New to fwd figire 8 racing its kind of just taking off in my area so im looking for a few tips. I have a 92 chevy lumina with a 3400 motor nothing fancy i know how to set up a rwd race car but not a fwd. Most places we only run the outside of the 8 but a few places make us run the actual 8 i dont know really how to set it up for either or what options there really are for adjusting these cars to handle

Muddy track? If so, remove the front brakes and keep only rear brakes, let's you drift around the tire/pole, or if your lucky enough to have a car with a hand brake just use that, I have removed locking mechanism from emergency brake pedal assembly, extended the pedal, and used a large spring going to my door pillar to return the pedal, it worked well, but it was a work out, if I did it again I would just extend the pedal and put a shift handle on it to let me use it like a hand brake...

A good strut tower brace and pulling down the sway bar links will help.Just have a good tight front end, ball joints ect, and good shocks so you have tight control at the steering wheel.I run new lines on the front and cap off the back, with worn pads on front and new on back. The best tires for the track on front and donuts on rear.Remove hand brake lock and lock out the shifter park.
