Thankfully no one got hurt, and the transmission was already not functioning properly so he did not go flying around the track. I have seen throttle stick before but not wide open. Has this happened to anyone?

Yep, but I only run stock stuff, no where near the power. built myself a pinion brake to try to save the transmission next time it happens. Or maybe my car was just jinxed as it happened both times I ran it this year?

Seems like guys in my area run into this every yr. seen a few motors pop before the end of the heats.. bad deal but can happen.
