Please read carefully. If car does not pass inspection or driver is unwilling to change car to pass inspection, absolutely no refunds!!! All rules will be followed or you will not run! If it does not say it in the rules – don’t just assume you can do it. CALL FIRST!!!!
ANY COUNTY FAIR HAS THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY ENTRY AND SPECTATOR ADMITTANCE.
1. Pit gate opens at 2pm DERBY STARTS at 7pm
2. An entry fee of $35 will be charged for each car entered. $30 for passenger. $20 for pit passes Fees must be paid prior to inspection. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE DUE TO FAILURE TO MEET REGULATIONS! All cars should be signed in 1 hour before race time and inspected 30 minutes before race time. Late fee will apply, example after 6:00 pm, if show starts at 7:00 pm and 2:00 pm if the shows starts at 3:00 pm. drivers $100 and riders $50. This is to ensure the race starts on time.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE DUE TO FAILURE TO MEET REGULATIONS!
GENERAL RULES
3. Top five in feature must actively compete at end, no driving yourself on barriers or dirt berms. Failure to comply could result in complete restart with all feature qualifiers actively competing again or disqualification.
4. No reinforcements allowed other than specified in these rules. Any metal added to reinforce the car is illegal. You will only be allowed 2 trips thru the inspection line.
5. NO PAINTING, UNDERCOATING, OILING OR GREASING OF FRAMES. YOU WILL NOT BE INSPECTED. THIS INCLUDES PAINTING OF THE FRAME FLAT BLACK.
6. NO HITTING IN DRIVERS DOOR, but no using driver door as a shield. If the hit is deemed by the official to be careless or intentional, you will be disqualified. If you use your driver’s door as a defense, we will not enforce the rules. If you use the door as a defense repeatedly you will be disqualified. This will be at the judges’ discretion.
7. NO hot-rodding in the pits! Keep it at an idle.
8. Any open door or second fire will cause disqualification. If in a heat, you may fix it and come back in the consolation. In the feature, you will be disqualified.
9. You must make AGGRESSIVE contact every 60 seconds.
10. Sandbagging is not tolerated and will be strictly enforced. Locking up the brakes prior to a hit for anything other than a driver’s door will be cause for disqualification. The fans pay to see a show, put one on for them!
11. IF YOU THINK SOMEONE IS SANDBAGGING, HIT THEIR CAR WITH YOUR CAR ON THE TRACK.
12. Winning cars plus three out of the money must remain on track until released by officials, or will not be paid prize money. Cars are subject to re-inspection before any prize money is handed out. Cars found illegal will be stripped of all prize money for that event.
13. Any questions or controversies will be discussed at the drivers meeting
14. YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST A 12” X 12” ROOF SIGN WITH YOUR CAR NUMBER ON IT.
15. All drivers must pick up trophies and earnings at the completion of the event, or forfeit. They will not be available after that date.
16. All persons MUST sign entry form, insurance waiver, release form, pay entry fees, and purchase pit pass before entering pit area.
17. THERE IS NO ALCOHOL IN THE PITS. This includes pit crews. If you or ANY of your crew is caught with alcohol, you will be disqualified.
18. No harassing of the judges will be allowed at any time by drivers, passengers, crewmembers or spectators. Failure to abide by this rule, the driver will forfeit all money and all involved will be escorted from premises.
19. Registration forms will be filled out the day of the event. All drivers must be at least 16 years of age; drivers 16 and 17 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a minor release form
20. All drivers must wear approved helmets, eye protection either safety glasses or visor on helmet, long pants, and shirt. Also all drivers and riders must wear working seat belts. This will be enforced in 2018 or you will not run!!!!
21. - Drivers must remain in the vehicle with helmet, seatbelt and eye protection on until notified by an official that it is safe to exit the vehicle.
22. A driver that receives a black flag for an intentional door hit will be disqualified from all competition for that night. A driver that receives a black flag for sandbagging or 1 fire in the interior of the car will be disqualified. 2 fires on the exterior will be disqualified, if in heat you may go to consolation. This will be at the judges’ discretion.
23. This is not a team event; team driving will not be tolerated
24. All drivers must attend drivers’ meeting prior to derby
25. All cars must be removed from derby site by 12:00 noon the following day unless otherwise stated at drivers meeting. Failure to do this will result in cars being removed by and becoming property of Fair Board.
26. DO NOT READ ANYTHING INTO THESE RULES, JUST READ THE RULES!! If it doesn't say you can, YOU CAN'T!
27. DO NOT paint anywhere on suspension or frame; if we can tell it’s been painted, we will not even inspect your car.
28.ALL SUNROOFS MUST BE COVERED WITH A THIN SHEET OF METAL, I.E. WELED OR BOLTED (WITH BOLT HEAD INSIDE THE CAR) OR RIVETED. NO # 9 wire or chain to accomplish this will be allowed.
2018 STOCK RULES … JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL
1. DO NOT READ ANYTHING INTO THESE RULES, JUST READ THE RULES!! If it doesn't say you can, YOU CAN'T! Or you will be loaded, your choice!
2. NO black cars, dark cars must have contrasting letter/numbers. DO NOT paint anywhere on suspension or frame; we will not even inspect your car.
3. Any year car EXCEPT No Imperials, no Suicide Lincolns, and no Hearses
4. Body components must be direct bolt up only. Must be factory hardware or equivalent in size
5. Remove all glass mirrors and plastic. Remove all decking in wagons
6. Vehicles must be swept clean of all debris
7. No sedagons, ZERO crease enhancements, ZERO sheet metal or frame shaping, forming or
folding.
8. - Front Windshield Bar is MANDATORY and is limited to two 2” wide x 1/4" thick straps or two 3/8” chains or two strands of 9 wire. May be welded or bolted or both. 6 inches on roof and 6 inches on firewall for attachment. 12” apart measured I.D. UPDATED 6/26/18
(1 min. with rider must have 2 max.)
HOOD
MUST BE OPEN AT INSPECTION! So don’t come to inspection line with hood bolted down….
1. Can replace front 2 body mounts with 2-1” all thread through the hood, with 4” washers
A. Can have a 4” or less spacer free floating between core support and frame.
2. Plus 2”x2” angel iron 4” long ¼” thick back to back 2 on each side of hood, with 1- ½” bolt in each or not both 4- ½” bolts sheet metal to sheet metal with 4” washers ¼” thick.
3. Hood must be 100% in stock location and open for inspection.
4. Anything can be removed or cut away but NOTHING can be added
5. Hood must have two (2) holes, at least SIX (6) inches in diameter on each side of carburetor – Not directly on top of carburetor.
6. IF HOOD IS REMOVED, EITHER FAN BLADE MUST BE REMOVED OR FAN BELT MUST BE CUT.
TRUNK—
1. Can replace any of the 4 rear body mounts with 2-1” all thread through the trunk, with 4” washers. Bottom nut and washer may be on bottom side of the frame, not to extend 1” past nut and may extend trunk. ZERO welding allowed mounting any of these threaded rods
2. Plus ( 4) 2”x2” angel iron 4” long ¼” thick back to back, with 1- ½” bolt in each or not both ( 4 ) - ½” bolts sheet metal to sheet metal with 4” washers ¼” thick.
3. Trunk must be 100% in stock location. Must be on the factory hinges, stock location or ½ cut off or “V’d” downward at ½ way point of the trunk or 90'd straight down at the halfway point.
4. Anything can be removed or cut away but NOTHING can be added
TAILGATE: 4 places with #9 wire.
DOORS
1. Drivers door or with passenger doors may be welded. You may weld outside only. You may weld solid; you may use 4" x 1/8" straps. All other doors 6 on and 6 off
BODYMOUNTS
1. Body mounts and spacers to remain stock and in place.DO NOT EVEN TOUCH THEM Exception, You may replace a broken one with 1/2” size bolt. Stock body pucks must be in place and all bottom nuts must be inside frame except front and rear all thread. ZERO welding allowed mounting this rod. If changed/replaced you must cut away the factory sheet metal for inspection and use a 3”x3”1/4” washer top and bottom.
FRAMES
1. NO welding on frames allowed.except….
2. If running a used car prior to this derby, you are allowed 2 patch plates max. Size 4”x4”x1/4”. Must be painted a bright color. So it is easily noticed for the inspectors. AFTER INSPECTION OR HEATS NO WELDING THESE PLATES ON. IF ADDITIONAL PLATES ARE FOUND AFTER INSPECTION – NO MONEY WILL PAID OUT
3. No plates on fresh cars to fix/patch rust holes, unless it’s a preran/used car then follow patch plate rule.
- SUSPENSION
1. All suspension must remain stock. ZERO aftermarket parts
2. Rear control arms may be changed but must be stock NO SHORTING %100 stock
3. You may use (store bought spring spacers only, no homemade, no spacers on top of the springs). Front and rear
4. You may have a double strand #9 wire to hold coil spring to rear end and leaf sprung cars may use 4 single strands #9 wire as leaf clamps or factory clamps.
5. You may run a double strand of #9 wire twisted together, behind the rear wheels from frame to frame. No extra mounting component can be used to mount this. Just wrap around frame and twist.
6. Factory or aftermarket steering column ok
7. If you’re running a 03 or newer must run/use stock/factory cradle.
8. aftermarket or homemade tie rods allowed, must have factory ends. NO HEIMS
- DRIVETRAIN
1. ANY drivetrain allowed with the following criteria.
2. You may swap engines, i.e... Chevy in a Ford. Factory location only. No cradle swaps
A. ANY ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION MAY BE USED IN ANY CAR, BUT MUST BE MOUNTED IN A STOCK POSITION. ON A V-BLOCK MOTOR, FRONT SPARK PLUGS MUST BE EVEN OR IN FRONT OF UPPER BALL JOINT; ON IN-LINE MOTORS, NUMBER TWO (2) SPARK PLUG MUST BE EVEN OR IN FRONT OF UPPER BALL JOINT.
3. Factory top and bottom (clams) motor mounts, same goes for tranny factory mount.
4. Only the lower stock engine mounts may be welded to cradle only. You may use two 1/2" thick 4x4 spacers to raise engine from steering components
5. No tranny protectors/braces, stock mounting only, stock cross members only, you may use a 2”x 2”x 1/4” angel iron 4” long welded only to inside frame rail to mount your stock cross member I.E. CHEVY DRIVE LINE IN A FORD. No other welding
6. You may weld rear end gears / spools ok. - No pinion brakes
7. REARENDS WILL STAY THE AS 2017, YOU CAN WELD STOCK OEM BRACKETS TO ANY 5 LUG REAREND, Reared swaps allowed no bracing, and no re-enforcement. Max axle size 31 spline, Ford, GM or Mopar Clarification: All must be factory axles(cast flanges) and rear ends, must be a direct bolt-in, NO fabricating or welding allowed of axles or reared(inside or outside)
8. All money winners will be subject to pull axles before payout at official’s discretion
9. You may run 1 spot of #9 wire doubled 4 strands total twisted together from rear end to frame per side, nothing thru body. .
