2017 BASH FOR CASH NERAT / BIG ROCK KICKER CLASS RULES GENERAL 1.Any American-made sedan or station wagon 1980 and newer No Imperials. A 14“x 14“roof sign is mandatory. No black cars permitted except for past winners. All other cars may not be painted more than 50% black and must have a contrasting color on the other 50% 2.Cars must have functioning brakes at all times, on at least one axle. Helmet, seat belt, and eye protection must be worn at all times. 3.Any questions call first if it doesn’t say you can don’t do it. Cars must be stock unless modifications are stated in rules. No painting of the frames. All glass, plastic, and interior must be removed before arriving to the event. 4.Any controversies or protests must be brought up before and / or during the drivers meeting. 5.We have the right to re-inspect, cut, drill, any car at any time. If you are caught breaking the rules set here forth you will forfeit any and all winnings and or prizes you are due. Judges decisions are final. If you stretch a rule you will lose that rule. You must pass inspection within 3 times through inspection or you will not be allowed to run. 6.Any aftermarket parts must be approved by Smash It demolition derby’s you must call and submit pictures for approval. Parts that are not approved before the derby will not be permitted to run. 7.No painting of the frames or inside of the car is permitted cars will not be inspected if this is done. 8.Stock gas tanks must be removed from original place and moved inside the car. You must use a fuel cell or boat tank securely fastened with no leaks and must be installed in a safe manner.
FRAME 1.Trailer hitches and braces must be removed. No plating, pinning, heat treating, stuffing the frame of any kind. No welds on frame may exceed a single pass no weave passes or building the weld up will be permitted. All unused bolts must be removed from frame 2.NO FRAME CREASING or hammering, OR BEATING DOWN THE TOP/BOTTOM OR SIDES OF FRAME IN ANY WAY PERMITTED. You can notch or crease rear frame this is to help rear of car roll not to strengthen the frame. Top Frame seams from firewall forward may be welded top side only with a single bead of weld no weave passes excessive welds will have to be removed. 3.On 02 and older cars the front frame they must be 23" from front of coil pockets on bottom of frame to end of the frame the bumper can’t slide over the frame If a frame section needs to be replaced or repaired (rust) you must call first. If the frame has damage in the rear the back 2 body bolts may be moved no more than 6" from factory location. 4.For coil sprung cars you may use a hump plate they may be ¼" X 6" X 22" centered in the hump they will be measured from the top center of the hump and must start no lower than the center of the frame. Hump plate must be at least 2" from rear end housing. On new model GM's (metrics) you may use a ¼ " X 6" X 30" hump plate to be measured the same way. On leaf spring cars you may use a ¼" X 6" X 11" hump plate to be measured the same way. These hump plates may contour the frame or run straight across hump. Hump plate must remain flat plate no bending of this over the top or bottom of frame. Hump plate must be on outside of frame towards the outside of the car. 5.Ball joint protectors, you can have a ball joint protector on your kicker cars, max 2x2 square tube with 2"x2" contact area on the frame. *this is to be used as a ball joint protector* DO NOT ABUSE THIS!!! 6.On 03 and newer fords you may use 1 of the following options Option 1 -You can weld in a cradle from a 80-02 vic, marquis, etc. with the same configuration that it came with from the factory onto your 2003 & up frame. With a single weld bead no wider than 3/8" wide and no added metal. The cradle and suspension components must be welded within 2" of factory location. *measure from crush box bolt holes forward on both models. You may tilt the frame in one location only. You may have a factory spring pocket welded on the frame for your ball joint protector or a piece of square tube like listed above. (Spring pocket section CAN NOT BE WIDER THAN UPPER A-ARM) if this is wider than A arm the car will not be permitted to run no fixing of this will be permitted. NO shortening the frame on 2003 & up. NO filling the crush point holes.
Option 2 - you may run a bolt in style cradle with spring pockets ( THESE MUST BE APPROVED BEFORE THEY CAN RUN) the cradle must not add any strength to the front frame beyond what the factory 80-02 cradle would in factory configuration. No welding on the frame to cradle at all. They must utilize the factory bolting locations cradle and all suspension components must mount within 2" of factory location NO shortening the frame on 2003 & up NO filling the crush point holes 7.Frame may not be lower than 14". To the ground 8.You may tilt the front frame in 1 place only no metal may be added. All factory holes in frame must remain open no welding these holes shut permitted. 9.If a car has frame damage you must call first to repair it. Frame spacers for body can be no larger than 3” in diameter and must be 1” tall. These may not weld to frame in any way. 10.You may clip pre-ran cars with a single butt weld with no metal added must use same make and model of frame IE: ford to ford gm to gm No hybrid frames permitted on 02 and older frames this may be done at crush box or cross member on 03 and newer frames this must be done at the cross member only to clip a car you must first call before you can compete with the car. 11.You may also use a 4" x 4" x ¼ plate to weld to top side of frame on the front two body mounts these can weld no farther than 2" on the frame behind the body mount bolts 12.No welding washers, Plates, or anything else over top of spring pockets if something is found in this area the car will not run there is no fixing this.
