2017 Morgan County Pro-Stock Rules
**** If Rules don’t say you can, then you can’t. ****
DRIVER’S DOOR SHOTS HAVE GOTTEN OUT OF HAND. SO, DRIVERS DOOR MUST BE PAINTED WHITE BEFORE GOING TO INSPECTION. IF YOU SHOW UP TO INSPECTION WITHOUT THE DOOR PAINTED WHITE, YOUR CAR WILL NOT BE INPSECTED UNTIL IT IS PAINTED.
1. Any full-sized car except Imperials, Checker Cabs, and Limousines. No 4x4 trucks or SUVs either. 2003 and newer Fords must use factory cradle, no cradle swaps. No frame swaps of any kind. ONLY 50% OF CAR CAN BE BLACK. NO ALL WHITE CARS.
2. Remove all flammable material and glass from the interior before arriving to the fair grounds. 3. Gas tank must be moved to back seat area and covered. Batteries must be moved to passenger floor board area and covered.
4. Driver’s door may be welded solid. All other doors may be #9 wired shut in 3 spots per seam or welded in 3 spots per seam with 3” square plates. #9 wire cannot wrap around the frame. Driver’s door protection is allowed. For example: an outside door plate that can overlap the door seams up to 6”, or a plate on the inside of the door, but CANNOT be welded to the cage, only the body. 5. Must have wire or chain ONLY from roof to firewall in windshield area. 6. Front radiator support bolts may be changed, using 5/8” all thread with a maximum of 4” FLOATING spacer. Spacer cannot be welded to anything. No altering of the factory radiator support frame mounts. All thread can go up through core support and used as 2 hood ties. All thread washers cannot be bigger than 4” x 4”. The 4 other hood ties are #9 wire only. If you show up with all thread larger than 5/8”, you will take it out completely and use #9 wire to mount the radiator support and tie the hood down. 7. The back 4 body mounts in the trunk may also be changed with 5/8” bolts. Must have a 1” spacer between body and frame. Bolts can only go through the top of the frame and bottom trunk pan. Washers cannot be bigger than 4” x 4” on top of trunk pan. If a body mount is broken, you can repair it by wrapping 2 strands of #9 wire through body and around the frame.
8. Trunk lid can be wired shut in up to 6 places. No welding! The trunk lid can be “V’ed” and quarter panels can be creased. Quarters panels must stay in the vertical position. No folding quarters over the trunk lid. Trunk lid must have 12” hole in it for inspection purposes. No rear window bars, chain, or wire! 9. May have a 4 point cage, no bigger than 4” tubing with a rollover bar attached. Dash bar must be 6” off of transmission tunnel, and 6” from firewall. No down legs. Gas tank protector must be 6 inches from rear sheet metal, and 6” off of the floor, and only 32” wide. Door bars can only be 60” long, anything longer and it will be cut down. Driver’s door protection is allowed. For example: an outside door plate that can overlap the door seams up to 6”, or a plate on the inside of the door, but CANNOT be welded to the cage, only the body. No chains from cage bars to transmission or cross member, #9 wire ONLY. No chains or #9 wire from the roof of the car to the frame anywhere in the car.
10. Any drive train in any car. Any lower engine mounts can be used. If you have stock rubber lower engine mounts you can #9 wire engine down in 2 places. ¼” plate may be welded to cross frame in Chryslers and rear steer cars. Nothing to frame! No engine chains. No 8 lug rear ends. 10.1 If you have a distributor protector, the firewall must be cut out. Must be cut out enough for DP to fit through. 10.2 If you have a pulley protector the sway bar has to be mounted with factory mounts on the frame rail and lower a-arms for that vehicle. 10.3 Aftermarket shifter, steering column, headers, gas and brake pedals, and slider drive shafts are allowed. 10.4 NO KICKER TO THE DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTOR OR THE TRANSMISSION BELL HOUSING OR THE TRANSMISSION PROTECTOR. Trans. protectors can be bolted or welded to cross member. Must be factory cross member. No reinforcing of the factory cross member. You can use a piece of 2”x 2” angle 6” long welded to frame, to mount your cross member, 1 piece per side. 10.5 ONLY THING IN FRONT OF THE RADIATOR MAYBE A FACTORY A/C CONDENDOR. No radiator guards of any kind. You can run #9 wire (3 wraps max) from core support to bumper in 2 spots. Nothing in front of radiator.
11. You can run ANY tire. Only small weld in centers. No solid wheels, reinforced beads, or bead locks.
12. Front: Bumpers may be loaded. Or, you can use a piece of 4x4 tubing nothing bigger. NO POINTS OR SKIN WELDED ON THE TUBING. If using a tube front bumper it can only be up to 1” wider than the front tires on each side. Ends of tube can be capped. May be welded on with 2” x 6” x 1/4” strap, 2 per side. Bumper shocks and brackets can be welded onto the frame. These welds cannot go past the back side of the radiator support. No rear bumper brackets on the front. Rear: Bumpers may be loaded, but must be a factory bumper. No homemade rear bumpers. May be mounted to where they are angled up. May be welded on with 2” x 6” x 1/4” strap, 2 per side. Bumper shocks and brackets can be welded onto the frame. These welds cannot go past the first 6” of the frame rail. 12.1 Bumper height: Maximum 20” Minimum 14” These measurements are to the bottom of the bumper.