10. Floor shifters allowed, headers allowed, gas pedals and brakes, Clarification: none may strengthen car
11. No engine cradles, pulley or DP protectors of any kind, and no aftermarket parts of this nature at all.
12. Engine oil pan and tranny pan protectors ok, flat bottom side only
13. Slip shafts allowed at all shows. A $100.00 bonus will be paid to the highest placing driver with an OEM car driveshaft.
CAGE AND HALO BAR:
1. You must have a 4 point cage. Two cross bars, one in dash area, and one behind driver’s seat that must be no more than 18" from back of driver seat. Two side bars cannot go past dash bar or more than 18" behind driver seat. Get your tape measure out. If your more than 18" you will have to cut.
2. Halo bar allowed must be in line with seat bar. NONE of these bars can contact floor or frame
3. Gas tank protector may be welded to back bar. Only 4” wider than the gas tank itself and must be 5 inches from rear sheet metal (package tray). The area that your upper back seat was from. This bar must be at 10” off the floor, measured from bottom rear seat area and must stay inside of interior of rear driver’s compartment. Nothing can be added to the top or bottom of this bar.
4. Drivers and passenger doors must be padded.
5. Gas tank and single battery must be moved and secured. Tank behind the seat, Battery centered in the passenger front floor.
6. NO PLASTIC TANKS, unless in a wooden box 1” thick minimum or a metal box ¼” minimum. All sides except top side. This also goes for if your using a metal boat tank.
7. Mounted in center of the back side area.
A. Battery and gas tank must be tight when coming through inspection line or you won’t be inspected.
8. Nothing may be mounted in a way that strengthens the car.
9. Tranny coolers allowed. Must be mounted in back seat area and approved by officials.
BUMPERS: OEM STOCK
1. You may load inside or back side of a factory OEM bumper. Must still look stock
2. You may weld front and rear bumper strait to frame/hard nose no added metal, only on the front can you shorten the frame you must leave 3 1/2” in front factory location of the front body mount. This is the body mount that you run your all thread through. Use following the rules for the front bumper if using a shock only.
3. You may weld bumper bracket(in factory location) to frame 4 inches from the back of bumper, , in addition you may put 4 one inch welds on back side of bumper bracket or to weld shock inside frame(example Crown Vics).
4. If your car did not come with a shock (example 71 Chevy) you may use a 74-76 CHEVY CANS welded to factory specs OR BOP bracket bolted/ mounted in stock location with stock bolts.
5. You may chain, 2 piece of chain per side bolted or welded (weld one link on each end) from the mount to mount to hold on the bumper.
TIRES: Brakes MUST work.
1. Forklift and skid loader tires are allowed
2. All wheels and rims must be strictly stock, except you are allowed 7” wheel centers.
3 .Valve stem protectors are allowed.
4. Liquid in tires is allowed. Studs and screws in rims to hold tires in place are allowed

2018 MINI-CAR RULES
1. Must be powered by four or six cylinder engine
2. Wheelbase must be 108 inches or less. NO EXCEPTIONS!
A. NO moving/bending a stock or aftermarket component to shorten wheel base.
3. No four-wheel drive vehicles.
4. MANDATORY! All four/six cylinder cars must have a cage. Four point minimum.
5. Stock gas tank MUST be removed. A METAL BOAT TANK OR HOMEMADE METAL TANK must be mounted in rear seat area and bolted down with metal straps. NO PLASTIC TANKS!!!
A. Battery and gas tank must be tight when coming through inspection line or you wont be inspected.
6. All lines under car must be steel lines or if running rubber lines they must be inside of the car.
7. If OEM bumper had no bolts bumper homemade bumper brackets may go six (6) inches from back side of bumper.
8. No pipe over struts.
9. No kickers
10. No aftermarket or homemade extreme cradle/pullet protector
ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL
1. Cars previously run in Demolition Derby may install new front clip. Any clip may be used on any car, MUST be installed in stock manner. Officials MUST approve installation.
2. All glass, side windows, rear windows, headlights and taillights, must be removed before reaching racetrack. Rolling down windows is not permitted. . Remove all glass mirrors and plastic. Remove all decking in wagons. Vehicles must be swept clean of all debris
3. Rear seat of sedan must be removed, top and bottom. On station wagons all seats and decking must be removed. Station wagons must be emptied to floorboards. All cars must be swept clean, both drivers compartment and trunk. No spare tires, broken glass, or trash, etc., allowed in cars.
4. Cars must have a seatbelt and working brakes. MANDATORY!!
5. You can carry a fire extinguisher, but it must be mounted securely and free of movement.
6. Battery may be moved, but must be securely fastened and covered in passenger compartment. MAXIMUM OF TWO AUTOMOBILE TYPE BATTERIES ALLOWED. Battery and gas tank must be tight when coming through inspection line or you wont be inspected.
7. Any type automotive radiator may be used but must be mounted in stock position. NO RESERVE TANKS. A radiator cradle is allowed made of 1/8” metal 1” wider than the radiator. Bolted only to car and nothing in front of the radiator. AFTERMARKET OR HOME MADE RADIATOR CRADLE.
A. Front rad. screen max. Thickest 3/8” thick, bolted or 4 1” welds.
8. Fenders may be bolted together with 3/8 inch bolts or smaller with 3/8 inch or smaller washers only. A maximum of 10 bolts per fender.
9. All doors may be welded (Outside of body only), chained or wired. Straps cannot be larger than ¼” thick and 4 inches wide on door shell (vertical) and 2 inches wide on window frame. You may beat top of doors down and may tack them in three places with a maximum of 1” weld each.
10. No doubling of body panels allowed, no added metal allowed.
11. Patching floorboards, if you have to patch rusty floorboards you must cut out all the rust, overlap no more than 1” with same thickness as body material and sheet metal screws – no more than one every 4”. No Welding to floorboards or firewall.
12. You may crease/enhance sheet metal body panels but do not fold and weld. No extra metal may be added.
13. NO OTHER BODY WELDS OTHER THAN WHAT IS LISTED ABOVE. THIS INCLUDES BODY SEAMS ANYWHERE ON THE CAR.
14. ALL SUNROOFS MUST BE COVERED WITH A THIN SHEET OF METAL, I.E. WELED OR BOLTED (WITH BOLT HEAD INSIDE THE CAR) OR RIVETED. No #9 wire or chain to accomplish this will be allowed.
HOODS AND TRUNKS
MUST BE OPEN AT INSPECTION! So don’t come to inspection line with hood bolted down….
1. Hoods: must have two (2) holes, at least four (4) inches in diameter on each side of carburetor – Not directly on top of carburetor. IF HOOD IS REMOVED, EITHER FAN BLADE MUST BE REMOVED OR FAN BELT MUST BE CUT.
2. NO SECOND ALL THREAD WELDED TO SIDE OF THE FRAME AND RAN THROUGH THE AT MID POINT OF THE HOOD.
3. On all cars, hoods, trunks, and tailgates may be secured with the following method: on front of car, two pieces of 1 inch all thread, NO SLEEVING, Can have a 4” or less spacer free floating between core support and frame, with a washer no larger than six (6) inches O.D. and 3/8 inch thick, all threads MUST be mounted outboard of the radiator. In addition to all threads, six (6) 1 inch O.D. bolts with a washer no larger than six (6) inches O.D. and 3/8 inch thick, or you may use angle iron back to back with a bolt through it. Angle iron cannot be more than 3/16 thick or longer than 6 inches. Three on each side of car, a total of six. Total of 6 bolts and 2 up front all threads holding the hood down and any amount of wire or cable. All wire, or cable MUST be mounted outboard of radiator. A maximum of 20 bolts 3/8 inch or smaller are allowed to bolt together hood seams.
TRUNK 4 pieces of 5/8 inch all thread, with a washer no larger than six (6) inches O.D. and 3/8 inch thick, all threads may be mounted through deck lid and frame anywhere in trunk, can be welded to the frame or in body mount holes. In addition to all threads, you may weld trunk 5 on 5 off, Straps should not be larger than ¼” thick or 4 inches wide or six (6) 1 inch O.D. bolts with a washer no larger than six (6) inches O.D. and 3/8 inch thick, or 10 3/8” bolts in the drip rail, not both one or the other and any amount of wire or cable. If trunk is welded must have a 12” hole in trunk lid. On station wagons two pieces of 1 inch all thread, with a washer no larger than six (6) inches O.D. and 3/8 inch thick, all threads may be used in the rear through roof and stock body mount replacing existing bolt.
TAILGATE weld 5 on 5 off, Straps should not be larger than ¼” thick or 4 inches wide or six (6) 1-inches O.D. bolts with a washer no larger than six (6) inches O.D. and 3/8 inch thick, and any amount of wire or cable. YOU CAN WELD WASHERS (no bigger than 5/8 washer and must be at least 12” apart) TO THE BODY TO RUN WIRE THROUGH.
A. No carburetor protector outside the intake area or DP.
B. You may have rear window bar 2”X2”X1/4” MAX. IN SIZE, 6” max. on roof 4”X4”X1/4” FLAT PLATE TO ATTACH TO THIS BAR TOP AND BOTTOM and must be centered on front side drip rail on trunk no further back or forward (2” on each side). Weld to the strapping on your trunk. There must be 6” minimum distance (gap) from the top of this bar on the roof and halo bar…. This is the only location allowed for this bar.
BODY MOUNTS
1. All body mount bolts may be replaced with 1/2 inch O.D. bolts with a stamped washer. Do not take them out and place body on frame. If replaced, a gap of 1” minimum is mandatory between body and frame. You may replace with a stack of washers, or one piece of anything solid, as long as it is about the same diameter as the factory bushing. Do NOT crush factory body bushings. Body mount bolts inside passenger compartment that are close together may have one washer six (6) inches x twelve (12) inches, must have two (2) or more body mount bolts through washer. You may add two (2) additional body mount bolts per side inside passenger compartment. All all-threads MUST have nut on top and bottom and NO welds.
4. A minimum of one chain or wire running from the outside (top) of roof down to the cowl or BAR DOWN TO DASH BAR OF CAGE on the front window is MANDATORY for safety. Maximum of two. IF YOU HAVE A PASSENGER MUST HAVE 2. IF USING METAL STRAPS MAX. SIZE 2” WIDE X ¼” THICK, 12” ID APART. CAN GO TO FRONT DASH BAR OR COWL THEN TO TOP LIP AREA OF WINDSHIELD ONLY.