BUMPERS 1.Homemade bumpers are permitted they must be no bigger than 8 ½ “at any point no sharp or excessive points will be permitted, this will be measured with a fixture that is 8 ½” bumpers larger will not run no exceptions. There will not be a tolerance for the 8 1/2 “measurement. If using a factory bumper it may be loaded or stuffed full. 2.You may use ¼" X 2” X 6” plate to weld from bumper to frame 2 PER BUMPER MOUNTING LOCATION. Rear bumper shocks must appear stock (Must be round pipe or factory shock no square tubing will be permitted) 3.FRONT BUMPER YOU MAY USE A 4" wide x 3/8" thick strap extending from your bumper down one side of the frame and cannot extend any further back than the very front most part of your original factory top-front a-arm bracket factory weld. You are also allowed to wrap this strap around the front of the frame 4" to create an "L" shape this is to give you enough material to weld your bumper to the strap. Plate may be formed but it cannot double at any point. Do not abuse this rule you will cut it. This strap must be on side of frame not top or bottom. On 03 and newer cars this plate can be 17” from the bumper back towards A arm. 4.No spacers of any type permitted between the front bumper and the frame. The bumper on the rear of the car must be factory (DEC bumpers AND Destroyer derby parts bumpers permitted) no adding of metal to bumper on rear of car will be permitted. Openings in bumper may be closed out 5.Bumper cannot be lower than 15" or higher than 22" from bottom of bumper to the ground. 6.On pre-ran cars if the frame is shortened in the rear and bumper replaced the bumper shocks may not be located closer than 6" from hump plate. 7.Front bumper may be hardnosed.
SUSPENSION 1.You may modify tie rods. Valve stem protectors are permitted. A-arms must remain in stock configuration. Any rubber tire permitted. Rear trailing arms may be Home made No bigger than 2 x 2 square tubing or pipe AND MUST MOUNT TO PACKAGE TRAY LIKE FACTORY. Doubling of tires permitted. Bead locks are permitted no bigger than 21” across. 2.Coil springs in rear may be welded wired or chained to rear end. No coil to leaf conversions allowed. 3.You may use rear end of choice. Rear end protectors may be used but may not be used to strengthen car in any way and must be on back of rear end. Leaf spring cars may replace broken springs with factory ¼ “leaf springs only. No more than 7 springs allowed and must have a 2" stagger and mounted in factory location 4.Sway bar may be welded to bottom of frame in the factory location you may use a 1 ½ " X 4” bracket or a 2" square tubing or pipe to weld to sway bar to attach to frame. Sway bar must be a factory made car type sway bar. Sway bar ends may be bolted to lower A Arms not welded. 5.Upper and lower A Arms must be factory passenger car type no homemade ones will be permitted. Any watts link brackets not utilized must be removed. 6.Upper a arms may be welded down by folding down the front side and rear side of a arm and welding to frame with a 1/4” X 2” X 6” piece of metal on front and rear side of A Arms. NO other welding on A Arms will be permitted BAR TYPE A ARMS YOU MAY USE a ¼" X 2" X 6" piece of steel on front and back side of upper a arm DO NOT WELD A ARMS TO FACTORY MOUNTING BRACKETS. Lower A-Arms may not be welded. You can change out the new style A-arms for old style ones. Cars do not have to bounce. Solid suspension is allowed. On 98 - 02 A arm mounts you may use a 1” piece of solid rod or factory bar to connect the front and rear brackets this add on may weld to the inner parts of brackets and the top of cup over coil pockets It may not lay on top of frame. 7.The top edge of A ARM toward engine cannot be beat down to frame they must remain in factory shape and cannot be welded in any way. If this is done car will not be permitted to run there will be no fixing of this permitted. 8.On 98-02 frames the cup over spring pockets must remain in factory location these cannot be removed or modified. No spring spacers permitted on top of coil spring inside of frame. 9.A ARMS must be from a passenger car no truck or van A ARMS will be permitted.
BODY 1.You may weld doors, trunk lids, and or tailgates. Strapping used for welding may not be stair stepped no excessive overlapping permitted. Strapping may be ¼” x 3" flat stock maximum. Tops of door skins may be smashed together and welded ¼” X 3” flat stock be used 2.No interior body seam welding will be permitted. Doors can be welded on outside of body only. On pre-ran cars the doors may be repaired back to stock. Rust repair is limited to floor boards and roofs only. 3.Hoods must be open for inspection. (12" x 12" hole over carburetor) Cars may not be smashed flat If cars are tucked the rear quarter panels on both sides of cars must be 6" higher than the top of the bumper If speaker deck is removed deck lid can attach to package tray they must remain within 2“ of rear of package tray ( behind body bolts on new style fords). 4.Body must have a 1" gap between body and frame with a stack of washers or spacer of some kind may be used nothing bigger than 3" x 3" permitted NO EXCEPTIONS cars without a space will not be permitted to run. 1” body bolts max must start and stop in factory location all body mounts must be in stock location. 5.You may have 8 bolts on the hood to keep it secure, bolts may be 1" in dia. The front 2 may go all the way through core support You may use a ¼” X 2” x 2” spacer through the core support this may be welded to top of frame and top and bottom of core support only these may not be lower than top of frame. 1" bolts max. 6.You may have a window bar or wire in windshield and rear window if using metal it can be no thicker than 3/8" and no wider than 3" You may use 2 x 2 pipe not solid. These may not touch the rollover bar. And must be at least 6” away from gas tank protector. They can be welded to roof no more than 6" from the window area. And welded to deck lid no more than 6"at the rear window area Metal used for this may not exceed 6" in length on roof or deck lid. 7.Deck lids may have two 1" piece of all thread from the floor pan to the deck lid they may Attach to frame by welding the all thread to the frame no more than ½ (HALF) way down the side of frame and must be straight up and down And must extend through deck lid, On wagons these may go from the floor pan to rear roof pillars not the roof. You may add 3 bolts per wheel well these bolts can be in wheel well only. 8.Two 8" X 8" inspection holes must be put in all deck lids one on each side of deck lid within 2" of trunk strapping in center of trunk. Trunk lids must be factory for make and model of car IE: GM to GM ford to ford no pre 1980 deck lids permitted on 80 and newer cars. 9.You can add a piece of angle (4" x 4" x ¼"max.) to top of the core support but can be No longer than 32" no other metal permitted on core support. No other metal permitted to be welded to core support. 10.Body bolt washers may be no bigger than 3” and cannot be welded to body in any way. 11.You may plate drivers and passengers front doors with steel from door seam to door seam This is for added safety to drivers.