13. Front suspension: You can swap new style a-arms with old style a-arms. You can change springs out to stiffer springs. No kicking springs, no aftermarket ball joints, tie rods, or spindles. You can #9 wire down a-arms with 2 strands per side, or (1) ½” bolt with hardware style washers per side. No all thread shocks. Must use factory bolt in style shocks. 13.1 Rear suspension: You can run 2 stands of #9 per side on the rear end, to tie the rear end down. You can use ZTR style watts link brackets on 98 and newer fords. They must bolt on with bolts, no larger than ½”. Leaf spring cars must use only factory style spring clamps (6 per side) and factory number of leafs. No flat leafs. No u-bolts larger than ½”. No all thread shocks. Must use a factory bolt in style shocks.
14. Lincoln frames can be shortened up to 1” in front of the factory radiator support frame mount. 14.1 Hump plates will be allowed. 3” X 12” x ¼” max thickness, placed in middle of hump on the outside of the frame only. 15. NO TILTING IN ANY WAY!! NO PINS IN THE FRAME!! NO FRAME SHAPING!! NO PAINTING OF THE FRAME!! 16. Fresh cars or preran cars are ONLY allowed 2 – 4” x 6” fix-it plates. Rusts spots can be repaired but only up to 2 places. This will count towards your fix-it plates. No shaping of plates, they must stay flat. 17. When fixing preran cars; if you rip open the frame or a frame seam, you CANNOT weld it back together! 18. #9 wire holes can have a washer welded to the body for #9 wire to go through. This washer cannot be any larger than a ¾” flat hardware washer.
OFFICALS DECISIONS ARE FINAL!! If for any reason car is suspect of being illegal, officials have the right to cut or drill for inspection. If this is not granted, you will forfeit all entry/winnings and will not be allowed to run!!
Any questions call Chris Smith @ 317-682-7922. Inspection starts at noon. All cars must be inspected by 6pm. No inspections or re-inspections after 6pm. (example- you get in line for first inspection at 5:45 and don’t pass, you must have everything fixed and be re-inspected by 6pm). You will only be allowed 2 chances through the inspection line.

2017 GUT AND GO CLASS Full Size Cars
DRIVER’S DOOR SHOTS HAVE GOTTEN OUT OF HAND. SO, DRIVERS DOOR MUST BE PAINTED WHITE BEFORE GOING TO INSPECTION. IF YOU SHOW UP TO INSPECTION WITHOUT THE DOOR PAINTED WHITE, YOUR CAR WILL NOT BE INSPECTED UNTIL IT IS PAINTED.
No all WHITE cars.
1. Safety belts, approved helmets, goggles or face shields are mandatory. Approved safety glasses are also allowed. 2. All glass and trim moldings must be removed before entering the fairgrounds. Must be swept clean of all debris and loose parts. No mirrors are allowed. (Dash is not required to be removed) 3. Engine & Transmission MUST BE FACTORY. 4. ORIGINAL GAS TANKS MUST BE REMOVED. Original gas tanks may be relocated in back seat area or approved gas tank, such as marine type, is to be mounted in back seat area. ALL LINES MUST HAVE LEAKPROOF CONNECTIONS (such as fittings or clamps). Taped connections are not allowed. Gasoline approved rubber lines allowed, if new or of good quality. Otherwise metal lines with 12 inches maximum rubber hose connections. All carburetors must have cover to suppress backfire flames. ALL FUEL LINES THAT RUN THROUGH THE FLOOR MUST HAVE RUBBER AROUND THEM, TO KEEP FROM BEING CUT OPEN BY SHEETMETAL. 5. Body is to remain stock (O.E.M.) and remain in stock mounts and locations. Driver's door may be plated (BOLTED ON ONLY), with a minimum of 1/4" plate steel not to extend more than six inches past door seam (safety purpose only). Other doors may be wired shut with maximum of two strands in two locations of #9 wire per seam. Trailer hitch assemblies must be completely removed. Fire walls must remain intact. NO WELDING ALLOWED! 9. Radiators must remain in stock positions and mounts. No part of any cooling system allowed behind fire wall. 10. Hood and deck lid must remain operable for initial inspection. Car must have hood at all times. HOODS MUST HAVE TWO 12"x12" HOLES CUT ON EACH SIDE OF CARBURETOR FOR FIRE CREW ACCESS. Hoods and trunks are allowed a maximum of six hold downs each using #9 wire only. 11. Suspension stock front and rear. OEM rear end and drive line only. Power Wheels Rules
Batteries must be secured. You may change out stock Power Wheel battery to a 12 volt lawn and garden battery. NO car batteries. If power wheel has any open door ways they must be covered with a plastic type material. No metal or sharp edges. Use only tie wraps to secure open doors. This is for the kid’s safety. Must have stock gears and motors. This is for the kids to have fun let’s not get carried away. Must have helmet. Must keep hands/arms in side of power wheel at all times during the event. Only Power Wheel type wheels and tires, no adding anything to tires for traction. No passengers. Kids Ages from 4 to 10 years old may enter. Must have parent sign wavier to participate. This will be a 15 minute timed event.