CAGE AND HALO BARS
1. All driver and passenger doors may be reinforced. You should have a six (6)-point cage, MININMUM OF A 4PT. CAGE. cross bars may be ran as follows, one across dash, one behind front seats, and one in rear seat area ( 3rd bar must be at 10” off the floor, measured from bottom rear seat area) 3rd bar must stay inside of interior of rear drivers compartment nothing past package tray. Nothing can be added to the top or bottom of this bar.
2. You can run four (4) down tubes, two (2) per side. 2 of these down tubes must mounted mandatory in the following way on each side, 1 down tube must be to flat part of the frame no further forward then the inner front door seam, with a max distance of 2’ from the same measuring point. Lower door bars are allowed between down tubes must be 6 inches or more above top of frame. NOTHING OUT OF DRIVERS’ COMPARTMENT. You can have steel plate between cage and front doors. Must be securely fastened to cage. Front bar must be mounted no more than 2” below the bottom of the front window seal and be no more than 4” in diameter. Must have 6” between front bar and center of firewall on a fresh car. Front bar cannot be attached to firewall at any time. ALL DOWN TUBES MUST BE BEHIND DASH BAR, STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN AND ON FLAT PART OF FRAME. CAN NOT GO TO BODY MOUNT BOXES. NO KICKERS TO REAR HUMPS. NOTHING OUT OF REAR DRIVERS COMPARTMENT. You cannot weld anything to front bar protruding toward the distributor protector. No grater blades, metal plates or tubing on exterior of body (driver & passenger doors).
3. DP can’t touch dash bar during or at the end of the derby or you will be disqualified.
4. Halo bars are allowed. Can be attached to bar behind your seat or could be run to the frame but it would be counted as one of your down tubes. There must be 6” minimum distance (gap) from halo bar and the top of your rear window bar….
5. This is not mandatory but we encourage everyone to put a steel plate between cage and front driver and passenger doors. Thickness of metal is up to driver. Must be securely attached to cage, must be 2” off of floor, this is for protection not reinforcement.
FRAME
1. DO NOT REWELD ENGINE CROSS MEMBER SEAMS OR ANY OTHER BRACKETS ATTACHED TO FRAME OR SHEET METAL under hood or trunk. NO CONCRETE!!! DO NOT WELD FACTORY HOLES UP; ALL FACTORY HOLES MUST BE OPEN FOR INSPECTION OF FRAME.
2. You cannot alter frame in any way other than specified in rules. Do not crease or reshape frame.
3. You may run one (1) wire or chain from frame rail to frame rail underneath back of car behind back tires/wheels.
4. You may put a bolt with a stamped flat washer thru frame to hold it together. Only one (1) per wheel opening must be loose during inspection. DO NOT weld washer. (Pinning of frame)
5. You may notch the frame for minimal pre-bending, but do NOT weld the cut.
6. If changing front stub, cut 3 inches behind second cross member bolt hole. When replacing, can overlap 2 ½”, able to weld both sides, but no adding extra metal. Must be of the same make and model.
7. If restubbing one side of the frame, you are allowed to cut and fit the new frame flush and weld one pass all the way around (butt – fit – weld). Must be of the same make and model.
8. All trailer hitches MUST be totally removed.
9.2018 THIS INCLUDES MINI’S: If running a used car prior to this derby, you are allowed 2 patch plates max. Size 4”x4”x1/4”. Must be painted a bright color. So it is easily noticed for the inspectors. AFTER INSPECTION OR HEATS NO WELDING THESE PLATES ON. IF ADDITIONAL PLATES ARE FOUND AFTER INSPECTION – NO MONEY WILL PAID OUT
10. No plates on fresh cars to fix/patch rust holes, unless it’s a preran/used car then follow patch plate rule.
BUMPERS
1. Any OEM shock canister may be bolted or welded to any car. AMOUNTS OF BOLTS OR WELDS MAY NOT EXCEED TYPICAL STOCK INSTALLATION. Homemade bumper brackets are permitted, NO GUSSETS OR BRACING. NOT TO EXTEND BEHIND OEM MOUNTING BOLT LOCATION ON FRAME. May use 2½” max. Round or square tubing. No thicker than ¼ inch. No solid stock may be used. This can only extend into the frame a max. of 8”. Will be drilled at 8 ¼” measured from the front edge of the frame on every car. Any OEM stock automobile bumper may be bolted or welded to the shock canister or bumper brackets. You may use two (2) pieces of light chain per shock. Fenders and bumper ends may be trimmed to allow for wheel clearance.
2. Front bumper may be reinforced inside or behind and end to end. Must have chrome on the outer part of the bumper from any OEM bumper shaped to fit. You may weld outer chrome of bumper to inner skin of bumper. Nothing else can be welded to outer chrome. You cannot alter angle of bumper. Anything coming out of bumper during race will be cause for disqualification. 11” of point and must contour from frame to frame and must be stock appearing on pointy bumpers.
3. You may have 6" long 4" wide 1/4" thick bumper support bracket, butt fit against bumper or 2" onto bumper. If you’re running a preran and choice to put your extra. 4 by 4 1/4" plate up front there must be at least a 1/8" gap between the 2 plates. Any questions please call.
SUSPENSION
1. Stiffness of suspension will be left up to the discretion of the driver. NO OTHER METAL ADDED!
2. Homemade tie rods and homemade steering shaft are permitted.
3. No pipe over struts
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
1. ANY ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION MAY BE USED IN ANY FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CAR, BUT MUST BE MOUNTED IN A STOCK POSITION.
2. Chained, welded, or homemade motor mounts will be permitted, but must meet approval of officials.
3. At motor mount to sub-frame your allowed 2 per side of motor mount a 2”x3”x1/4” plate on its side welded to frame and engine cradle
4. Any type of header is allowed, but must be directed away from driver compartment.
5. Transmission oil coolers and engines oil coolers are permitted. Inspection personnel must approve all mountings, lines, and fittings.
6. Skid plates are allowed. Must be separate oil/transmission plates. No full-length skid plates. No bolting or welding to frame.
7. Distributor protectors are allowed. Cannot be any wider than 12” and must not protrude more than 2” from transmission mounting surface on back of engine block. Must be attached to engine or transmission mounting bolts.
8. No aftermarket or homemade extreme cradle/pullet protector
9. No carburetor protector outside the intake area or DP.
10. You may beat flat the engine side of the firewall only, do not weld or bolt firewall. Do not re-enforce the firewall/cowl. Do not beat, paint, bolt, weld on, weld to or modify the driver’s side of the firewall/cowl in any way.
11. Transmission protectors are allowed. MUST FLOAT OVER CROSSMEMBER
12. Must have stock/OEM cross member
GAS TANKS
Battery and gas tank must be tight when coming through inspection line or you won’t be inspected.
1. Stock gas tank MUST be removed. A METAL BOAT TANK OR HOMEMADE METAL TANK must be mounted in rear seat area and bolted down with metal straps. Other types of installations will not be allowed. NO GAS CANS with hoses duct taped. A Marine (boat) tank or an official approved homemade tank is mandatory. All tanks MUST be covered with a rubber cover. All tanks MUST have secure cap. All lines and fittings MUST be leak proof and meet approval of Officials. Electric fuel pumps are permitted but MUST have shut-off within reach of driver. NO MORE THAN ten (10) GALLONS OF GAS IN TANK.
2. NO PLASTIC TANKS, unless in a wooden box 1” thick minimum or a metal box ¼” minimum. All sides except top side. This also goes for if your using a metal boat tank.
3. Mounted in center of the back side area.
FOR THE MINI-CAR DERBY CLASS, YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO MOVE THE STOCK GAS TANK INTO THE BACK SEAT AREA.
REAR END
1. . Any automobile rear end can be used in any car. You cannot transform a coil spring to leaf spring or vice versa. On models originally equipped with leaf springs, stock leaf springs and hangers MUST be used. Leaf packs on all cars may have no more than 8 leaves per pack Must be OEM stock. Homemade spring perches or homemade trailing arm brackets may be welded to rear end. Rear end spider gears may be welded solid. You may tilt rear end by shortening or lengthening rear end control arms. Trailing arms may be reinforced. Rear end housing may be reinforced. No dually wheels allowed..
2. Any drive shaft or U joint may be used. Welding of drive shaft is permitted.
3. No extra metal added. Any bracket that shows reinforcement to the frame will not be allowed. JUDGES HAVE FINAL DECISION.
TIRES
1. Only sixteen (16) inch or smaller tires and wheels will be allowed. NO SPLIT RIMS ALLOWED.
2. Valve stem protectors, liquid in tires permitted or screws in rims to hold tires in place permitted.

Your allowed only 2 passes through inspection line to correct your car to these rules
AUTOMOBILE BODY REGULATIONS- ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL
1. ANY Passenger car or station wagon only. No trucks, jeeps, hearses, limousines, or checkered cabs. No pre 1973 Chrysler Imperials and no Imperial Sub Frames. No PRE-1973 Lincolns.
2. Sedagons are allowed.
3. All glass, side windows, rear windows, headlights and taillights, must be removed before reaching the track. Rolling down windows is not permitted.
4. Rear seat of sedan must be removed, top and bottom. On station wagons all seats and decking must be removed. Station wagons must be emptied to the floorboards.
5. Cars must have a seatbelt and working brakes. MANDATORY or you won’t be allowed to run.
6. Battery may be moved, but must be securely fastened and covered in passenger compartment. TWO BATTERIES ARE ALLOWED.
A. Battery and gas tank must be tight when coming through inspection line or you wont be inspected.
7. Front Windshield Bar is MANDATORY and is limited to two 2” wide x 1/4" thick straps or two 3/8” chains or two strands of 9 wire. Must be at least 2 inches away from DP!!!!!! May be welded or bolted or both. 6 inches on roof and 6 inches on firewall for attachment. 12” apart measured I.D.
GAS TANKS AND FUEL PUMPS
1. Stock gas tank MUST be removed from original position and mounted in the rear seat area and secured. No rubber or chain straps. All tanks must have a secure cap. A marine tank or fuel cell is strongly recommended. All lines and fitting must be leak proof and meet approval of the track officials. Electric fuel pumps are allowed, with shut off switch marked.
2. All lines must be run inside car, not along the frame underneath.
3. All lines should be double clamped.
4. Battery and gas tank must be tight when coming through inspection line or you wont be inspected.
RADIATOR AND CORE SUPPORT
1. Radiator must be in stock position
2. Any automotive type radiator can be used. Aluminum Radiators are LEGAL.
3. No homemade radiators allowed
4. No reserve tanks and no added cooling capacity.
5. One electric fan, mounted to the radiator, may be used.
6. DO NOT MOVE CORE SUPPORT
7. If you use a core support spacer for your all thread to run through, the spacer may be welded to the frame and it must end at the bottom of core support.
8. You are allowed a factory ac condenser or ¼” mesh screen in front of radiator 36” wide, 6 ⅜” bolts or 6 1” welds to hold it in place. Spray foam may be used to protect radiator.