CAGE 1.You may have a 4 point cage surrounding the drivers compartment with a roll over bar. Bars 6" diam. Max must be sheet metal to sheet metal only. Dash bar must be 5” off the floor, the bar behind the seat can sit no further back than where the kick panel meets the bench seat and must be at least 5" off the floor measured from the highest part of the floor/ driveshaft tunnel. Rear seat bar and rear down legs may not be farther back than where the kick panel meets the bench seat. Roll over bar and rear down legs are cage components. You may use a rollover bar from front side of roll bar across the roof down to dash bar this may not connect to sheet metal. Door bars may be no farther forward than the firewall and extend into rear doors on 4 door cars they must stop 2” from back of door on 2 door cars they must stop 3” from rear wheel well on the body the rear of these bars must be free floating and may not attach to body. 2.You may have gussets in cage at the corners. 3.You may use 2 down legs to the frame from the rear bar down to frame these must run straight down no angling of the down legs permitted. 4.You may use a floating gas tank protector that comes off the back bar but it cannot be wider than 24" The gas tank protector or holder may go all the way back to the sheet metal. Gas tank protector / holder can be welded or bolted to rear sheet metal or package tray with 2 - ½ " X 4“ bolts or 2 -- 3" welds. Sheet metal cannot be removed. You can have kickers from the front dash bar to the top side of frame behind A arms. 2X2 square tubing or 2” pipe only no other material may be used they must be within 2" of A arm. The kickers must be located behind A arm bracket on 98 – 02 or behind A arm on all other models closest to firewall of car. 5.A center bar from rear seat bar to dash bar is permitted. 6.YOU MAY USE A BAR FROM ROLL OVER BAR ACROSS ROOF AND CONNECT TO DASH BAR. DOOR BARS MAY NOT EXTEND FARTHER FORWARD THAN DOOR HINGES.
ENGINE / TRANSMISSION 1.Engines may be chained in with 1 chain PER SIDE standard 3/8" chain max these chains may be no longer than 16" and no more than 2 chain links may be welded to the engine cradle NO CHAINS PERMITTED TO WELD TO FRAME RAILS IN ANY WAY Motor of choice is permitted. Distributor protectors are allowed, nothing that attaches to engine can be wider than the stacks I.E dist. Protector, engine cradles etc. or be used to strengthen cars. 2.Transmission protectors are allowed. They may not attach or brace to the cross member, frame, or any part of the cage components Trans blanket is recommended. OEM trans cross member or 2X 2 X 1/4” max replacement. Must be mounted with at a space from all trans protector components including shifter plate and cross member. Skid plates are allowed. They may be one piece from engine to transmission. They may not extend past oil pan or transmission pan. Don’t connect to transmission cross member. NO bolting or welding the skid plate to the frame. 3.Transmissions must be of passenger car origin, transmission coolers may be used, but they must be secured in such a way to prevent injury. Metal or braided lines must be used. No fuel or low-pressure lines may be used. Coolers may be secured in a container in the passenger compartment of the car. 4.Angles for cross member can't be longer than 5" CROSS MEMBER MUST RUN STRAIGHT ACROSS CAR AND MOUNT IN FACTORY LOCATION ON TRANSMISSION. 5.Cross members may be 2” X 2” X 1/4 “square tubing or factory cross member only and be straight across car no arched or angles will be permitted. 6.No water coolers permitted or overflow bottles permitted must be factory car radiator or an oem replacement only. 7.Engine may be welded solid nothing that mounts to engine or engine cradle will be permitted to be welded to frame rails. They must attach only to engine cradle not frame rails. 8.No radiator or fan protectors permitted. You may use 1/8” expanded metal on the core support in front of radiator it may be bolted in 4 spots or welded in 4 spots with 1” welds.

