES

3. Cars not passing first inspection will have 1 additional opportunity to meet judge’s standards, no more.
Engine
1. Motor swaps are allowed.
2. No Engine cradles or engine protectors of any kind.
3. Motor mounts must be chained or welded as close to original location as possible.
4. Plates on frame cannot be more than ½ inch thick and not used for extra strength to the frame.
5. One strap or chain per side to tie motor down is allowed.
A. Straps can be no more than 2 inches wide and ¼ inch thick (No over welding).
B. Straps must stay flush with rear of motor mount and not extend beyond front pulley.
6. Front distributor guards can be used but must be attached to tie down straps (protecting distributor only).
7. No rear motor tie downs allowed (none).
8. Any motor mount or front distributor guard that is deemed extreme by the judges will be cut or trimmed or car will not participate.
9. After market throttles may be used as long as mounting brackets do not reinforce car in any way.
10. Stacks/Headers may be used.
11. If you don’t want to wreck an expensive motor, don’t put it in.
Transmissions
1. No transmission cradles, guards, bridges allowed.
2. Transmission cross members can be slid forward or back to accommodate transmission swaps.
3. If cross member is replaced - tube, channel, angle no larger than 2 inch x 2 inch by ¼ inch thick may be used.
4. Cross member must be bolted in or 2 inch max weld to frame on ends.
5. No adding extra cross members to extend short members from frame to frame.
6. After market shifters may be used as long as mounting brackets do not reinforce car in any way.
7. The shifter must be mounted out of reach of the person running the steering wheel.
8. Transmission must be bolted or chained down.
9. Transmission coolers may be used, bolted or welded to floor only- not the frame.
10. No Steel or competition bell housings.
Rear Suspension/Differentials
1. No Leaf spring, coil spring swapping.
2. Coil spring spacers may be used.
3. Coil-over shocks may be used.
4. No Adding coil spring between third member and body.
5. Broken leaf’s may be replaced, no adding of leaf’s.
6. Factory width, thickness, length.
7. No solid suspensions.
8. Rear end housings may be interchanged.
9. Factory auto rear ends only; 5 bolt max.
10. No pickup truck or other differentials.
11. No plating, bridging, reinforcing of housings in any manner.
12. Factory Axles only.
13. Factory posi or welded third members are allowed.
Drive shafts
1. No slider shafts.
2. Any OEM factory combination can be used.
Wheels and Tires
1. Factory Wheels only.
2. No Aftermarket, reinforced/homemade wheels.
3. Valve stem protectors allowed.
4. Heavy ply tires are allowed.
5. No traction/digger tires allowed on drive axles
6. Tires may be tubed/screwed to rim
Gas tanks / Fuel pumps
1. Steel/stainless steel or aluminum tanks only.
2. No plastic or boat tanks allowed.
3. Tanks must be securely fastened in back seat area without reinforcing car in any manner.
4. If gas tank protector is used, it must be to protect the tank and driver, not to reinforce car in any manner.
5. Gas tank protector must be no more than 2 inches larger than the tank.
6. Electric fuel pumps may be used.
Steering/ Front Suspension
1. A knuckle may be added to OEM shaft.
2. Removable steering wheels and/ or padded/ taped wheels may be used.
3. No Aftermarket columns except for top half for removable wheel.
4. Front A-frame cannot be reinforced.
5. No filling with round stock, angle, tube, etc.
6. A-frames may be welded/bolted to frame to hold up suspension or strapped down if upper A-arms are aluminum.
7. Any welding deemed excessive by judges will be cut.
8. Factory OEM steering boxes and tie rods must be used.
9. Torsion bars may be turned up for height.
Rear bumpers, Trunk lids and Rear frames
1. Rear bumpers must be chained to trunk lid or removed.
2. Two loops of chain from bumper through trunk lid must be used.
3. Four more chains may be added from trunk lid to fenders (Not down to frame).
4. One ¾ Max diameter threaded rod from center of trunk lid through trunk floor may be added (Not to frame) if trunk floor is rotted out, no bolt.
5. No notching, pre-bending or welding on rear frame.
6. No trunk lid or fender tucking or folding.
7. No bars, tubes or chains in back window opening (period).
8. Cars must remain as stock looking as possible
Front bumpers
1. Any factory OEM car bumper may be used.
2. No angle, channel, tube or other homemade bumpers allowed.
3. No stuffing, filling or tweaking bumpers.
4. Bumpers must be welded to front of frames only.
5. No extending bumper out.
6. Must be welded as close to front of frame as possible.
7. ¼ inch max thickness tabs may be added from frame to bumper on each frame side (Only 4 inches can be welded to frame on each side, 8 inches per side total.
8. Any amount of welding or steel the judges deem excessive (will be cut).
Hood, Front Fenders and front clips
1. 2 chains through hood around front bumper allowed.
2. 4 more chains may be added from hood through fenders (Not to frame).
3. Hoods may be tucked over core support to bumper.
4. One bolt 6 inches by ¾ inch max with 2 washers ¼ inch by 4-inch mas allowed through hood and top of fender on each side to help keep hood down is allowed.
5. Bolting hood to fenders only.
6. 2 front core support bolts may be changed out with ¾ inch max diameter bolts or threaded rod used only to hold core support down to frame, 6-inch maximum length, cannot extend along radiator mount. Nothing through hood.
7. Front clip cannot be bolted, welded or chained down to frame Period.