9. No homemade or aftermarket radiator cradles.
10. NO metal/wire/chain in front of radiator, even if used to secure radiator.
BODY
1. No body seams may be welded. No metal may be added.
2. No doubling of body panels allowed, no added metal allowed.
3. Body creasing will be allowed.
4. Body creasing will be limited to the outside of the car body only!!!! No creasing firewalls, trans tunnels, trunk floors, and or etc.
5. Fenders may be bolted together. Max of 10 3/8” BOLTS ABOVE EACH FENDER WELL.
6. Doors may be chained, wired, or welded. When welding doors you may weld them 5 on 5 off 4” wide strap ⅛” thick or filler rod may be used. Both front doors may have a 6” wide by ¼” plate welded across them for protection only.
7. 9 wire is unlimited from front bumper to core support outside the radiator. You may also add 4 other strands of 9 wire anywhere you wish. Cannot attach to engine or trans protectors.
8. Drivers door and with passenger, passenger door may be reinforced for drivers and rider. Limited to the front 2 doors only.
Body Mounts.
1. You may replace all body mount bolts. You must have a minimum of a 1” gap between body and frame!!! Either use a solid metal spacer, a stack of washers, or the factory rubber spacers. If you use the rubber spacers do not flatten them out where the body is solid to frame or u will be losing bolts at the track!!
2. Body mount washers are to be no larger than 5” by 5” ¼” thick. These plates must remain free floating and up inside the frame as they were from the factory.
3. The 4 in the trunk and the core support may be 1”. All other body mount bolts must be ⅝” or smaller.
You may add two body mounts anywhere you wish. Must be a ⅝” bolt. 4inches may be welded to the frame. The bolt can be any length. It cannot connect to the cage or any driveline component or create a kicker!!!!
4. RUST REPAIR WILL BE ALLOWED, SHEET METAL ONLY. NO THICKER THAN FACTORY SHEETMETAL. 2” OVERLAP OF REPAIR. IT MAY BE WELDED OR BOLTED. THIS RULE SHOULD HELP CARS THAT HAVE A RUSTY TRUNK MOUNT OR RUSTY ROOF.
SUSPENSION
1. Suspension must be original factory suspension for a car example…..ford to ford. Spring raisers are allowed, coil springs may be changed or doubled. Aftermarket ball joints and weld in rings are fine.
2. Tie rods must have factory appearing ends, No heims! You may brace the center tube with angle or pipe. Aftermarket is fine but must have a factory type end!
3. INSTEAD OF FIGHTING SPRING RAISERS OR KICKING FRONT SPRINGS I AM GOING TO ALLOW UPPER A ARMS TO BE WELDED DOWN IF YOU WISH. YOU WILL BE ALLOWED 2 PIECES OF 2" WIDE BY 6" LONG 1/4 " PLATE TO SECURE A ARM PER SIDE.
4. No plating up a arms! No ball joint protectors!
5. Factory spindle and A arm swaps are allowed MUST BE CAR TYPE.
HOODS
MUST BE OPEN AT INSPECTION! So don’t come to inspection line with hood bolted down….
1. Hoods must have two (2) holes, at least four (4) inches in diameter on each side of the carburetor. Not directly on top of the carburetor. If the hood is removed, either the fan or fan belt must be removed.
2. Hoods must be open during inspection.
3. Hoods may be secured by 2 pieces of 1” all thread outboard the radiator. Cannot be sleeved.
4. You may have 8 total hood bolts! 2 by 2 ¼” angle iron back to back 4” long X ¼” thick with a single ½” bolt or ⅝” bolts sheet metal to sheet metal. If your core support bolts go through the hood that counts as 2. With all thread, then 3 more attachment points down each side of the hood.
5. You may have up to 20 ⅜” bolts to bolt hood cutouts and hood bracing together,
TRUNKS
1. You may use 4 pieces of one inch all thread to secure the trunk lid. All thread must go thru factory rear body mounts only. Washers may be no larger than 5 inches in diameter. No sleeving the all thread.
2. Trunk lids may be welded 5” on, 5” off. 4"wide by 1/8” thick strap only or filler rod.
3. The trunk lid must remain on hinges and rear tail light panel must remain vertical.
4. The trunk lid may be v’d in the center, but must remain at least 10” off the trunk floor.
5. TRUNK MUST HAVE TWO 10 by 10 INSPECTION HOLES CUT IN TRUNK LID!!! You may bolt the inspection holes back together with 5 ⅜” bolts.
SAFETY CAGES
1. All cars must have a safety cage and roll over bar.
2. A 4 point cage minimum is required. Your cage must have a dash bar that must be 5” from the firewall and transmission bell housing. Everyone that is running a center bar it must remain 5” off trans tunnel also!!! Your cage must have a bar behind the driver’s seat. You must have (2) side bars and they must not be farther than the rear wheel wells and must not extend past your firewall.
3. DP and or DASH cannot touch any point during or after the derby. You will be disqualified. (I have a new indicator for this)
4. Roll over bar cannot be more than 6” behind driver’s seat. Roll over bar can be bolted or welded to roof in 4 spots.
5. The cage can be welded to sheet metal only. Cage must be in the drivers compartment. CAN BE IN THE DOORS!!!!!! You can have up to four (4) down posts and they may be welded to the top side of frame only!!!!!!! Do not put down tubes in the frame or on the side of the frame!! TOP SIDE ONLY!!! They must be straight up and down and must be no farther forward than the inner front door seam. Basically this means your down tubes cannot be angled to rear humps or the body mount boxes at the firewall!!
5.All Cage material can be made out of 6” pipe or 6” square tubing. This means you get 6 inches of material welded to frame for down tubes!!!
6. Gas tank protectors are allowed. Protector may be 36 “ wide where it meets the rear package tray body pan. It can be tight but it may not be bolted or welded to the frame. You may build off of you tank protector to protect your fuel cell. It may not connect to the roof or floorboards in any way and must stay in the 36” rule!! Nothing added to this bar top or bottom
FRAMES

2. All factory frame holes must be left open.
3. Any reinforcing of frame found will result in disqualification.
4. Sub frame cars cannot be tied together. If you want to run a full frame car, buy a full frame car, don’t build one.
5. You can shorten the front frame only to aid in mounting front bumper. YOU MUST NOT TOUCH FRONT MOUNT!!! Must have 3 ½” of factory frame in front of factory front body mount. This is where your 2 front all thread is installed.
6. Any steering columns will be allowed.
7. Rear frame rails may not be shortened. No added metal.
8. You may chain your rear axle to the frame hump. ( 3/8” max chain) 2 chain lengths may be welded to frame.
9. All cars may be tilted.
10. New style ford may cut and reweld the 3 sides of the crush box that it takes to tilt!!! THAT’S IT
11. No frame seam welding!!
12. 77 and newer gms may have a 22” long ⅜” thick hump plate. This plate must contour the frame. It cannot run straight across!!
13. Sway bars on the front must remain factory mounted to frame!! No Welding!!! Your sway bar may be bolted to lower A arm.
14.prerun car (USED) can have 2 – patch plates 4”x4”x1/4”, must be painted in bright color so it’s easily noticed. Can not cut these in half, then you’d have 4. AFTER INSPECTION OR HEATS NO WELDING THESE PLATES ON. IF ADDITIONAL PLATES ARE FOUND AFTER INSPECTION – NO MONEY WILL PAID OUT

BUMPERS
1. OEM STOCK shock canister only. ANY BUMPER ON ANY CAR.
2. Bumpers may be welded on. Weld them on good, we do not want to pick them up off the track.
3. YOU MAY BOLT A CHAIN FROM BUMPER TO BUMPER SHOCK AT THE FRAME 3/8 MAX
4. Bumpers can be loaded on inside only (DEC BUMPERS ARE OK)
5. Bumpers can be no higher than 26" from the ground to the top of the bumper or lower than 16" from the ground to the bottom of the bumper.
6. Bumpers may be hardnosed but do not shorten the frame more than #5 above in frame section
7. No welding allowed past factory most rear point of where your bumper bracket used to be for the car you are building.
8. If u do not run factory bumper shocks or brackets for the car you are running you are allowed a 3”wide ⅜” thick 6” long plate to help attach the front bumper. No putting mopar shocks on the front of a new style ford!! See #7 in this section
9. Homemade bumpers are allowed. No more than an 11” point, point must contour (start) to the outer part of the frame. Bumpers must look like a factory bumper. OEM otter chrome skin on them.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
1. Any engine or transmission may be used in any car, but must be mounted within 6” of the original motor. Engine cannot protrude into the passenger compartment before the race.
2. ANY ENGINE CRADLE ALLOWED may use aftermarket or homemade motor mounts .DP and or DASH CAN NOT TOUCH DASH BAR AT ANY POINT DURING OR AFTER THE DERBY. 2 chains allowed (1 per side of engine, 3/8ths chain max) bolted to engine or cradle and must be welded or bolted to engine cross member of car only, nothing mounting your engine may be attached to frame rails at any point!!!!!
3. Chains will be permitted, but this is only to help hold your engine in place and must meet approval of officials. (Nothing adding strength to car)
4. Transmission oil coolers and engine oil coolers are permitted. They must be secure and contained and covered inside the car, for the driver’s protection.
5. Skid plates are allowed.
6. Distributor protectors are allowed. Transmission braces and aftermarket bell housings will be allowed and used like they are meant to be used.
7. Factory aluminum engine cradles in 2003 and newer cars may NOT be changed. No homemade cradles.
8.HOMEMADE Gas Pedals and Shifters Are Allowed
9. OEM transmission cross member or 2x2 ¼” square tube. 6” of 3” by 3” ¼” angle may be used to mount cross member to frame.
10. 2 ⅝” bolts bolted through tail housing 1 loop of ⅜” chain or 6 inches of weld to attach transmission to trans cross member.
REAR END
1. Any automotive or aftermarket rear end
2. On models originally equipped with leaf springs, springs may be 5/16” thick and must have a 2” stagger.
3. Leaf springs shackles must remain factory and in working condition. May not be solid!!!!
4. Slider drive shaft is permitted.
5. You may have five (5) spring clamps per spring pack. 2” wide with no bigger than 7/16” bolts.
6. Trailing arms may me reinforced or homemade. Tubing may be used. Watts conversions are allowed.
TIRES
1. Any Tires 15 inches or smaller.
2. No solid wheels stock OEM only. YOU MAY WELD IN WHEEL CENTERS for multi lug use. Foam filled or bead locks are allowed, we do not want any flats. Valve stem protectors are allowed.
Everybody needs to read and RE-READ these rules.

If you are found to be too built for these rules, you will be given 2 options.