If using 74-76 gm bumper cups the body mount hole in cups must line up with frame holes. you can hard nose the front bumper you may use a 2” x 6” x ¼” plate to weld bumper the frame 2 per mounting point these plates must be on side of frame not permitted on top or bottom of frame. On 71-76 gm wagons you may use 4 of these plates to weld rear bumper to the body. If using 74 - 76 gm bumper shock cups body mount holes in these and the frame must be in line with each other 4.on 1980 and newer cars the front frame may be cut off in front of the front body mount at the core support body mount cannot be moved in any way.

Lower A-Arms may not be welded. You can change out the new style A-arms for old style ones. You can change out the new style a-arms for old style ones. Cars do not have to bounce. Solid suspension is allowed. 3.Rear end braces may be used but may not be used to strengthen car in any way. 4.Leaf spring cars may replace broken springs with 5/16 springs. No more than 7 springs allowed and must have a 2” stagger and mounted in factory location you cannot move spring mounting location. 5.Solid shocks permitted. you may use 1” all thread for shocks 6.Coil spring cars may use 2 x 2 square tubing for trailing arms they must be in factory location no relocating trailing arms permitted. Leaf spring clamps may be 2'' wide 3/8” thick 4 per side allowed no leaf conversions. 7.If sway bars are used, factory sway bar brackets must be used on frame. No welding allowed. 8.On front coil springs you cannot use any spring spacers on top of coil going inside of frame. You cannot have any metal or any other material around, on top of, or in coil spring inside of frame. 9.The top edge of A ARM toward engine cannot be beat down to frame they must remain in factory shape and cannot be welded in any way. If this is done car will not be permitted to run there will be no fixing of this permitted.
BODY 1.Body-to-frame hardware and bushings may be replaced with 5/8 “bolts, with 3" top and bottom metal washer. Washers not to exceed 3" x 3". If body bolts are replaced there must be a 1" spacing between body and frame. No exceptions cars without a space will not be permitted to run. Do not weld the body washers to the floor or frame. All washers must be free floating body bolts must start and stop in factory location and cannot run to bottom of frame bottom of bolts must be inside of frame except for front two body bolts at core support these may run through frame. For inspection the front body bolt at core support on passenger side must be removed for inspection and replaced after inspection. 2.Doors may be welded all the way around on outside of body only with ¼: x 3” wide strapping no excessive overlapping of strapping is permitted. 3.Deck lids and tailgates may be welded with a 5” on 5” off rule using ¼” x 3” wide pieces of steel Deck lids and tailgates must be in original location deck lids may be folded down in the trunk, trunk lids may be dipped along with speaker deck. Speaker deck can be removed, but trunk lid can only be welded to quarter panels and tail light assembly only nothing may be welded inside of trunk. Two (2) 8” x 8” inspection holes must be put in all deck lids within 2” of trunk strapping in center of deck lid for inspection and fire safety. . deck lids must be factory for make and model of car i.e.: ford to ford gm to gm no pre 1980 deck lids on 1980 and newer cars 4.Hood may be 9 wired in 8 places or bolted in 6 places bolts may be 5/8” in dia... Front 2 body mounts may extend through core support and used as front 2 of the 6 hood bolts 1” all thread max for the front two body bolts only you cannot sleeve the all thread with anything from bottom of core support and above. A 12” hole minimum must be in the hood. 5.No x/wire will be permitted in window or door areas. Rear window bars are permitted in sedans only mild steel strapping 3/8” x 3" wide and welded 3"on roof at window area and 3” welded to deck lid at window area. There must be a 6” space from window bar to gas tank protector. Front window area you may use 9 wire from roof to firewall in 2 places to protect driver from hood. 6.You can tuck the center of trunk but you cannot roll quarters over the rear quarter panels must stay in factory location. No wedging of trunks or tops of cars permitted. On pre-ran cars you may tuck the deck lid a little to repair body damage some body creasing permitted. 7.Core support may not be moved must be in factory position and be in line with body mount holes in frame. No welding on firewall of car permitted for any reason. No seam welding on body will be permitted. 8.a ¼ " x 6” wide plate may be used on driver's door only this must be on outside of door and centered and may run from door seam to door seam. 9.No extra brackets, bracing, of any type permitted on body of car. 10.You may plate drivers and passengers front doors with steel from door seam to door seam this is for added safety to drivers.
CAGE 1.You may have a cage surrounding the drivers compartment with a roll over bar. Bars 6” dia. max. must be sheet metal to sheet metal only you may use 10” X 10” X ¼” plate to attach bars to sheet metal. 2.The dash bar must be 5” from center of firewall the bar behind the seat can sit no further back than where the kick panel meets the bench seat and must be at least 5” off the floor. 3.roll over bar must be straight up and down no angling permitted you may use a gas tank protector they can be 24” wide and extend to sheet metal must be centered in car. 4.You may use a bar from roll over bar across roof and connect to dash bar this bar must be 5” from any sheet metal. 5.Door bars may be no farther forward than the firewall and extend into rear doors on 4 door cars they Must stop 2” from back of door on 2 door cars they must stop 3” from rear wheel well on the body the Rear of these bars must be free floating and may not attach to body. 6.You may have gussets in cage at the corners.
ENGINE / TRANSMISSION 1.Engine swaps are o.k. no form of mounting engine and transmission may strengthen frame or body. 2.You must use a factory type frame mount to attach engine to frame. Aftermarket mounts are ok (Overkill and ZTR type mounts are fine). Frame mounts must be a rubber type mount that bolts to engine or engine cradle. All aftermarket mounts must be removed. Engine can be welded in solid. No chains permitted to engine. 3.External headers may be used straight up through hood only. Radiators may be removed but cannot be relocated in the vehicle. Radiator overflow must be pointed down to the ground. Bolting of sub-bracing of hood is permitted if hole is cut in hood but shall not exceed 8 - ½ “bolts in hood. 4.Distributor protectors and engine cradles will be permitted. Mounting of these may not strengthen car in any manner. Nothing on engine may be wider than stacks. 5.Transmission protectors are allowed. They may not attach or brace to the cross member, frame, or any part of the cage components Trans blanket is recommended. OEM trans cross member or 2X 2 X 1/4” max replacement. Must be mounted with at a space from all trans protector components including shifter plate and cross member. Skid plates are allowed. They may be one piece from engine to transmission. They may not extend past oil pan or transmission pan. Don’t connect to transmission cross member. NO bolting or welding the skid plate to the frame. 6.Original gas tank must be removed and replaced with a boat-type tank or fuel cell only. moved inside of car behind driver’s seat but no further back than rear axle no ratchet straps may be used on fuel tanks they must be securely fastened with bolts and metal straps. No stock tanks inside of car batteries must be moved to passenger side floor board and securely fastened. 7.You may run an electric fuel pump but you must have a on and off switch clearly marked. 8.All fuel lines must be secure and leak proof. Any method of mounting tanks can in no way strengthen your car. 9.Any stock type radiator is allowed, and must be mounted in stock location. You may (float your radiator) using 9 wire, bungee straps, or anything of that nature, maximum of 3 spots. If using a steel fan it must be a clutch fan and covered with the hood. Plastic solid fans will be acceptable. Electric fans are permitted. 10.No chains to engine permitted. No water coolers permitted or overflow bottles permitted must be factory car radiator or an OEM replacement only. Auxiliary transmission coolers are permitted they must be covered and securely mounted. 11.No radiator protectors or fan protectors permitted

Not solid. These may not touch the rollover bar. They can be welded to roof and firewall no more than 6" from the window area. And welded to the floor directly above rear axle the rear window bar cannot be attached to anything else except for roof of car and floor pan and welded 6"at the rear window on roof and 6” on floor pan. 6.Hoods must be open for inspection. (12" x 12" hole over carburetor. 7.cars may not be smashed flat if cars are tucked the rear quarter panels must stay at the factory height deck lids must be in factory location ( above rain channels). 8.You can add a piece of angle (4" x 4" x ¼"max.) to top of the core support but can be no longer than 1" wider than the radiator no other metal permitted on core support. No other metal permitted to be welded to core support. 9.Original gas tank may be removed and replaced with a boat-type tank or fuel cell Moved inside of car behind driver’s seat but no further back than rear axle. If fuel tank is in front of rear axle you may leave it in stock location. No stock fuel tanks permitted inside of car. Batteries must be moved to passenger side floor board and securely fastened.
CAGE 1.You may have a 4 point cage surrounding the drivers compartment with a roll over bar. Bars 6" diam. Max must be sheet metal to sheet metal only. Dash bar must be 5” away from all sheet metal, the bar behind the seat can sit no further back than 12” from rear of driver’s seat and must be at least 5" off the floor measured from the highest part of the floor/ driveshaft tunnel. You may use a rollover bar from front side of roll bar across the roof down to dash bar this may not connect to sheet metal. Door bars may be no farther forward than the firewall and extend into rear doors on 4 door cars they must stop 2” from back of door on 2 door cars they must stop 3” from rear wheel well on the body the rear of these bars must be free floating and may not attach to body. 2.No angling of roll over bars permitted. 3.You may have gussets in cage at the corners. They must be within 6” of corners of bars only no other gussets will be permitted. 4.You may use 2 down legs to the frame from the rear bar down to frame these must run straight down no angling of the down legs permitted. 5.You may use a floating gas tank protector that comes off the back bar but it cannot be wider than 24" The gas tank protector or holder may go all the way back to the sheet metal. The gas tank protector must stop at the sheet metal in front of rear axle and rear seat meet. 6.A center bar from rear seat bar to dash bar is permitted. You may use a bar from the roll over bar on roof across the front roof down to dash bar. Door bars may not extend farther forward than the firewall.