A. CUT OR REMOVE ILLEGAL PARTS.
B. LOAD ON TRAILER AND GO HOME.

1. Pit gate opens at 2pm DERBY STARTS at 7pm
2. An entry fee of $35 will be charged for each car entered. $30 for passenger. $20 for pit passes Fees must be paid prior to inspection. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE DUE TO FAILURE TO MEET REGULATIONS! All cars should be signed in 1 hour before race time and inspected 30 minutes before race time. Late fee will apply, example after 6:00 pm, if show starts at 7:00 pm and 2:00 pm if the shows starts at 3:00 pm. drivers $100 and riders $50. This is to ensure the race starts on time.

GENERAL RULES
3. Top five in feature must actively compete at end, no driving yourself on barriers or dirt berms. Failure to comply could result in complete restart with all feature qualifiers actively competing again or disqualification.
4. No reinforcements allowed other than specified in these rules. Any metal added to reinforce the car is illegal. You will only be allowed 2 trips thru the inspection line.
5. NO PAINTING, UNDERCOATING, OILING OR GREASING OF FRAMES. YOU WILL NOT BE INSPECTED. THIS INCLUDES PAINTING OF THE FRAME FLAT BLACK.
6. NO HITTING IN DRIVERS DOOR, but no using driver door as a shield. If the hit is deemed by the official to be careless or intentional, you will be disqualified. If you use your driver’s door as a defense, we will not enforce the rules. If you use the door as a defense repeatedly you will be disqualified. This will be at the judges’ discretion.
7. NO hot-rodding in the pits! Keep it at an idle.
8. Any open door or second fire will cause disqualification. If in a heat, you may fix it and come back in the consolation. In the feature, you will be disqualified.
9. You must make AGGRESSIVE contact every 60 seconds.
10. Sandbagging is not tolerated and will be strictly enforced. Locking up the brakes prior to a hit for anything other than a driver’s door will be cause for disqualification. The fans pay to see a show, put one on for them!
11. IF YOU THINK SOMEONE IS SANDBAGGING, HIT THEIR CAR WITH YOUR CAR ON THE TRACK.
12. Winning cars plus three out of the money must remain on track until released by officials, or will not be paid prize money. Cars are subject to re-inspection before any prize money is handed out. Cars found illegal will be stripped of all prize money for that event.
13. Any questions or controversies will be discussed at the drivers meeting
14. YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST A 12” X 12” ROOF SIGN WITH YOUR CAR NUMBER ON IT.
15. All drivers must pick up trophies and earnings at the completion of the event, or forfeit. They will not be available after that date.
16. All persons MUST sign entry form, insurance waiver, release form, pay entry fees, and purchase pit pass before entering pit area.
17. THERE IS NO ALCOHOL IN THE PITS. This includes pit crews. If you or ANY of your crew is caught with alcohol, you will be disqualified.
18. No harassing of the judges will be allowed at any time by drivers, passengers, crewmembers or spectators. Failure to abide by this rule, the driver will forfeit all money and all involved will be escorted from premises.
19. Registration forms will be filled out the day of the event. All drivers must be at least 16 years of age; drivers 16 and 17 must have a parent or legal guardian sign a minor release form
20. All drivers must wear approved helmets, eye protection either safety glasses or visor on helmet, long pants, and shirt. Also all drivers and riders must wear working seat belts. This will be enforced in 2018 or you will not run!!!!
21. - Drivers must remain in the vehicle with helmet, seatbelt and eye protection on until notified by an official that it is safe to exit the vehicle.
22. A driver that receives a black flag for an intentional door hit will be disqualified from all competition for that night. A driver that receives a black flag for sandbagging or 1 fire in the interior of the car will be disqualified. 2 fires on the exterior will be disqualified, if in heat you may go to consolation. This will be at the judges’ discretion.
23. This is not a team event; team driving will not be tolerated
24. All drivers must attend drivers’ meeting prior to derby
25. All cars must be removed from derby site by 12:00 noon the following day unless otherwise stated at drivers meeting. Failure to do this will result in cars being removed by and becoming property of Fair Board.

27. DO NOT paint anywhere on suspension or frame; if we can tell it’s been painted, we will not even inspect your car.
28.ALL SUNROOFS MUST BE COVERED WITH A THIN SHEET OF METAL, I.E. WELED OR BOLTED (WITH BOLT HEAD INSIDE THE CAR) OR RIVETED. NO # 9 wire or chain to accomplish this will be allowed.
2018 STOCK RULES … JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL
1. DO NOT READ ANYTHING INTO THESE RULES, JUST READ THE RULES!! If it doesn't say you can, YOU CAN'T! Or you will be loaded, your choice!
2. NO black cars, dark cars must have contrasting letter/numbers. DO NOT paint anywhere on suspension or frame; we will not even inspect your car.
3. Any year car EXCEPT No Imperials, no Suicide Lincolns, and no Hearses
4. Body components must be direct bolt up only. Must be factory hardware or equivalent in size
5. Remove all glass mirrors and plastic. Remove all decking in wagons
6. Vehicles must be swept clean of all debris
7. No sedagons, ZERO crease enhancements, ZERO sheet metal or frame shaping, forming or
folding.
8. - Front Windshield Bar is MANDATORY and is limited to two 2” wide x 1/4" thick straps or two 3/8” chains or two strands of 9 wire. May be welded or bolted or both. 6 inches on roof and 6 inches on firewall for attachment. 12” apart measured I.D. UPDATED 6/26/18
(1 min. with rider must have 2 max.)
HOOD
MUST BE OPEN AT INSPECTION! So don’t come to inspection line with hood bolted down….
1. Can replace front 2 body mounts with 2-1” all thread through the hood, with 4” washers
A. Can have a 4” or less spacer free floating between core support and frame.
2. Plus 2”x2” angel iron 4” long ¼” thick back to back 2 on each side of hood, with 1- ½” bolt in each or not both 4- ½” bolts sheet metal to sheet metal with 4” washers ¼” thick.
3. Hood must be 100% in stock location and open for inspection.
4. Anything can be removed or cut away but NOTHING can be added
5. Hood must have two (2) holes, at least SIX (6) inches in diameter on each side of carburetor – Not directly on top of carburetor.
6. IF HOOD IS REMOVED, EITHER FAN BLADE MUST BE REMOVED OR FAN BELT MUST BE CUT.
TRUNK—
1. Can replace any of the 4 rear body mounts with 2-1” all thread through the trunk, with 4” washers. Bottom nut and washer may be on bottom side of the frame, not to extend 1” past nut and may extend trunk. ZERO welding allowed mounting any of these threaded rods
2. Plus ( 4) 2”x2” angel iron 4” long ¼” thick back to back, with 1- ½” bolt in each or not both ( 4 ) - ½” bolts sheet metal to sheet metal with 4” washers ¼” thick.
3. Trunk must be 100% in stock location. Must be on the factory hinges, stock location or ½ cut off or “V’d” downward at ½ way point of the trunk or 90'd straight down at the halfway point.
4. Anything can be removed or cut away but NOTHING can be added
TAILGATE: 4 places with #9 wire.
DOORS
1. Drivers door or with passenger doors may be welded. You may weld outside only. You may weld solid; you may use 4" x 1/8" straps. All other doors 6 on and 6 off
BODYMOUNTS
1. Body mounts and spacers to remain stock and in place.DO NOT EVEN TOUCH THEM Exception, You may replace a broken one with 1/2” size bolt. Stock body pucks must be in place and all bottom nuts must be inside frame except front and rear all thread. ZERO welding allowed mounting this rod. If changed/replaced you must cut away the factory sheet metal for inspection and use a 3”x3”1/4” washer top and bottom.
FRAMES
1. NO welding on frames allowed.except….
2. If running a used car prior to this derby, you are allowed 2 patch plates max. Size 4”x4”x1/4”. Must be painted a bright color. So it is easily noticed for the inspectors. AFTER INSPECTION OR HEATS NO WELDING THESE PLATES ON. IF ADDITIONAL PLATES ARE FOUND AFTER INSPECTION – NO MONEY WILL PAID OUT
3. No plates on fresh cars to fix/patch rust holes, unless it’s a preran/used car then follow patch plate rule.
- SUSPENSION
1. All suspension must remain stock. ZERO aftermarket parts
2. Rear control arms may be changed but must be stock NO SHORTING %100 stock
3. You may use (store bought spring spacers only, no homemade, no spacers on top of the springs). Front and rear
4. You may have a double strand #9 wire to hold coil spring to rear end and leaf sprung cars may use 4 single strands #9 wire as leaf clamps or factory clamps.
5. You may run a double strand of #9 wire twisted together, behind the rear wheels from frame to frame. No extra mounting component can be used to mount this. Just wrap around frame and twist.
6. Factory or aftermarket steering column ok
7. If you’re running a 03 or newer must run/use stock/factory cradle.
8. aftermarket or homemade tie rods allowed, must have factory ends. NO HEIMS
- DRIVETRAIN
1. ANY drivetrain allowed with the following criteria.
2. You may swap engines, i.e... Chevy in a Ford. Factory location only. No cradle swaps
A. ANY ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION MAY BE USED IN ANY CAR, BUT MUST BE MOUNTED IN A STOCK POSITION. ON A V-BLOCK MOTOR, FRONT SPARK PLUGS MUST BE EVEN OR IN FRONT OF UPPER BALL JOINT; ON IN-LINE MOTORS, NUMBER TWO (2) SPARK PLUG MUST BE EVEN OR IN FRONT OF UPPER BALL JOINT.
3. Factory top and bottom (clams) motor mounts, same goes for tranny factory mount.
4. Only the lower stock engine mounts may be welded to cradle only. You may use two 1/2" thick 4x4 spacers to raise engine from steering components
5. No tranny protectors/braces, stock mounting only, stock cross members only, you may use a 2”x 2”x 1/4” angel iron 4” long welded only to inside frame rail to mount your stock cross member I.E. CHEVY DRIVE LINE IN A FORD. No other welding
6. You may weld rear end gears / spools ok. - No pinion brakes
7. REARENDS WILL STAY THE AS 2017, YOU CAN WELD STOCK OEM BRACKETS TO ANY 5 LUG REAREND, Reared swaps allowed no bracing, and no re-enforcement. Max axle size 31 spline, Ford, GM or Mopar Clarification: All must be factory axles(cast flanges) and rear ends, must be a direct bolt-in, NO fabricating or welding allowed of axles or reared(inside or outside)
8. All money winners will be subject to pull axles before payout at official’s discretion
9. You may run 1 spot of #9 wire doubled 4 strands total twisted together from rear end to frame per side, nothing thru body. .
10. Floor shifters allowed, headers allowed, gas pedals and brakes, Clarification: none may strengthen car
11. No engine cradles, pulley or DP protectors of any kind, and no aftermarket parts of this nature at all.
12. Engine oil pan and tranny pan protectors ok, flat bottom side only
13. Slip shafts allowed at all shows. A $100.00 bonus will be paid to the highest placing driver with an OEM car driveshaft.