FRAME 1.Trailer hitches and braces must be removed. No plating, pinning, heat treating, stuffing the frame of any kind. Do not paint frame? No welds on frame or K member may exceed a single pass no weave passes or building the weld up will be permitted. You may weld 1 seam firewall forward per side. 2.No frame creasing or hammering permitted. You can notch or crease rear frame this is to help rear of car roll not to strengthen the frame. Frame welding is limited to front and rear bumper areas. you may do one of the following not both 1 you can weld 1 seam per side on body from firewall forward or 1 seam per side on k member with no metal added. Front frame may be shortened to front side of core support. Core support must remain in stock location. 3.If a frame section needs to be replaced or repaired (rust) you must call first. On pre-ran cars if the frame is shortened in the rear and bumper replaced the bumper shocks may not be located closer than 6" from hump plate. 4.Angles for cross member can't be longer than 5" and must be within 12" from factory location. 5.for coil sprung cars you may use a hump plate they may be ¼" x 6" x 16" centered in the hump they will be measured from the top center of the hump and must start no lower than the center of the frame. Hump plate must be at least 2" from rear end housing. On leaf spring cars you may use a ¼" x 6" x 10" hump plate to be measured the same way. These hump plates may contour the frame or run straight a 6.you may clip pre-ran cars with a single butt weld with no metal added must use same make and model of frame all factory holes in frame must remain open no welding these holes shut permitted. To clip a car you must call to get approval. cross hump. Hump plate must remain flat plate no bending of this over the top or bottom of frame. 7.K members cannot be welded to body of car they may be bolted solid.
BUMPERS 1.Homemade bumpers are permitted they must be no bigger than 8 ½ “at any point no sharp or excessive points will be permitted, this will be measured with a fixture bumpers larger will not run no exceptions. There will not be a tolerance for the 8 1/2 “measurement. If using a factory bumper it may be loaded or stuffed full. 2.Bumpers may be no lower than 14” and no higher than 20” to bottom of bumper this will be strictly enforced. Bumper seams may be welded metal may be added to bumper this must be done on the inside of the bumper front bumper only. Rear bumper may be seam welded no metal may be added to rear bumper. 3.Bumper shocks and bumper brackets may be welded to the frame. Bumper brackets and or shocks must be no longer than 10” in length and welded to outside of frame no shocks permitted inside of frame or body. You can hard nose the front bumper you may use a 2” x 6” x ¼” plate to weld bumper the frame 2 per mounting point these plates must be on side of frame not permitted on top or bottom of frame. You may weld shock to frame factory bumper shocks can only be 10” from end of frame and may not be moved back on frame. You may use 1/4" X 2" X 2" square tube or 2" round pipe or a 1" X 2" X 10" plate from the bumper back the frame 10" for bumper shocks
ENGINE / TRANSMISSION 1.No chains on engine permitted solid or aftermarket mounts are ok. 2.4 & 6 cyl. Engines only. Distributor protectors are allowed, nothing that attaches to engine can be wider than the stacks i.e. dist. protector, engine cradles etc. or be used to strengthen cars. 3.Oil pan and transmission pan may be plated the plate used may be only 1” wider than the pan they are welded to they may not connect in any way. 4.No steel bell housings or transmission braces allowed.
SUSPENSION 1.You may modify tie rods. Valve stem protectors are permitted. A-arms must remain in stock configuration. Any tire permitted. Rear trailing arms may be home made no bigger than 2 x 2 square tubing or pipe. 2.upper a arms may be welded down with a ¼" x 2" x 2" piece of steel on front and back side of upper an arm and you may plug weld the center of the a arm. Lower a-arms may not be welded. Cars do not have to bounce. Solid suspension is allowed. Coil springs in rear may be welded wired or chained to rear end. 3.Rear end protectors may be used but may not be used to strengthen car in any way. Leaf spring cars may replace broken springs with factory ¼ “leaf springs only. No more than 5 springs allowed and must have a 2" stagger and mounted in factory location you cannot change coil spring to leaf spring set ups. 4.Idler arm must be bolted factory to frame no bolts will be permitted all the way through the frame. Sway bar may be welded to bottom of frame in the factory location you may use a 1 ½ " x 4” bracket or a 2" square tubing or pipe to weld to sway bar to attach to frame. You cannot move the sway bar they must mount in factory location. 5.On front wheel drive cars you may reinforce the rear axle assembly with 2” x 2” square tubing, 2” angle or 2” wide flat plate this may not in any way reinforce the body of the car nothing bigger than 2” X 2” may be used. And the 2” X 2“ can attach to rear hubs.

You may crease, notch, or dimple rear frame to help car roll. 4.You may weld the bumper to shock plate and weld the bumper shock where they collapse there must be at least a 1“ gap between bumper and frame if using a factory bumper shock. Bumper may be welded directly to frame but the bumper if this is done shock must be removed Completely. No adding metal. On the back side of bumper where shock mounts you may use A ¼” X 6” X 6” piece of flat metal to create a flat mounting surface. 5.Bumper swaps ok must be factory car bumper any year bumper permitted. Bumpers cannot be seam welded or have any metal may be added to bumpers. 6.Car must set level bumpers cannot be higher than 18” to bottom of bumper.