CAGE AND HALO BAR:
1. You must have a 4 point cage. Two cross bars, one in dash area, and one behind driver’s seat that must be no more than 18" from back of driver seat. Two side bars cannot go past dash bar or more than 18" behind driver seat. Get your tape measure out. If your more than 18" you will have to cut.
2. Halo bar allowed must be in line with seat bar. NONE of these bars can contact floor or frame
3. Gas tank protector may be welded to back bar. Only 4” wider than the gas tank itself and must be 5 inches from rear sheet metal (package tray). The area that your upper back seat was from. This bar must be at 10” off the floor, measured from bottom rear seat area and must stay inside of interior of rear driver’s compartment. Nothing can be added to the top or bottom of this bar.
4. Drivers and passenger doors must be padded.
5. Gas tank and single battery must be moved and secured. Tank behind the seat, Battery centered in the passenger front floor.
6. NO PLASTIC TANKS, unless in a wooden box 1” thick minimum or a metal box ¼” minimum. All sides except top side. This also goes for if your using a metal boat tank.
7. Mounted in center of the back side area.
A. Battery and gas tank must be tight when coming through inspection line or you won’t be inspected.
8. Nothing may be mounted in a way that strengthens the car.
9. Tranny coolers allowed. Must be mounted in back seat area and approved by officials.
BUMPERS: OEM STOCK
1. You may load inside or back side of a factory OEM bumper. Must still look stock
2. You may weld front and rear bumper strait to frame/hard nose no added metal, only on the front can you shorten the frame you must leave 3 1/2” in front factory location of the front body mount. This is the body mount that you run your all thread through. Use following the rules for the front bumper if using a shock only.
3. You may weld bumper bracket(in factory location) to frame 4 inches from the back of bumper, , in addition you may put 4 one inch welds on back side of bumper bracket or to weld shock inside frame(example Crown Vics).
4. If your car did not come with a shock (example 71 Chevy) you may use a 74-76 CHEVY CANS welded to factory specs OR BOP bracket bolted/ mounted in stock location with stock bolts.
5. You may chain, 2 piece of chain per side bolted or welded (weld one link on each end) from the mount to mount to hold on the bumper.
TIRES: Brakes MUST work.
1. Forklift and skid loader tires are allowed
2. All wheels and rims must be strictly stock, except you are allowed 7” wheel centers.
3 .Valve stem protectors are allowed.
4. Liquid in tires is allowed. Studs and screws in rims to hold tires in place are allowed

2018 MINI-CAR RULES
1. Must be powered by four or six cylinder engine
2. Wheelbase must be 108 inches or less. NO EXCEPTIONS!
A. NO moving/bending a stock or aftermarket component to shorten wheel base.
3. No four-wheel drive vehicles.
4. MANDATORY! All four/six cylinder cars must have a cage. Four point minimum.
5. Stock gas tank MUST be removed. A METAL BOAT TANK OR HOMEMADE METAL TANK must be mounted in rear seat area and bolted down with metal straps. NO PLASTIC TANKS!!!
A. Battery and gas tank must be tight when coming through inspection line or you wont be inspected.
6. All lines under car must be steel lines or if running rubber lines they must be inside of the car.
7. If OEM bumper had no bolts bumper homemade bumper brackets may go six (6) inches from back side of bumper.
8. No pipe over struts.
9. No kickers
10. No aftermarket or homemade extreme cradle/pullet protector
ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL
1. Cars previously run in Demolition Derby may install new front clip. Any clip may be used on any car, MUST be installed in stock manner. Officials MUST approve installation.
2. All glass, side windows, rear windows, headlights and taillights, must be removed before reaching racetrack. Rolling down windows is not permitted. . Remove all glass mirrors and plastic. Remove all decking in wagons. Vehicles must be swept clean of all debris
3. Rear seat of sedan must be removed, top and bottom. On station wagons all seats and decking must be removed. Station wagons must be emptied to floorboards. All cars must be swept clean, both drivers compartment and trunk. No spare tires, broken glass, or trash, etc., allowed in cars.
4. Cars must have a seatbelt and working brakes. MANDATORY!!
5. You can carry a fire extinguisher, but it must be mounted securely and free of movement.
6. Battery may be moved, but must be securely fastened and covered in passenger compartment. MAXIMUM OF TWO AUTOMOBILE TYPE BATTERIES ALLOWED. Battery and gas tank must be tight when coming through inspection line or you wont be inspected.
7. Any type automotive radiator may be used but must be mounted in stock position. NO RESERVE TANKS. A radiator cradle is allowed made of 1/8” metal 1” wider than the radiator. Bolted only to car and nothing in front of the radiator. AFTERMARKET OR HOME MADE RADIATOR CRADLE.
A. Front rad. screen max. Thickest 3/8” thick, bolted or 4 1” welds.
8. Fenders may be bolted together with 3/8 inch bolts or smaller with 3/8 inch or smaller washers only. A maximum of 10 bolts per fender.
9. All doors may be welded (Outside of body only), chained or wired. Straps cannot be larger than ¼” thick and 4 inches wide on door shell (vertical) and 2 inches wide on window frame. You may beat top of doors down and may tack them in three places with a maximum of 1” weld each.
10. No doubling of body panels allowed, no added metal allowed.
11. Patching floorboards, if you have to patch rusty floorboards you must cut out all the rust, overlap no more than 1” with same thickness as body material and sheet metal screws – no more than one every 4”. No Welding to floorboards or firewall.
12. You may crease/enhance sheet metal body panels but do not fold and weld. No extra metal may be added.
13. NO OTHER BODY WELDS OTHER THAN WHAT IS LISTED ABOVE. THIS INCLUDES BODY SEAMS ANYWHERE ON THE CAR.
14. ALL SUNROOFS MUST BE COVERED WITH A THIN SHEET OF METAL, I.E. WELED OR BOLTED (WITH BOLT HEAD INSIDE THE CAR) OR RIVETED. No #9 wire or chain to accomplish this will be allowed.
HOODS AND TRUNKS
MUST BE OPEN AT INSPECTION! So don’t come to inspection line with hood bolted down….
1. Hoods: must have two (2) holes, at least four (4) inches in diameter on each side of carburetor – Not directly on top of carburetor. IF HOOD IS REMOVED, EITHER FAN BLADE MUST BE REMOVED OR FAN BELT MUST BE CUT.
2. NO SECOND ALL THREAD WELDED TO SIDE OF THE FRAME AND RAN THROUGH THE AT MID POINT OF THE HOOD.
3. On all cars, hoods, trunks, and tailgates may be secured with the following method: on front of car, two pieces of 1 inch all thread, NO SLEEVING, Can have a 4” or less spacer free floating between core support and frame, with a washer no larger than six (6) inches O.D. and 3/8 inch thick, all threads MUST be mounted outboard of the radiator. In addition to all threads, six (6) 1 inch O.D. bolts with a washer no larger than six (6) inches O.D. and 3/8 inch thick, or you may use angle iron back to back with a bolt through it. Angle iron cannot be more than 3/16 thick or longer than 6 inches. Three on each side of car, a total of six. Total of 6 bolts and 2 up front all threads holding the hood down and any amount of wire or cable. All wire, or cable MUST be mounted outboard of radiator. A maximum of 20 bolts 3/8 inch or smaller are allowed to bolt together hood seams.
TRUNK 4 pieces of 5/8 inch all thread, with a washer no larger than six (6) inches O.D. and 3/8 inch thick, all threads may be mounted through deck lid and frame anywhere in trunk, can be welded to the frame or in body mount holes. In addition to all threads, you may weld trunk 5 on 5 off, Straps should not be larger than ¼” thick or 4 inches wide or six (6) 1 inch O.D. bolts with a washer no larger than six (6) inches O.D. and 3/8 inch thick, or 10 3/8” bolts in the drip rail, not both one or the other and any amount of wire or cable. If trunk is welded must have a 12” hole in trunk lid. On station wagons two pieces of 1 inch all thread, with a washer no larger than six (6) inches O.D. and 3/8 inch thick, all threads may be used in the rear through roof and stock body mount replacing existing bolt.
TAILGATE weld 5 on 5 off, Straps should not be larger than ¼” thick or 4 inches wide or six (6) 1-inches O.D. bolts with a washer no larger than six (6) inches O.D. and 3/8 inch thick, and any amount of wire or cable. YOU CAN WELD WASHERS (no bigger than 5/8 washer and must be at least 12” apart) TO THE BODY TO RUN WIRE THROUGH.
A. No carburetor protector outside the intake area or DP.
B. You may have rear window bar 2”X2”X1/4” MAX. IN SIZE, 6” max. on roof 4”X4”X1/4” FLAT PLATE TO ATTACH TO THIS BAR TOP AND BOTTOM and must be centered on front side drip rail on trunk no further back or forward (2” on each side). Weld to the strapping on your trunk. There must be 6” minimum distance (gap) from the top of this bar on the roof and halo bar…. This is the only location allowed for this bar.
BODY MOUNTS
1. All body mount bolts may be replaced with 1/2 inch O.D. bolts with a stamped washer. Do not take them out and place body on frame. If replaced, a gap of 1” minimum is mandatory between body and frame. You may replace with a stack of washers, or one piece of anything solid, as long as it is about the same diameter as the factory bushing. Do NOT crush factory body bushings. Body mount bolts inside passenger compartment that are close together may have one washer six (6) inches x twelve (12) inches, must have two (2) or more body mount bolts through washer. You may add two (2) additional body mount bolts per side inside passenger compartment. All all-threads MUST have nut on top and bottom and NO welds.
4. A minimum of one chain or wire running from the outside (top) of roof down to the cowl or BAR DOWN TO DASH BAR OF CAGE on the front window is MANDATORY for safety. Maximum of two. IF YOU HAVE A PASSENGER MUST HAVE 2. IF USING METAL STRAPS MAX. SIZE 2” WIDE X ¼” THICK, 12” ID APART. CAN GO TO FRONT DASH BAR OR COWL THEN TO TOP LIP AREA OF WINDSHIELD ONLY.
CAGE AND HALO BARS
1. All driver and passenger doors may be reinforced. You should have a six (6)-point cage, MININMUM OF A 4PT. CAGE. cross bars may be ran as follows, one across dash, one behind front seats, and one in rear seat area ( 3rd bar must be at 10” off the floor, measured from bottom rear seat area) 3rd bar must stay inside of interior of rear drivers compartment nothing past package tray. Nothing can be added to the top or bottom of this bar.