BODY / CAGE
1.Drivers Door may be welded solid outside seam only. All other doors must be wired, chained, or banded shut. 8 double strands of 9 wire permitted per door. 2.Deck lids must be in original position above rain channels. No wedging some body creasing is ok. 3.Hood can be wired shut ONLY. 8 double strand of #9 wire 2 may go around bumper and or frame. Hoods must be open for inspection. (12" x 12" hole over carburetor). Deck lids may be wired same way no welding permitted you must have a 12” X 12” inspection hole in deck lids. 4.Factory body bolts may be changed to ½” bolts there must be a 1 “gap between body and frame you can use steel spacers, hockey pucks, or stack of washers nothing used may be bigger than 3” in diameter. Body washers inside of car can be no bigger than 3” in diameter. 5.No seam welding will be permitted on bod. Repairing sheet metal is limited to where the battery box and gas tank and drivers area of the floor boards of the car. 6.Front body space may be 4” tall maximum. 7.You may have a bar in the dash area and a bar behind the seat with bars connecting the dash and rear bar on each side. Side bars must be inside of car not inside of doors. Roll over bar is permitted No down legs permitted. Gussets permitted in corners of cage must be done at corners only. No bigger than 4” in diameter bars and you can use a ¼” X 10” X 10” plate to attach bars to the sheet metal. No kickers or down legs permitted. 8.Dash bar must be 5” from firewall rear bar can be no farther back than where the kick panel meets the seat all bars must be 5” off the floor. Gas tank protectors are permitted no wider than 24” permitted. 9.Original gas tank must be removed and replaced with a boat-type tank or fuel cell. Moved inside of car behind driver's seat but no further back than rear axle. Batteries must be moved to passenger side floor board and securely fastened these must be covered with A rubber or non-flammable material.
Suspension
1.Tie Rods may be reinforced. Any rear end permitted you can use 2" X 2" square tubing for rear trailing arms 2.Watts link conversions on 98 and newer cars are permitted you must use ¼” X 2” X 2” square tubing or 2” round pipe for rear trailing arms. 3.Any rear end permitted. No all thread shocks must use a factory shock on rear end. 4.No spacers or other metal permitted in, on top of, or around coil spring inside of frame on front coil springs. 5.Rear coil springs may be wired or chained. All suspension components must remain factory stock. No modifications will be permitted. Front coil springs must remain stock car coil springs 6.You can use a 1/4" X 2" X 2' plate to weld A arms down in front and rear of A arms to get ride height cars do not have to bounce. 7.Leaf spring cars must remain factory springs. You cannot change coil spring to leaf spring set ups. 8.Any tire may be used.
Engine / transmission
1.Any car motor of choice is permitted. Must use stock engine frame mounts no solid mounts permitted. No chains on engine permitted. 2.Angles for cross member can't be longer than 5" and must be within 12" from factory location. 3.Transmission and engine mounts have to factory or OEM replacement mounts only no homemade frame mounts can be used. 4.No full engine cradles permitted. You may use a distributer protector and lower engine cradle with pully protector the engine cradle cannot connect to the DP.
No other modifications may be made to car unless they are stated in the rules above if you stretch a rule you will lose that rule.no welds on frame! 1. Must be 100% stock!! No cross breeding entire drive must be same make as car ( chevy to chevy ford to ford and so on) Must appear to be factory engine to car with stock exhaust. 2. Engine must be mounted with stock mounts in stock position. No welding of mounts bolted only. No homemade cross members, cross members must be stock and bolted in not welded 3. Doors must be chained or wired. No more than 6 places. 4. Trunks must be chained or wired. No more than 4 places. TRUNKS MUST BE OPEN DURING INSPECTION! Car must have deck lid and or tailgate No welding or adding metal. Trunk lid must be in stock location. No tucking, wedging, pre bending, smashing, folding or anything else you can think of. Must be 12" hole in hood in case of fire. Remove hood latch!!! Hood must be open for inspection. 6. .Any tire permitted doubles permitted, no foam filled tires no valve stem protectors 7. You may leave stock gas tank in stock location or you may relocate the fuel tank to rear floor of car if this is done you must use a fuel cell or boat tank no stock fuel tanks permitted inside of car. Must only have 3 gallons of gas. You may be asked to drain it if the gauge doesn't work. 8. Windshield may be left in car OR you can remove windshield! 9. The following must be removed prior to entering the fairgrounds, windows, headlights, taillights, all chrome and mirrors. Interior must be swept clean of debris and glass. 10. Stock type springs and shocks. No solid suspension. Screw in type spring risers ARE OK, NO wire, chains or any weld on rear ends or rear spring pockets. Cars must bounce & cars must be STOCK!!!!! 11. you may weld spider gears in rear end to make it posi. no gears permitted Must use stock axles. 12. paint front doors in contrasting paint. example if the car is black paint doors white 13. Do not strip under the hood. Battery MAY be LEFT in stock location. But you may put rubber mat over it or spray with foam around it not excessively. Do not spray foam on anything else. You may move the battery to the floor of the car you may lengthen cables to the reach battery on floor not the wireing harness this will be strickly enforced 14. you may use an 80 & newer bumper on car they must bolt on in factory location and manner you may collapse the shocks and weld all the way around the shock and the plate to bumper dec bumpers are permitted ends must remain open no metal added to bumper permitted. If car has no shocks bumper may be welded directly to frame with no metal added. 15. On the back side of bumper where shock mounts you may use a ¼” X 6” X 6” piece of flat metal to create a flat mounting surface. 16. If the car has a wiring harness in front of core support you may move it behind core support. 17. All body bolts must be factory stock no altering permitted. 18. Read all rules carefully and follow them! It will be a cheap easy build. Any questions call! There will be no stretching or bending of any rules or you will either run in the modified class or go home.