2. You can run four (4) down tubes, two (2) per side. 2 of these down tubes must mounted mandatory in the following way on each side, 1 down tube must be to flat part of the frame no further forward then the inner front door seam, with a max distance of 2’ from the same measuring point. Lower door bars are allowed between down tubes must be 6 inches or more above top of frame. NOTHING OUT OF DRIVERS’ COMPARTMENT. You can have steel plate between cage and front doors. Must be securely fastened to cage. Front bar must be mounted no more than 2” below the bottom of the front window seal and be no more than 4” in diameter. Must have 6” between front bar and center of firewall on a fresh car. Front bar cannot be attached to firewall at any time. ALL DOWN TUBES MUST BE BEHIND DASH BAR, STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN AND ON FLAT PART OF FRAME. CAN NOT GO TO BODY MOUNT BOXES. NO KICKERS TO REAR HUMPS. NOTHING OUT OF REAR DRIVERS COMPARTMENT. You cannot weld anything to front bar protruding toward the distributor protector. No grater blades, metal plates or tubing on exterior of body (driver & passenger doors).
3. DP can’t touch dash bar during or at the end of the derby or you will be disqualified.
4. Halo bars are allowed. Can be attached to bar behind your seat or could be run to the frame but it would be counted as one of your down tubes. There must be 6” minimum distance (gap) from halo bar and the top of your rear window bar….
5. This is not mandatory but we encourage everyone to put a steel plate between cage and front driver and passenger doors. Thickness of metal is up to driver. Must be securely attached to cage, must be 2” off of floor, this is for protection not reinforcement.
FRAME
1. DO NOT REWELD ENGINE CROSS MEMBER SEAMS OR ANY OTHER BRACKETS ATTACHED TO FRAME OR SHEET METAL under hood or trunk. NO CONCRETE!!! DO NOT WELD FACTORY HOLES UP; ALL FACTORY HOLES MUST BE OPEN FOR INSPECTION OF FRAME.
2. You cannot alter frame in any way other than specified in rules. Do not crease or reshape frame.
3. You may run one (1) wire or chain from frame rail to frame rail underneath back of car behind back tires/wheels.
4. You may put a bolt with a stamped flat washer thru frame to hold it together. Only one (1) per wheel opening must be loose during inspection. DO NOT weld washer. (Pinning of frame)
5. You may notch the frame for minimal pre-bending, but do NOT weld the cut.
6. If changing front stub, cut 3 inches behind second cross member bolt hole. When replacing, can overlap 2 ½”, able to weld both sides, but no adding extra metal. Must be of the same make and model.
7. If restubbing one side of the frame, you are allowed to cut and fit the new frame flush and weld one pass all the way around (butt – fit – weld). Must be of the same make and model.
8. All trailer hitches MUST be totally removed.
9.2018 THIS INCLUDES MINI’S: If running a used car prior to this derby, you are allowed 2 patch plates max. Size 4”x4”x1/4”. Must be painted a bright color. So it is easily noticed for the inspectors. AFTER INSPECTION OR HEATS NO WELDING THESE PLATES ON. IF ADDITIONAL PLATES ARE FOUND AFTER INSPECTION – NO MONEY WILL PAID OUT
10. No plates on fresh cars to fix/patch rust holes, unless it’s a preran/used car then follow patch plate rule.
BUMPERS
1. Any OEM shock canister may be bolted or welded to any car. AMOUNTS OF BOLTS OR WELDS MAY NOT EXCEED TYPICAL STOCK INSTALLATION. Homemade bumper brackets are permitted, NO GUSSETS OR BRACING. NOT TO EXTEND BEHIND OEM MOUNTING BOLT LOCATION ON FRAME. May use 2½” max. Round or square tubing. No thicker than ¼ inch. No solid stock may be used. This can only extend into the frame a max. of 8”. Will be drilled at 8 ¼” measured from the front edge of the frame on every car. Any OEM stock automobile bumper may be bolted or welded to the shock canister or bumper brackets. You may use two (2) pieces of light chain per shock. Fenders and bumper ends may be trimmed to allow for wheel clearance.
2. Front bumper may be reinforced inside or behind and end to end. Must have chrome on the outer part of the bumper from any OEM bumper shaped to fit. You may weld outer chrome of bumper to inner skin of bumper. Nothing else can be welded to outer chrome. You cannot alter angle of bumper. Anything coming out of bumper during race will be cause for disqualification. 11” of point and must contour from frame to frame and must be stock appearing on pointy bumpers.
3. You may have 6" long 4" wide 1/4" thick bumper support bracket, butt fit against bumper or 2" onto bumper. If you’re running a preran and choice to put your extra. 4 by 4 1/4" plate up front there must be at least a 1/8" gap between the 2 plates. Any questions please call.
SUSPENSION
1. Stiffness of suspension will be left up to the discretion of the driver. NO OTHER METAL ADDED!
2. Homemade tie rods and homemade steering shaft are permitted.
3. No pipe over struts
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
1. ANY ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION MAY BE USED IN ANY FRONT WHEEL DRIVE CAR, BUT MUST BE MOUNTED IN A STOCK POSITION.
2. Chained, welded, or homemade motor mounts will be permitted, but must meet approval of officials.
3. At motor mount to sub-frame your allowed 2 per side of motor mount a 2”x3”x1/4” plate on its side welded to frame and engine cradle
4. Any type of header is allowed, but must be directed away from driver compartment.
5. Transmission oil coolers and engines oil coolers are permitted. Inspection personnel must approve all mountings, lines, and fittings.
6. Skid plates are allowed. Must be separate oil/transmission plates. No full-length skid plates. No bolting or welding to frame.
7. Distributor protectors are allowed. Cannot be any wider than 12” and must not protrude more than 2” from transmission mounting surface on back of engine block. Must be attached to engine or transmission mounting bolts.
8. No aftermarket or homemade extreme cradle/pullet protector
9. No carburetor protector outside the intake area or DP.
10. You may beat flat the engine side of the firewall only, do not weld or bolt firewall. Do not re-enforce the firewall/cowl. Do not beat, paint, bolt, weld on, weld to or modify the driver’s side of the firewall/cowl in any way.
11. Transmission protectors are allowed. MUST FLOAT OVER CROSSMEMBER
12. Must have stock/OEM cross member
GAS TANKS
Battery and gas tank must be tight when coming through inspection line or you won’t be inspected.
1. Stock gas tank MUST be removed. A METAL BOAT TANK OR HOMEMADE METAL TANK must be mounted in rear seat area and bolted down with metal straps. Other types of installations will not be allowed. NO GAS CANS with hoses duct taped. A Marine (boat) tank or an official approved homemade tank is mandatory. All tanks MUST be covered with a rubber cover. All tanks MUST have secure cap. All lines and fittings MUST be leak proof and meet approval of Officials. Electric fuel pumps are permitted but MUST have shut-off within reach of driver. NO MORE THAN ten (10) GALLONS OF GAS IN TANK.
2. NO PLASTIC TANKS, unless in a wooden box 1” thick minimum or a metal box ¼” minimum. All sides except top side. This also goes for if your using a metal boat tank.
3. Mounted in center of the back side area.
FOR THE MINI-CAR DERBY CLASS, YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO MOVE THE STOCK GAS TANK INTO THE BACK SEAT AREA.
REAR END
1. . Any automobile rear end can be used in any car. You cannot transform a coil spring to leaf spring or vice versa. On models originally equipped with leaf springs, stock leaf springs and hangers MUST be used. Leaf packs on all cars may have no more than 8 leaves per pack Must be OEM stock. Homemade spring perches or homemade trailing arm brackets may be welded to rear end. Rear end spider gears may be welded solid. You may tilt rear end by shortening or lengthening rear end control arms. Trailing arms may be reinforced. Rear end housing may be reinforced. No dually wheels allowed..
2. Any drive shaft or U joint may be used. Welding of drive shaft is permitted.
3. No extra metal added. Any bracket that shows reinforcement to the frame will not be allowed. JUDGES HAVE FINAL DECISION.
TIRES
1. Only sixteen (16) inch or smaller tires and wheels will be allowed. NO SPLIT RIMS ALLOWED.
2. Valve stem protectors, liquid in tires permitted or screws in rims to hold tires in place permitted.

Please read carefully. If car does not pass inspection or driver is unwilling to change car to pass inspection, absolutely no refunds!!! All rules will be followed or you will not run! If it does not say it in the rules – don’t just assume you can do it. CALL FIRST!!!!

2018 Light mod rules!!
Your allowed only 2 passes through inspection line to correct your car to these rules
AUTOMOBILE BODY REGULATIONS- ALL JUDGES DECISIONS ARE FINAL
1. ANY Passenger car or station wagon only. No trucks, jeeps, hearses, limousines, or checkered cabs. No pre 1973 Chrysler Imperials and no Imperial Sub Frames. No PRE-1973 Lincolns.
2. Sedagons are allowed.
3. All glass, side windows, rear windows, headlights and taillights, must be removed before reaching the track. Rolling down windows is not permitted.
4. Rear seat of sedan must be removed, top and bottom. On station wagons all seats and decking must be removed. Station wagons must be emptied to the floorboards.
5. Cars must have a seatbelt and working brakes. MANDATORY or you won’t be allowed to run.
6. Battery may be moved, but must be securely fastened and covered in passenger compartment. TWO BATTERIES ARE ALLOWED.
A. Battery and gas tank must be tight when coming through inspection line or you wont be inspected.
7. Front Windshield Bar is MANDATORY and is limited to two 2” wide x 1/4" thick straps or two 3/8” chains or two strands of 9 wire. Must be at least 2 inches away from DP!!!!!! May be welded or bolted or both. 6 inches on roof and 6 inches on firewall for attachment. 12” apart measured I.D.
GAS TANKS AND FUEL PUMPS
1. Stock gas tank MUST be removed from original position and mounted in the rear seat area and secured. No rubber or chain straps. All tanks must have a secure cap. A marine tank or fuel cell is strongly recommended. All lines and fitting must be leak proof and meet approval of the track officials. Electric fuel pumps are allowed, with shut off switch marked.
2. All lines must be run inside car, not along the frame underneath.
3. All lines should be double clamped.
4. Battery and gas tank must be tight when coming through inspection line or you wont be inspected.
RADIATOR AND CORE SUPPORT
1. Radiator must be in stock position
2. Any automotive type radiator can be used. Aluminum Radiators are LEGAL.
3. No homemade radiators allowed
4. No reserve tanks and no added cooling capacity.
5. One electric fan, mounted to the radiator, may be used.
6. DO NOT MOVE CORE SUPPORT
7. If you use a core support spacer for your all thread to run through, the spacer may be welded to the frame and it must end at the bottom of core support.
8. You are allowed a factory ac condenser or ¼” mesh screen in front of radiator 36” wide, 6 ⅜” bolts or 6 1” welds to hold it in place. Spray foam may be used to protect radiator.
9. No homemade or aftermarket radiator cradles.
10. NO metal/wire/chain in front of radiator, even if used to secure radiator.
BODY
1. No body seams may be welded. No metal may be added.
2. No doubling of body panels allowed, no added metal allowed.
3. Body creasing will be allowed.
4. Body creasing will be limited to the outside of the car body only!!!! No creasing firewalls, trans tunnels, trunk floors, and or etc.
5. Fenders may be bolted together. Max of 10 3/8” BOLTS ABOVE EACH FENDER WELL.
6. Doors may be chained, wired, or welded. When welding doors you may weld them 5 on 5 off 4” wide strap ⅛” thick or filler rod may be used. Both front doors may have a 6” wide by ¼” plate welded across them for protection only.
7. 9 wire is unlimited from front bumper to core support outside the radiator. You may also add 4 other strands of 9 wire anywhere you wish. Cannot attach to engine or trans protectors.
8. Drivers door and with passenger, passenger door may be reinforced for drivers and rider. Limited to the front 2 doors only.
Body Mounts.
1. You may replace all body mount bolts. You must have a minimum of a 1” gap between body and frame!!! Either use a solid metal spacer, a stack of washers, or the factory rubber spacers. If you use the rubber spacers do not flatten them out where the body is solid to frame or u will be losing bolts at the track!!
2. Body mount washers are to be no larger than 5” by 5” ¼” thick. These plates must remain free floating and up inside the frame as they were from the factory.
3. The 4 in the trunk and the core support may be 1”. All other body mount bolts must be ⅝” or smaller.
You may add two body mounts anywhere you wish. Must be a ⅝” bolt. 4inches may be welded to the frame. The bolt can be any length. It cannot connect to the cage or any driveline component or create a kicker!!!!
4. RUST REPAIR WILL BE ALLOWED, SHEET METAL ONLY. NO THICKER THAN FACTORY SHEETMETAL. 2” OVERLAP OF REPAIR. IT MAY BE WELDED OR BOLTED. THIS RULE SHOULD HELP CARS THAT HAVE A RUSTY TRUNK MOUNT OR RUSTY ROOF.
SUSPENSION
1. Suspension must be original factory suspension for a car example…..ford to ford. Spring raisers are allowed, coil springs may be changed or doubled. Aftermarket ball joints and weld in rings are fine.
2. Tie rods must have factory appearing ends, No heims! You may brace the center tube with angle or pipe. Aftermarket is fine but must have a factory type end!
3. INSTEAD OF FIGHTING SPRING RAISERS OR KICKING FRONT SPRINGS I AM GOING TO ALLOW UPPER A ARMS TO BE WELDED DOWN IF YOU WISH. YOU WILL BE ALLOWED 2 PIECES OF 2" WIDE BY 6" LONG 1/4 " PLATE TO SECURE A ARM PER SIDE.
4. No plating up a arms! No ball joint protectors!
5. Factory spindle and A arm swaps are allowed MUST BE CAR TYPE.
HOODS
MUST BE OPEN AT INSPECTION! So don’t come to inspection line with hood bolted down….
1. Hoods must have two (2) holes, at least four (4) inches in diameter on each side of the carburetor. Not directly on top of the carburetor. If the hood is removed, either the fan or fan belt must be removed.
2. Hoods must be open during inspection.
3. Hoods may be secured by 2 pieces of 1” all thread outboard the radiator. Cannot be sleeved.
4. You may have 8 total hood bolts! 2 by 2 ¼” angle iron back to back 4” long X ¼” thick with a single ½” bolt or ⅝” bolts sheet metal to sheet metal. If your core support bolts go through the hood that counts as 2. With all thread, then 3 more attachment points down each side of the hood.
5. You may have up to 20 ⅜” bolts to bolt hood cutouts and hood bracing together,
TRUNKS
1. You may use 4 pieces of one inch all thread to secure the trunk lid. All thread must go thru factory rear body mounts only. Washers may be no larger than 5 inches in diameter. No sleeving the all thread.
2. Trunk lids may be welded 5” on, 5” off. 4"wide by 1/8” thick strap only or filler rod.
3. The trunk lid must remain on hinges and rear tail light panel must remain vertical.
4. The trunk lid may be v’d in the center, but must remain at least 10” off the trunk floor.
5. TRUNK MUST HAVE TWO 10 by 10 INSPECTION HOLES CUT IN TRUNK LID!!! You may bolt the inspection holes back together with 5 ⅜” bolts.
SAFETY CAGES
1. All cars must have a safety cage and roll over bar.
2. A 4 point cage minimum is required. Your cage must have a dash bar that must be 5” from the firewall and transmission bell housing. Everyone that is running a center bar it must remain 5” off trans tunnel also!!! Your cage must have a bar behind the driver’s seat. You must have (2) side bars and they must not be farther than the rear wheel wells and must not extend past your firewall.
3. DP and or DASH cannot touch any point during or after the derby. You will be disqualified. (I have a new indicator for this)
4. Roll over bar cannot be more than 6” behind driver’s seat. Roll over bar can be bolted or welded to roof in 4 spots.
5. The cage can be welded to sheet metal only. Cage must be in the drivers compartment. CAN BE IN THE DOORS!!!!!! You can have up to four (4) down posts and they may be welded to the top side of frame only!!!!!!! Do not put down tubes in the frame or on the side of the frame!! TOP SIDE ONLY!!! They must be straight up and down and must be no farther forward than the inner front door seam. Basically this means your down tubes cannot be angled to rear humps or the body mount boxes at the firewall!!
5.All Cage material can be made out of 6” pipe or 6” square tubing. This means you get 6 inches of material welded to frame for down tubes!!!
6. Gas tank protectors are allowed. Protector may be 36 “ wide where it meets the rear package tray body pan. It can be tight but it may not be bolted or welded to the frame. You may build off of you tank protector to protect your fuel cell. It may not connect to the roof or floorboards in any way and must stay in the 36” rule!! Nothing added to this bar top or bottom
FRAMES
If changing front stub, cut 3 inches behind second cross member bolt hole. When replacing, can overlap 2 ½”, able to weld both sides, but no adding extra metal. Must be of the same make and model.
If restubbing one side of the frame, you are allowed to cut and fit the new frame flush and weld one pass all the way around (butt – fit – weld). Must be of the same make and model.
1. No welding, plating, or reinforcing of the frame.
2. All factory frame holes must be left open.
3. Any reinforcing of frame found will result in disqualification.
4. Sub frame cars cannot be tied together. If you want to run a full frame car, buy a full frame car, don’t build one.
5. You can shorten the front frame only to aid in mounting front bumper. YOU MUST NOT TOUCH FRONT MOUNT!!! Must have 3 ½” of factory frame in front of factory front body mount. This is where your 2 front all thread is installed.
6. Any steering columns will be allowed.
7. Rear frame rails may not be shortened. No added metal.
8. You may chain your rear axle to the frame hump. ( 3/8” max chain) 2 chain lengths may be welded to frame.
9. All cars may be tilted.
10. New style ford may cut and reweld the 3 sides of the crush box that it takes to tilt!!! THAT’S IT
11. No frame seam welding!!
12. 77 and newer gms may have a 22” long ⅜” thick hump plate. This plate must contour the frame. It cannot run straight across!!
13. Sway bars on the front must remain factory mounted to frame!! No Welding!!! Your sway bar may be bolted to lower A arm.
14.prerun car (USED) can have 2 – patch plates 4”x4”x1/4”, must be painted in bright color so it’s easily noticed. Can not cut these in half, then you’d have 4. AFTER INSPECTION OR HEATS NO WELDING THESE PLATES ON. IF ADDITIONAL PLATES ARE FOUND AFTER INSPECTION – NO MONEY WILL PAID OUT

BUMPERS
1. OEM STOCK shock canister only. ANY BUMPER ON ANY CAR.
2. Bumpers may be welded on. Weld them on good, we do not want to pick them up off the track.
3. YOU MAY BOLT A CHAIN FROM BUMPER TO BUMPER SHOCK AT THE FRAME 3/8 MAX
4. Bumpers can be loaded on inside only (DEC BUMPERS ARE OK)
5. Bumpers can be no higher than 26" from the ground to the top of the bumper or lower than 16" from the ground to the bottom of the bumper.
6. Bumpers may be hardnosed but do not shorten the frame more than #5 above in frame section
7. No welding allowed past factory most rear point of where your bumper bracket used to be for the car you are building.
8. If u do not run factory bumper shocks or brackets for the car you are running you are allowed a 3”wide ⅜” thick 6” long plate to help attach the front bumper. No putting mopar shocks on the front of a new style ford!! See #7 in this section
9. Homemade bumpers are allowed. No more than an 11” point, point must contour (start) to the outer part of the frame. Bumpers must look like a factory bumper. OEM otter chrome skin on them.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
1. Any engine or transmission may be used in any car, but must be mounted within 6” of the original motor. Engine cannot protrude into the passenger compartment before the race.
2. ANY ENGINE CRADLE ALLOWED may use aftermarket or homemade motor mounts .DP and or DASH CAN NOT TOUCH DASH BAR AT ANY POINT DURING OR AFTER THE DERBY. 2 chains allowed (1 per side of engine, 3/8ths chain max) bolted to engine or cradle and must be welded or bolted to engine cross member of car only, nothing mounting your engine may be attached to frame rails at any point!!!!!
3. Chains will be permitted, but this is only to help hold your engine in place and must meet approval of officials. (Nothing adding strength to car)
4. Transmission oil coolers and engine oil coolers are permitted. They must be secure and contained and covered inside the car, for the driver’s protection.
5. Skid plates are allowed.
6. Distributor protectors are allowed. Transmission braces and aftermarket bell housings will be allowed and used like they are meant to be used.
7. Factory aluminum engine cradles in 2003 and newer cars may NOT be changed. No homemade cradles.
8.HOMEMADE Gas Pedals and Shifters Are Allowed
9. OEM transmission cross member or 2x2 ¼” square tube. 6” of 3” by 3” ¼” angle may be used to mount cross member to frame.
10. 2 ⅝” bolts bolted through tail housing 1 loop of ⅜” chain or 6 inches of weld to attach transmission to trans cross member.
REAR END
1. Any automotive or aftermarket rear end
2. On models originally equipped with leaf springs, springs may be 5/16” thick and must have a 2” stagger.
3. Leaf springs shackles must remain factory and in working condition. May not be solid!!!!
4. Slider drive shaft is permitted.
5. You may have five (5) spring clamps per spring pack. 2” wide with no bigger than 7/16” bolts.
6. Trailing arms may me reinforced or homemade. Tubing may be used. Watts conversions are allowed.
TIRES
1. Any Tires 15 inches or smaller.
2. No solid wheels stock OEM only. YOU MAY WELD IN WHEEL CENTERS for multi lug use. Foam filled or bead locks are allowed, we do not want any flats. Valve stem protectors are allowed.