2017 FULL SIZE AND COMPACT TRUCK RULES 1.Any American made pick up, suburban and blazer type vehicles permitted. 2.Factory fuel tanks must be removed. You may run engine of choice. No kickers to distributor protector. 3.Fuel tanks must be located in the bed of the trucks in the in the center of the bed directly behind cab. No stock fuel tanks permitted. Fuel cells must be securely fastened and covered. 4.Battery may be moved to front floor of cab. Battery must be securely fastened to floor and covered. 5.All trucks must have seat belts. Doors must be secured by wire, chain, or welded shut no loose doors permitted. 6.Tail gates may be welded shut they may be welded to the bumper on the rear of the truck. Bed seams where the bed sides meet floor may be welded Inside of bed only no metal may be added. 7.Box and cab mounts may be replaced with up to 1” bolts body mounts may be removed. The body bolts may go all the way through the fame and floor of truck. 8.No trailer hitches or reinforcements of frame or body of any kind permitted. May use car bumpers for mounting of car bumpers you may use factory bumper shocks and brackets or a 3” X 3” X 5” long box steel or like wise material. 9.Hoods must be in place and operable must have a 12” X 12” hole cut in hood over carburetor. 10.Hoods may be wired or bolted shut only 8 double strands of wire permitted all can go to frame or bumper see full-size rules. 11.No 4 wheel drives permitted 4 wheel drives must have front drive shaft removed. 12.Tires No split rims. NO TRACTOR TREADS, or solid tires permitted. Any other tire permitted. 13.Beds must be welded to cab of trucks with a 3” strap directly behind doors. 14.8 double strands of wire permitted on front and rear of truck all permitted to go to frame. 15.Suspension may be solid. Bumpers can be no higher than 22” from bottom of bumper to ground front and rear. Trucks must set level. 16.A 4 point cage is highly recommended in drivers compartment for drivers safety. The cage in the cab may have 4 down legs from front and rear bar straight down to the top of frame. Also a gas tank protector is highly recommended. Protector may attach to frame but may not extend further than 24” from the front of the bed. 17.Trucks must set level no pulling down rear of the truck. No smashing of the bed sides will be permitted. You must use factory springs for make and model of truck. You may use all thread for shocks. 18.On trucks with out front leaf springs you can have kickers from the dash bar to frame behind A Arms 2" X 2" square tubing or 2" pipe only 1 per side.
2017 YOUTH CLASS RULES
1.This class is for the kids AGES 12-16 W/0 DRIVERS LICENSE let them learn how to strip cars out, build a car to the rules and be a good sport when they win or lose. Upon arrival a notarized parental consent form must be filled out or you will not be allowed to participate. One parent must be present with valid I.D. A notary will be present to notarize the entry forms. A PARENT OR ADULT MUST RIDE WITH THE DRIVER. This is for instructional purposes as well as a possible emergency situation. 2.cars must remain stock unless specified in these rules all cars must be factory front wheel drive 4 or 6 cylinder and wheelbase must not exceed 113" 3.Strip interior100%! U can leave in passenger seat, dash, KEY START RECOMMENDED completely remove airbags and power charge! 4.Drivers door and passenger door may be welded all way around on outside only both of these doors may be reinforced on the outside from door seam to door seam. 5.All other doors may be wired with 9 wire 8 places per seam. 6.Deck lid and or hatch may be wired with 9 wire in 8 places sheet metal to sheet metal only. 7.No tucking or wedging of rear of car permitted. 8. Bumpers must be factory compact car bumper only. You may weld bumper all the way around at the mounting point of the frame. You cannot add bumper shocks to a car that does not have them from factory. 9.You may use 2 places in windshield area for 9 wire or 3/8 chain from roof to cow of car to prevent hood from coming into cabin of car. 10. No rear window bar will be permitted. 11.Battery must be mounted inside the car, all parts of battery must be covered with a nonflammable material. 12.Any tire permitted. Remove wheel weights any tire permitted. No studded tires permitted. 13.Fuel Tanks***this is the most important rule to read. Any fuel system I feel that’s unsafe will not pass. Stock fuel tanks can be left in if they are mounted in front of rear axle. I don’t want to see a stock tank mounted in your back seat area. Tanks must be made of steel a 4 point hold down bolted to floor with a minimum of a 2" washer on the underside of car. All hoses must be double clamped at all connections. Electric fuel pumps must be operated by a switch that the passenger can shut off in case of a fire. I'll paint switch during inspection. Stock systems will simply use the key. 14.You may have a 4 point cage for driver and pass. Safety. Reinforcing the driver’s door and passenger door highly recommended. 12 x 12 inner door plates and No larger than 6" dia. pipe. A roll over bar strongly advised. You may also have a gas tank protector no wider than 24”. 15. All cars must remain factory stock unless otherwise stated in rules above.

Were there changes made to youth class ? looks like an easier build this year. Yes there was, it is a lot easier of a build. Now the youth can do almost all the work themselves.

Maybe I missed it says at top it's 80 and newer for nerat class but the rules say any year for the Nerat class typo or forgotten maybe

Were there changes made to youth class ? looks like an easier build this year. its a way cheaper/ simpler build this year I'd say. Its not all welded up like last year lol
